  1. Keith has used Halfords Appliance white in the past and we all know the quality of his builds. I would give that a try. Joe
  2. I never used to like the Jedi helmets or armour but the more you study them, the more they grow on you. Caleb are you going to do anyweathering on this suit? Joe
  3. Keith I love that show. Cool! Joe
  4. I did thanks T. Sent one back, free gift coming your way very soon T.
  5. Well my good lady has given me a pass out for a few beers with the boys. The sun is shining and I have a week and a half off work. What are you guys and gals up to tonight? Joe
  6. Beautiful, I love it, my favourite armour by a long way. EDIT, pm sent Joe

    Lunch!

Scotch egg and some chicken breast....
  8. The background Jedi/ESB decals are paper, these look like vinyl and silk screened. Joe
  9. Just look on ebay, there are loads of sellers. Joe
  10. I have never seen any material in the frown on any other helmets. Could this be on the stand it is on? Also looks like the frowns were masked off and painted, not that well, as there is leakage! Great pics Mike. We now have enough infor to do a super accurate replica. Joe
  11. Amazing work Mike. You are a star! I have a sample of the neck trim from my Jedi helmet, so if anyone knows how to make a tooling for a reasonable cost we can do movie accurate neck trim to. Drop me a pm if anyone is interested. Joe
  12. Awesome! I love it. Joe
  13. That is looking amazing. The gloss is perfect and not too shiny at all IMO. You could just thicken the frown by a mm or two around the edges and lengthen it slighly so it goes nearer the corners. Just add some of Keith's Hovi Mic Tips. Then again regarding the gloss here is the helmet that Matt got his casts from which interestingly has a rounded off frown and the background style ears and a hard hat liner and chin straps. It has the more matt/satin frown. It seems to me that the background and hero moulds (ANH/ESB shape and the slimmer/wonky shape) were mixed up. Excuse the slightly OT. More pics please by the way. Also how do you paint the ears, they look very neat? Joe
  14. I was being dumb! It just took a while to load. Great vids and really really helpful, thanks Mike. Joe
  15. These vids don't load for me. I get a blank page, do I need anything to play them? Joe
  16. No worries. There is a pm going round here with information on armour sellers. In my opinion, I wouldn't buy FX, once you get more into your armour you will want something more accurate and there is not a huge price difference. Good luck and welcome by the way. Joe
  17. He is not 501st approved. He is a recaster. What he is saying is that his armour can be used in the 501st. Steer clear, plenty of other much better sellers. Joe
  18. Mike Can you check if the chin and frown are actually faded gloss paint or a matt black? I think that they are gloass black that has faded over the last 30 years.... Joe
  19. That helmet is looking very nice. Great job. Nice to see unusual quirky helmets rather than the standard versions. Joe
  20. The thing is if we know the Humbrol shade that is the ear color, can we not deduce the decal color from that? Hey T been married for a year, almost! LOL Joe
  21. I am so excited by this. Can't wait to see a set in the flesh. Joe
  22. Check out the pictures of the original helmet that is selling at Profiles. Pics on the RPF.... Joe
  23. Wow! I am so in on this, put me down for a full set of armour. With an HDPE helmet this would ultra accurate. Joe
  24. Could I take the last 3 spots so 4 in total? Thank you.
  25. Me too. Another run Fon???? Joe
