  1. He would have been foolish to accept less than £30,000. especially after the Profiles helmet. Joe
  2. Andy is a top guy and you have absolutely no worries dealing with him at all. Joe
  3. Are you sure Mark? These are certainly not hand painted and look like decals or at least pen or paint on paper then stuck on. EDIT: The SFS photo above looks like they are stuck on too, see the white edges to each curved blue line.
  4. I believe there were decals as well, I have a picture somewhere, will dig it up. TE saw decals on ANH helmets at the archives iirc.
  5. Yep early rt recast, these have been available for years. The face and ears are the tell areas for me. Go to Jez's site to see pictures of the early RTs, this one was before he recast a TE faceplate iirc
  6. I sent him a message to say there are a lot of pissed off people. He said to message him on Facebook, search for Matt Gauthier. Joe
  7. I don't really see the point in the new version of this armour. There is much more accurate stuff available for around the same price and available in ABS. It has no lineage to anything screen used or original. It used to be a good option when nothing better was available but now there are so many more choices. I'm all for consumer choice I just don't see a place for this anymore, the only plus would be their customer service which has always been very good. If the new helmet is much more like a MR CE, why not buy a CE, it is fully assembled and ready to wear out of the box? Just my 2 cents. Joe
  8. Nice bucket, the cap is slightly inaccurate (for 100% movie accurate nuts), but it is a very good lightweight trooping bucket. 100% genuine GF Vers 2. I have owned 2 of these in the past. You could upgrade to Keith's mic tips as an optional extra. Joe
  9. Thanks guys, as Mike has said before it is a touch bluer than the grey humbrol. Mike has the exact details from when he did the match at the recent con. They were re-attached during the restoration so I am not sure how they were attached, there was glue all over the helmet though! Joe
  10. Here's some from my ESB/Jedi helmet, these were papery to the touch, very poor quality. These are the same as the ESB helmets. More proof that they were made at the time of ESB and not Jedi as per TM's theory. A friend of mine has scans of these but I haven't heard from him in a while. Joe
  11. Here's a RF helmet showing the black underneath on the rear decal. Joe
  12. Paul my esb/Jedi helmet was paper you are right, don't know about Jedi but it looks like vinyl. I will be commissioning mike to do ultra accurate decals for my upcoming helmet run. Should we try paper for ESB/background and vinyl for Jedi?
  13. I think they are grey humbrol silk screened onto black vinyl with an adhesive underneath
  14. Go to the original prop blog, he has been selling replica superman suits as original film used suits. He is a fraudster. Caveat Emptor......
  15. Avoid like the plague. Do your research on here.......
  16. That was very funny!
  17. Using them as reference is fine, dropping them in silicone is considered to be recasting. I would say a photo record documenting the sculpt would be fine. Have a look around the forum there are so many threads on this subject. It can get a little boring for a lot of us as these issues have been beaten to death so many times! Have fun. Joe
  18. But no doubts it is from that Jedi bucket, it matches up perfecty.
  19. You are right some did some didn't have rivets. My first helmet did not and the second did. I have pictures of others that do have rivets. Seems to be more on the RF versions.
  20. Good eye! Deco the same, although as decals show they must have taken copies from the outside. I wonder if they did moulds from the inside too? They would have had to ruin the rivets and unglue the ears, so maybe he did just do the outside. Will have to ask the big man himself.

    RT-mod helmet

I used to sell these in kit form a few years back on ebay. They really do look cool, easy to assemble and look pristine when finished. Joe
  22. Exactly, we all take it way too seriously sometimes!
  23. All this could be sorted by LFL casting an original ANH suit and helmet and forming copies. It is delicate work but not exactly hard with the millions Lucas has......
  24. Go to looksirdroids.com more pics than you can shake a stick at!
  25. matt aka TE found a screen used helmet from ROTJ. He took moulds of that helmet, and vac formed a run of helmets. A friend of his also did fibreglass casts from the moulds, this looks like one of those copies. The original run was over 10 years ago. As far as I'm aware the ears Matt used were original Jedi ones not ANH ones.
