  1. Thanks for the kind words guys! Believe me I've been pouring over all the build threads as well as the pre approval threads throughout the past month and a half, haha. Luckily due to a snafu on FedEx's part I have some extra ABS to work/practice with before I touch the armor

  3. Hiya folks! My name's Dixon, posting from sunny (not really) Nashville TN. Within a week or two now I'll have my first kit coming in all the way from the UK courtesy of Paul (Troopermaster). I have absolutely zero costuming experience, and my construction experience is limited to an eagle scout project done many many moons ago, so I figured it'd be good to get this ball rolling early as I have some questions before BBB day arrives. My girlfriend and I are in the process of getting supplies together beforehand; we're going to be getting some E6000 pretty soon here, but I just wanted to confirm: about how many bottles I can expect to use throughout this process?

  4. Hey Names Rob, just ordered my first Kit from ATA Works. My Helmet is on its way. The Rest of the Kit is about 4 weeks out. Really excited about doing this. Something I have wanted to do for a really long time. Been reading all the pages about building for some time now. Will try reaching out to the local Garrison here in Seattle if I need to.

  5. Thanks Dan! I'd be lying if I said I haven't been watching your build with great interest. I'll for sure be looking at your threads as a resource as yours looks great and there's not a ton of in depth TM build threads floating about.

  7. 1. You should cut these down a bit, especially to get rid of the 90 degree angle at the front. Anovos is famous for the return edge on the neck splitting/cracking (red arrows). If you want to keep that return edge, be sure to add a thin (1/4 inch) shim** behind it. I would suggest losing it altogether. ** One solid curved piece... don't use short ones. You can trim the tops down as much as needed, just follow the existing curves. BUT, do this before final fitting (gluing the backs together). VERY important! The bottoms of the thighs can be kept like they are, just sand down those rough edges. Keep up the great work, and keep those questions (and photos) coming!

  14. I just recently painted my ab plates too and found it really helpful to paint the black underneath first. (At least on a few screen suits the buttons were painted black before grey and blue.) That way I already had a rough guide before I applied the top coats grey and blue.

  17. Yeabuddy. Check out Rogue Repro on the Faceballs for a great rear zipper closure. Jeff also has a cool strapping tutorial up to give you good ideas. Keep at it, enjoying following your build as I progress with mine!

  20. I'm interested! Although I feel I am almost done and have soon anyways gotten ahold of the required things, it can't hurt to have extras. My main interest though is the patches and notebook. Can I still enter as I started mid october and is not quite done yet? If so, could the number be.... 381?

  29. It looks like you have the placement on the shoulder bridges just right, Jonathan, and glad to see you removed the large tab! As long as you have enough to go a few inches over the top tabs on the back plate (and it looks like you do) you are golden.

  33. @ Germain (The5thHorseman): Thanks! That background was the most appropriate I found. Although it was quite tricky to get all these pictures done without being seen fully suited up by others... Any idea what I can do to prevent the butt plate from riding over the kidney plate? @ Steve (gazmosis): Okay, you're right. Will send you the armor AND put that crappy blaster on top, so you can add both to your collection of bad TKs and E-11s from other members here. By the way, how many do you have meanwhile?
