  1. The weight isn't so much of the issue. It's part of it, but the loss of movement causes majority of the stiffness. I can't roll my shoulders or move my head to stay loose. Ever fly with a slightly heavy backpack? It's that same feeling of soreness except it comes a lot faster due to loss of movement.
  2. I had a BLAST my first troop lol. The Mando Merc I was with kept saying I was having more fun than all the people at the picnic. My highlight of the day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oyUgyPLVTU
  3. I really like the leather ones pictured in the CRL that's why I went with them.
  4. As far as pouches go, you can pretty much use what a Sandy uses. If you look around some of these threads, you'll see approved HWT's with them. There is always someone selling pouches so plenty of examples. As far as a backpack, you can use the same that a Sandy uses or you can go with something more along the lines of the Battlefront game pack. What you see in the picture is just an example. You'll see both types of backpacks in the threads. For great packs, check out anything by Dirty Boy or Quartermaster (here and at MEPD). My only personal recommendation is with the backpack. If you think you 'might' want to go Sandy at some point down the road, definitely go with a Sandy backpack. I have no intentions taking my current armor Sandy so I went with a game version pack. If I were to change my mind down the road, I'll have to get another pack.
  5. Thank the guys at RS Props for the armor lol. Those guys do amazing work. As far as the pack goes, it was built by Quartermaster. I guess you can say this is the v1 of the pack since he has a newer design now. You'll see the ribbed panel in the screenshots he initially used for reference. If you're reading this Quartermaster, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/17829-hwt-game-version-pack-built/ Anyway.... I have a lot of fun in this setup. I'm amazed on how many people LOVE the T-21 lol. On average, I can get two to three hours in the full setup before my shoulders just get too painfully stiff and have to down dress to TK. I love Sandys and all, but being able to dress down to a TK was why I chose the HWT setup EDIT: Next step is to decrease that gap at the top of my thighs. They're too loose. I'm pretty sure that would hold me up from EIB for TK and HWT (along with battle scuffing suggestion by captsafe66).
  6. GML approved me today Now to wait for a couple of things to arrive in the mail from various people so I can work on getting a few more costumes added to the ole profile.
  7. I do need to tighten up the top of the thighs lol. I noticed that a couple of weeks back. It looks like a lost a little size in the thighs. I can't take this EIB because that would require battle wear eliminating being able to dress down. Normal TK might be different though...
  8. Nope. That's the reason I went with the game version pack. I've had this setup for awhile now. I just never had it added to my ID. Lately, I've started out trooping in this setup initially and dress down to standard TK when my shoulders just get too stiff. Drop the pauldren, backpack, T21, switch belts, and grab my blaster. G2g at that point lol. EDIT: Oh yea.. and grab my thermal detonator lol
  9. I have my thighs pulled up way too high lol. My backpack straps were hanging down. I didn't have a mirror or anything before the shots were taken.
  10. I received an email from someone that was coordinating the whole event (I was just there with a booth). They have my stuff at their office. I wasn't trooping alone. I had a handler with me. It was his first time doing it though, and we were more or less getting 'the boot' out that room. It was myself and a member of the Mando Mercs doing the event. Very very few active here in Anchorage (been working on getting recruits hard). Fairbanks is a totally different story though lol. Soooo.... No one has done anything like this? No horror stories?
  11. I can't believe I did what I did today. Aker, ICOMM, and other tidbits gone. I had started getting into costume and had pulled several items out of my tote. I was asked to leave and go change in the restroom instead. I left my plastic container with all my goodies sitting there >.< I really didn't think much of it while suiting up. I thought I just left it at the house. Nope... Well... This is a rather expensive lesson to learn. Triple check everything anytime you pull something out of your tote and/or putting something in. What's one of those 'lesson learned' some of you have experienced? I pretty sure theft is someone a common item. I'd like to hear. Thanks! Patrick
  12. More pictures are definitely needed. I'm not an expert like most guys here, but the belt is low as already pointed out. Also, it looks like the forearms and biceps are pretty loose, but we'll let the pros chime in on that lol.
  13. This is the exact one I have. RS Props included it in their package deal. It is from Extreme Racing. I'm 6'0 and hover around 190 lbs. It has a nice snug fit to it. It can be a little toasty though. If you're in a hot area, I'd go with something else. If you're in a somewhat cool/cold area, it's perfect. It also adds just a tad bit of padding for snug armor. It does pull sweat away as it says. I also wear a thin sweat wicking shirt and bicycle shorts underneath. I do feel, since it has some thickness to it, that it prevents scapes/pokes in the event of a sharp cut of the plastic. Of course, you'd want to prevent those in the long run regardless. You also will not have to worry about bunching or stuff like that. A downfall of the suit is that I've noticed it is starting to fade. Not super bad or anything, but a tad. It is fabric so it will fade. Also, even though it is a benefit too, it is pretty snug. Some people don't like that. I definitely don't have the body to wear this without the armor lolol. It will come down to personal preference. This suit is my main suit I wear. I have a set of UnderArmor, but I really enjoy the overall feel of the suit.
