  1. I have some generic motorcycle anti fog spray that I used once. It worked pretty well until I ended up taking out my lens and washing it.... now I rely on my fan because I can't find the spray bottle. -Eric
  2. A unibit is your friend (otherwise known as a stepped drill bit) ---------- Pilot holes... pilot holes... pilot holes. -Eric
  3. I'm sure others will have more to say (Glen?) but I would suggest trying to get your back plate and kidney a little closer. The gap seems a little big to me. The top ridge of your sniper knee doesn't look like its glued down. Others may correct me but the return edge on the bottom of your chest looks a little big to my eyes. Can your thighs come up a little bit? It looks like the thigh pack interferes with your shin. Same with the sniper knee. If your thighs can't come up more because of the cod I suggest raising the ab/cod to accomodate. Boy do the NE shoulder bells look big! Again.... great job on the strapping system. -Eric
  4. Nice clean build. Excellent use of screen accurate hardware and strapping. Shame we couldn't have a more challenging EIB application for Funkytrigger's first approval as DO Congrats trooper! -Eric
  5. About fricking time! Enjoy the build -Eric
  6. I think I broke tapatalk on a few different forums recently. I need to block off some time and re-install across the board. I'll let you know when that happens. -Eric
  7. Troopers, Please let me be the first to congratulate Funkytrigger as he steps into his new role as the FISD Deployment Officer. Phil brings his UKG style keen eye, dedication to FISD and Troopers Helping Troopers, as well as experience as a FISD armorer to the position. Our beloved Swede Locitus is taking a step back from the rigorous responsibility of this demanding role. He still remains on staff as my right hand server man. Mathias contributes to the smooth running of FISD in the ways that no one would ever notice. Thank you Mathias for all of your hard work and perseverance as our DO and everything you still do as our resident server admin and Unix nerd. With Aloha, -Eric
  8. Enjoy the ride. It'll be over before you know it We're here for when you have questions. -Eric
  9. Elton John dressed as a stormtrooper a strip club? -Eric
  10. +1 for Eastbay in the hot weather - -Eric
  11. Backwards cap = creepy. I mean its really freaking me out man. -Eric
  12. I dunno folks. This is an excellent example of someone with older and out of date armor trying as hard as he can to look his best. There are still nitpicks to address I'm sure, but thank you for leading the way for folks with FX to go EIB. Aloha, -Eric
  13. Cruising along nicely -Eric
  14. I just laughed in an out loud manner.... For reals. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. It takes more time to set up and layout than it does to drill the holes that's for sure. There are some templates around somewhere you can use to line them up along the barrel. Basically once you locate all your hole locations zap a small pilot hole in each. Then use a unibit (tapered/stepped drill bit) to drill each one slowly. No need to have the drill spinning at top speed. -Eric
  16. FYI: Metal clips are a base requirement these days -Eric
  17. June 2013 Troops, It's been a while since we've handed out a FISD Achievement award but its time again to recognize one of our own. Congratulations to Glen TK-85421 (gmrhodes13) of the Terror Australis garrison. This Centurion's daily dedication to Troopers Helping Troopers has earned him this medal. It is clear that Glen reads every thread religiously and posts often. He is always on hand to welcome a new member warmly. Many TKs come to FISD, learn what they need to learn, grab their EIB and rarely pop back in. Glen is one of the few who has stuck around to perpetuate the community based resource that is the FISD. Thanks man. With Aloha, -Eric
  18. I'm tired enough to take a troop nap right now... and I'm not even wearing armor. -Eric
  19. I connected one side and put on my kit with the undersuit and had my wife pull the elastic until it seemed ok. She marked the elastic for me and it was easy to place the next snap. -Eric
  20. I've got one of those Schampa Coolskin dealios and it works great even in hot weather. -Eric
