  1. Love what you fellas are doing! The whole of the UKG will be scuffed and dirty with flaking paint before you know it. Awesome awesome work mate! By the way we will have some ultra accurate offerings to help with the quest pretty soon, can't say much more for now other than it won't be ROTJ, but updates soon. Joe
  2. It always cracks me up, why go to the effort of making a small number of Hero helmets and then just throw them in with Stunts for closeup shots. Everything on this film was done so badly, the assembly, the repairs, helmets with paint literally slapped on layer after layer.
  3. Awesome work, you fellas are getting to crazy levels of accuracy. Will be hard to spot a real suit from the replicas soon. Joe
  4. @ Karin and Vern. Glad they were useful for you. Joe
  5. On one original HDPE helmet, it is squashed back inside (literally pushed down) it appears that they didn't want anything to show from the outide, then again as most original helmets differ so much in assembly I'm sure some were done differently, on the original JEDI helmets I owned it was just filed down. ROTJ -------- Joe
  6. Mikes movie accurate decals are almost ready. The decals were silk screened vinyl using humbrol paint, which Mike has Pantone matched for this next run.
  7. Awesome Dan, it needs some weathering I reckon!
  8. Awesome work Dan. Love the pictures of Keith's boys in the helmets. Thanks to Mike for his hard work on the decals and pushing the boundaries of accuracy. Joe
  9. I think this has been posted but here it is again. Joe
  10. If anyone can source this and offer it for a low price I will compare a sample to my original cutting. Joe
  11. I forgot share this photo. Original ROTJ neck trim. Enjoy folks. Joe
  12. That is great Paul. If you could post the ROTJ neck trim section scan that would be good. Joe
  13. Awesome link thanks Paul, I forgot about this. Paul must be upset about me sharing the LFL pictures! :lol Edit: Paul there is a second page as well please go ahead and share that too. Kudos for remembering! For those who don't know this is the link to the 'destoration' of my first ESB/ROTJ helmet. What Paul hasn't mentioned is that this work which was done badly was 'undone' by the Propstore of London at my request as it is not in keeping with my purist collecting habits! Here is an interview I did with The Prop Blog about this helmet. Joe R Interview with The Prop Blog Restoration Link Joe
  14. Happy Birthday mate! Joe
  15. Awesome work Pete. It is so close to the original below, truly amazing work. Joe
  16. I meant delete my post Paul didn't want to clog up the thread.
  17. Sorry to hear about this, but glad you have reconsidered. I am going to be picky about who I sell to as well, I think this is a good idea. Joe
  18. My unfinished helmet was a very creamy biscuit colour.
  19. Actually he looks like Nick Frost! Joe
  20. I think that the biscuit is just the ageing ABS, also there was no such thing as UV protected plastic back then. Biscuit helmets still look cool though and are great for the aged look. Joe
  21. I am still not a member as I live a fair distance from the action down in Cornwall. Despite owning almost every armour and helmet I have never joined. I will sort it out this year! Very slack being on a 501st forum and not joining up! Bad JoeR Joe
  22. Yeah they badly recast SDS and charge rip off prices! Not good! Plus with that website they will be C&D very soon! Joe
  23. Tom Sorry to hear your news. Good luck with the build and I can't wait to see the build up pictures. Joe
  24. Looks like Movie FX to me, not sure about modding it though...
