  1. It really depends on the appearance request. Some people request certain characters and what not. Some events are supposed to be strictly canon (even ones not requested from lucasfilm) and is offen up to each individual garrison/outpost how canon the troop is. It's probably a better question for the NEG boards. I know that they troop a ton in around the Boston metro area and I doubt you'd find a lack of events to troop as a magma. -Eric
  2. Your DL is 6'5" FYI. I'd prefer to be Vader of course. Yeah it sound like a trimming/elastic issue to me. Pics! -Eric
  3. You got it. Here is the post that lists the latest application requirements: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/22583-expert-infantry-application-guidelines/ -Eric
  4. Isn't there a way to end a poll instead of remove it? Please don't ever remove someone else's poll again. It's rude. -Eric
  5. I'm not crazy. You're the one that's crazy. If it wasn't for Repo Man... I'd have no taste in music whatsoever. -Eric
  6. I both Karin's white ones... as well as the painted version and they rock. Can't recommend her work enough. She'll probably reply to a PM here if facebook doesn't work for you. -Eric
  7. What he said! Assembling your own armor is also amazingly addictive. You'll open up a whole new world of hobby you never knew you cared about. It's not that difficult. There are uncrafty people here in FISD that do it all the time and make it to Centurion... which isn't that hard if you do it from the get go. Good luck on whatever you choose. We're here to help regardless. Aloha, -Eric
  8. Crack torch to the rescue! -Eric
  9. He lives! Thanks for the photos Tom. Looks like you've been enjoying your respite from FISD politics Aloha, -Eric
  10. Kickass! Thanks for posting this. -Eric
  11. Nicely done trooper. Great looking blaster you got there. I do agree that the weathering was a bit much though... awesome build. -Eric
  12. That number gets larger the more neurotic and nervous you are -Eric
  13. Nice work as always Gaz. Fun to follow along too. -Eric
  14. I recently made some dumb comment on the legion boards to the effect if "Don't worry about nit picking death trooper approvals, how many of them will there really be?" After I made that faux pas a handful of them came out of the woodwork. Boy am I going to be wrong. Looking good trooper. Can't wait to see the final project. -Eric
  15. You can't be possibly talking about our silly broken dumb forum search -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Nicely done trooper. That's a great looking bucket you've got there. -Eric
  17. Radio schlock has an omni directional lavalier mic that will work in a pinch. Or find a gaming mic. -Eric
  18. Not only is centurion worth going for... It's not much more work to do when you're building your armor. Good luck and have fun with your build. It'll be over before you know it! -Eric
  19. Derek, We have a long history if answering the same questions over and over again. It's kinda what makes FISD great. I know I've linked previous threads as an answer and told people to use the search luke. I think there's a forum leaning curve on top of a TK learning curve. I doubt anything we do will stop people from posting repeat questions without doing a little research. Also... Our forum search (albeit better these days) kinda blows. On archiving for sale threads... I am strongly opposed to archiving much of anything. I do not see a compelling reason to archive them. I'd rather keep the history around. And... There are not only lots of African Americans in the legion and even on staff here on FISD. Aloha and thank you for your continued dedication to the FISD. -Eric
  20. Mike: While I was on staff during the last kurfuffle I probably wasn't paying as much attention to it as I could have. I personally care less about lineage as much as I do about transparency, accountability, and permission. The reason a recast like ATA is on our vetted list is because not only do we know where it comes from, but he was open about the permission he gained to do so. If you can provide me and/or the staff (via PM or email if you prefer) with that proof of permission from CAP and whoever else your armor comes from (TE2?), after some discussion I may be willing to consider putting you armor on the vetted seller's list. Mathias: I'll this from here thanks. Aloha, -Eroc
  21. It's true that the CRLs will likely never dictate what is seen on the inside of the armor. For example my crotch "rivets" have nothing to do with mechanically snapping the elastic down under there. The FISD approach to CRL change is to take it slow. Slow not only due to the largely policitcal process of changing the requirements, but it also becomes confusing to community and new recruits alike. I expect to be pushing another set of CRL changes on the LMO team some time this fall before my term is up. All of those changes will effect EIB and Centurion, but the bracket screws are not on that list. Aloha, -Eric
  22. Zach, Recasting is quite frowned upon. The vetted vendors of white plastic spend a ton of time, energy, and money on their product. Recasting what they sell is tantamount to taking money out of their pocket and ripping them off. I suggest taking a look at this list of vendors and purchasing your armor from a reputable purveyor of armor. If you do we're happy to help you put it together. Just ask away. Otherwise, if you really feel it necessary to recast someone's armor please take the discussion elsewhere. Thanks, -Eric
  23. Nicely said Andy. For reals. -Eric
  24. My costume coveting goes far and wide. That would end up in divorce and/or bankruptcy. -Eric
  25. Looking great Reza. It's also about darn time Pre-congrats trooper! -Eric
