  1. Paul Do you not think they were gloss paint? My first helmet was refurbished but even before it was gloss. I assumed that it was age that gave them a matt/silk finish. Joe
  2. Mods can you delete all the jokes and OT and sticky this thread, there is some genuine useful buyer beware information on here that should be archived? Joe
  3. Another point fellas. If the 'kink' is due to assembly then why is it not on his helmets, if by his own description they are so accurate? I quote, "very intentional and very controlled level of slopiness in regards to its CONSTRUCTION and painting." So despite these being the most accurate helmets ever made and with such attention to detail you missed the huge kink in the tube, I'm sorry but I don't buy it. It is not there because the detail was sanded down by Matt G before you got the molds. Joe
  4. Great idea. Hopefully some truths have come about due to this thread's sister thread on the RPF. Joe Ps: I am joining the UKG very soon Paul, just need armour to go with my helmet!
  5. Thanks Nathan Oh you will see a JoeR. Have no fear my man! Joe
  6. Well said Nathan. Joe
  7. Ha! I am sure I will follow in your footsteps. Joe
  8. Pablo, well done for sticking up for the truth! You rock buddy! Joe Ps: If I can help you with anything ever, let me know....
  9. The curve of the back/cap section is very distinctive, in fact I would say I am certain it is a GF. whole helmet just has the look of a GF. Joe
  10. I'm no expert but the cap/back is a GF or GF copy as far as I can see. Joe
  11. I am not sure mate, to be honest, maybe the smooth cap version?
  12. Firstly I think that this subject should be discussed as many collectors on this forum have shelled out $1,000 a helmet based on what I believe are misrepresenatations. Gino claims to have molds that I quote, "touched the inside of the original". Here is the mold that was taken from the BrianR helmet, this was then sent to Gino to copy. It has been heavily modified as you can see, and secondly as Gino took copies, his helmets are quite removed from the original. ------------ There is no way the $1,000 replica helmets came from molds that touched the inside of an original nor are un-modified. Another point worth mentioning is that the tubes were wrong on Matt's molds, as can be clearly seen on the early TE helmets. The area behind the ear caps are all funky and not smooth like on the TE2. Four people can corroborate this story none of which are TE (Matt G). Before anyone shells out $1,000 based on smoke and mirrors I feel they should have access to this information. In fairness the guy has superb finishing skills, just don't try to lie and deceive your fellow prop collectors with made up stories. Joe
  13. I forgot about that too! I am sure there are others but more someone else will chime in I'm sure. Joe
  14. No it doesn't. There are FG helmets by Oakley and TE's early Jedi ones too. Check www.starwarshelmets.com for more info. Joe
  15. Good on you man! Love it! JoeR

    Inside a Bucket

Hi buddy, I am sure there was a post on the rpf a few years ago of a fan made copy, might be worth a search over there. Joe
  17. I just bought it now! And left feedback and let him know what a lowlife he is! Joe
  18. What a d*ck! He couldn't even both to write a decent description! Joe
  19. Apologies to Dan Laws, it appears he has sorted out any oustanding issues. Let's hope your friend can do the same. Joe
  20. Agreed, love the dodgy frown! Joe
  21. I disagree and don't think one thread is not enough, if the one thread was enough everyone would have refunds now. Thousands of peoples' hard earned dollars are owed while new helmets and armour are being offered on Facebook to new customers. The more threads the better, the more awareness in the hobby the better, action must be taken, this is internet fraud. I myself am not owed anything but my friends are being taken for mugs. Joe
  22. Sure thing T. I am gathering a list of what people are owed. Joe
  23. This is getting ridiculous. Dan Laws and Matt Gauthier think it is acceptable to take collectors/costumers hard earned money and then do nothing. These guys owe $$$'s in unfulfilled orders. Please copy and post what you are owed below, once all the information is collated, appropriate action can be taken. No more excuses, lies and BS. This has to end. Date ordered Item ordered Amount Paid
  24. Fair point but troopers at least look cool! Joe
  25. Seriously would anyone actually wear this! I would be embarrassed to go out of the house in this. Joe
