  1. Its not original, it looks to be cast from TE's original Jedi helmet.
  2. Nice casting. I agree with Caleb. That derives from Matt/TE's ROTJ helmet, the traps match up. Cool! It is worth keeping. These are pretty rare.
  3. LOVE IT! You really have the Jedi look locked down. You have the perfect build for the armour, nice and thin! The helmet is lovely, I take it that is the biscuit ABS? Joe
  4. Thanks guys. He will be passing through Wootton Bassett in the UK on Thursday. I know he would have been grateful for all the kind thoughts here. God bless all our servicemen and women. Joe
  5. Thanks for all the kind words. Sad that so many have lost friends in this way. Joe
  6. 1 signed for me too! Thanks Joe R
  7. A school friend of mine was tragically killed in Afghanistan on the last day of his tour. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8338220.stm Olaf was a true hero and saved countless lives. God bless our armed forces and the truly heroic work they do. Send a prayer to his wife and step-son tonight, I know I will. Joe
  8. Great build and finishing work, that really looks the part. Joe
  9. I would love to do a run with the new owner. I have sent an email, so we have to see how it pans out. I really want to build a dirty Endor Trooper. I believe that the original ROTJ armour that TE had was also sold on, it is out there somewhere. I found a guy on the RPF who had a forearm piece but wanted $1,000. Joe
  10. Didn't AA create the ears? I think the guy should get some credit. You can't just vac form any sculpture without amendments but JJ you are right, the essence of the character was there in the pictures of the sculpt. Joe
  11. I agree, I loved my FX when it first arrived all those years ago, but everyone I have seen in this hobby eventually upgrades to a movie accurate bucket after a while. Joe
  12. I personally don't think they look right with armour. For a little more you can get a much more accurate helmet, such as an Authentic Props 'second' helmet. Joe
  13. # I think that is based on an RT Mod. As above stay away.
  14. It looks nothing like either of my sets of Jedi moulds. The traps are significantly smaller on this helmet, were talking cm's. I agree that cap is hardly reliable as a source of information. Unlikely either party can prove their position without going back in time. Edit: I am not interested in dissing anyone, especially TE. My point is that my moulds of the background helmet are different to my newer moulds from the unfinished helmet, and these are totally different from the new TE ROTJ helmet. I am interested in how many moulds were used for the Jedi helmets. What would make more sense is whoever moulded Matt's Jedi helmet, created a huge amount of shrinkage when copying it, which would account for the difference in the traps. I would like to see Gino's Jedi moulds too, but this is doubtful!
  15. Wouldn't surprise me, the traps are all wrong.
  16. I think it looks amazing with the natural weathing. I wouldn't clean it. Joe
  17. I am slack, I have owned loads of armour, but never joined up! I am going to join when my ROTJ armour is done! Joe
  18. Post your FUNNY youtube clips here: This contains rude language and is not work friendly, but had me crying wih laughter. Revenge of the SIth in 5 Seconds
  19. My message box keeps filling up and I am not that popular! Is it possible to expand the amount of messages we can keep? I am happy to contribute $$'s to the site. Joe
  20. I think, correct me if I'm wrong, that Gino has one. Joe
  21. I agree. There is already far too much focus on the negative side of this hobby on this forum. Let's talk about the positives and stop re-hashing the same old is it ok to recast boring threads. Joe
  22. Too funny!
  23. I agree with some of the above comments. These recasting arguments should stay on the boards like the RPF, where the nasty vicious flaming wars appear. All these threads are advertising the recast armour and helmets to newbies and those who are tempted by the cost. Joe
  24. I have to disagree Jez, the overall shape differs so much on the moulds. But anyway that helmet is actually a very sharp casting, much more so than other Jedi examples. It also matches Jedi helmets in every angle. Anyway sharpness of cast is not what is different about the moulds as you will soon see! Also fellas when you see my replicas and compare them to the TE ROTJ Replica Helmets both version 1 and 2 you will see the huge difference in shape. Joe
  25. Nice to agree Jez! Keith has a better eye than me and he has seen both sets of moulds and we are both convinced they are different. I think that the SF moulds were done at the time of ESB and the RF moulds were done for Jedi. This would make perfect sense as the SF mould helmets have the ESB decals apart from the TE helmet, so maybe the moulds were kept and re-used for Jedi or the odd helmet. But pictures will tell the story and you can see for yourself. Joe
