  2. True story: when we marched in the Rose Parade back in 2007, on the bus ride there nearly everyone was standing in armor. On the way back, *everyone* found a way to sit!

  3. Wait, I'm at 195 this month... I can do this. Also hit this milestone Yay, I did it! But now the important question: should this be celebrated or should someone start an intervention? Shout-out to @MaskedVengeance, who started the January meme chaos, @gmrhodes13 who was a driving force behind many of these late night meme sessions, and @TKSpartan who gave me the idea of trying to reach 100 Memes in one month. As evidenced, I went a bit beyond that goal, but it was super fun! Now, I probably will dial back the amount of memes shared on here, because 200 Memes in one month was pure insanity and I've got absolutely no idea how I did it All Memes counted together, this meme marks the FISD hitting exactly 500 Memes this month. Wow. Thank you so much to everyone who has participated during this, whether it was one meme or 202 memes. This is truly incredible. Over 150 Memes by Glen, 66 by Caleb, @revlimiter with a strong 45, @jsilvius with 12 memes... and many others chiming in as well Oh, and @Nairy? I gotta agree -- it's a wonder the Imgur Database hasn't crashed yet in light of these numbers

  4. Most TK's have found it to be possible to sit in their armor, once they tried to sit, so I'm pretty sure that we will indeed soon see TK's sitting everywhere @revlimiter Thanks for the offer! I'll have to get to work on that tutorial soon it seems. I'll keep you updated -- thanks for the offer

  5. Clearly a sitting tutorial is needed. I can add my own pix to it also @Morgi

  6. Welcome my friend! Also, believe it or not, we do create bad memes Should I create a tutorial? I feel like I should create a tutorial. There's been way too much disbelief lately

  12. Hey everyone, I'm wanting to join my local garrison but looking at all the info about making a costume is super daunting and overwhelming. What's the best way top go about making a costume and is there anyone in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia who would be willing to give me a hand? Thanks, Andrew

  14. Thanks Chemi that is a great suggestion. Have to see if I can easily find a v tab. And if so I only use glue on the bottom side right?

  15. Hi Scott! I will be the DO who will review your application. In order to move along, I would like to ask you for a favor. The full body images(the side views of the blaster as well) have a very low resolution, which does not allow me to see all the details, could you change them for higher resolution ones? That would be great. You can edit the first post and change them there. I also need you to add the following photo: -Close-up of ab/kidney rivets Thanks!!!

  16. Really depends on the supplier and if they are sending a kit or completed. One of our members has waited @ 6 months for a completed kit.

  17. I mean, February is shorter. There's no way it can also hold 500 of the things. We need a 500 memes pin.

  18. Sorry to have hijacked the thread, but I am very happy to see we have found a common problem many of us have that a few people have solved. In no time I suspect we will see TKs sitting everwhere

  19. My butt plate has no return edge, so there's no weak spots to crack. Flat ABS bends very nicely. I haven't had any problems with it at all.

  21. Thank you for the link. I had picked up the DO3D files before looking at joining the 501st and I can already pick out differences. The eyes, frown and tears are slightly different when I compare it to other ANH Stunt helmets in the forums. I will finish it for the fun of it and practice though. I looked at the other sites I mentioned above along with Thingiverse but I felt that the helmet and other parts of the armor would not meet the CRL due to inconsistencies. I will make Chris’ helmet/armor along with the one from DO3D and post pictures of both.

  22. According to your legion profile your TK has been retired, you would need to speak with your GCO or GML if you still have a TK costume. Hang tight on general 501st access, A.C. will be along soon RETIRED COSTUMES TK - Stormtrooper: ANH Stunt TX - Swamp Trooper SL - Darth Vader: ESB TI - TIE Pilot: Original Trilogy TR - Royal Guard: ROTS TR - Senate Guard: ROTS

  23. Chestplate strapping is the one true factor. If your chestplate can touch your ABS belt, you're good to go, as Adam said. I personally haven't even needed mobility cuts so far -- even a little bit of space can go a long way. If you can bend your knees and hip joints by 80° as well you've got all the necessary mobility for running, kneeling, sitting or even laying down. Tbh, I've got a row of cracks in my codpiece and a few in my buttplate -- from my Codsnap getting stuck and me pulling too hard. If you're careful when initially sitting down you probably won't have any problems. The Buttplate is bendy and the codpiece gets little to no pressure thanks to the flexible chest strapping, which allows for the abplate to simply be pushed up.

  26. These are all from one of my group chats and were shared yesterday evening. Therefore, credit goes not only to me, but also to several of my friends (tagging @CommanderWoufWouf for some of these) ... I still don't know if this is about me sharing memes or about me convincing everyone to build a TK And because we're mostly a group of university students: Oh, and one for @revlimiter and @MaskedVengeance:

  32. Thanks so much, Mario! I'm looking forward to being the bestest bad guy there is. Right on, Adam! Most of my family are amazed, and at the same time confused, by my TK build. And you attending DC basically means I gotta go now. You gonna bring your kit and participate in the parade? If so, we also need to kit up and make the Chaos Div @Morgi and @Swoby proud! Thanks Jorge! I'm gonna be tagging you in my Attache app when I submit. And I now have no excuse to get down to Rome, Kennesaw, Marietta, or ATL to troop and finally snag that hardware from you! Thanks for following along, Randy! And don't worry, finishing my HWT is on the docket for this year! Thanks Jonatan! Now I just gotta catch up on my build thread and the PDF, which is already nearly 200 pages long! Stay safe with those blades!

  34. For those aiming for Centurion (or just looking to be more screen accurate) and have gaps in the lower thigh ridges, the usual way to fill them was ABS paste. That method (although tried and true) can take quite a bit of time, uses acetone and has be sanded down and polished afterward. Below is an alternative that should take less than 15 minutes and is super easy using a moldable epoxy called SUGRU (info. at bottom of this post). It is permanent, flexible, keeps it's color, will adhere to almost any surface and clean-up is a breeze. For those in Australia, a similar product that can be used is Loctite Kintsuglue (white) available at Bunnings. Link here. Thanks to Glen @gmrhodes13 for the heads-up! For this tutorial I will be using a mock-up of a thigh ridge as an example. Materials needed: 1. 1 packet of white SUGRU 2. Small scrap(s) of ABS or any thin white plastic. 3. Small straight-edge knife 4. Pliers (if using ABS) 5. Paper towel NOW LET'S GET TO IT! Step 1- Cut small shims as needed (photo 2) to cover the rear of the gap and give the Sugru something to adhere to. If using ABS, I suggest popping the scrap in boiling water for a few minutes to soften it up and allow it to conform to the correct shape (photo 3). This is where the pliers come in. It does NOT have to fit perfectly. Step 2- After you have the right shape, cut it to fit (photo 4). Step 3- Glue it in place (photo 5). CA (super) glue is fine for this as it will not be seen. DON'T WORRY ABOUT ANY TINY GAPS- the Sugru will fill them! 1 2 3 4 5 HINT: Wash your hands before using this product so you don't discolor it while applying. Step 4- Roll a small piece of the Sugru into a strip (photo 6) and then press it firmly into place (photo 7) filling the entire gap (don't forget the back side). Step 5- Using the knife edge, cut off the excess at an angle (photo 8), otherwise you may remove some of the filled area. Step 6- Wipe the edges with a paper towel to remove any residue (photo 9) being careful not to touch the filled area. 6 7 8 9 DONE! That was easy, right? Let it dry for 12 hours or so and you are good to go. Examples of filled gaps in screen used ridges SUGRU is available online or in many retail shops, but it is sold in sets of 3 packets- normally around $10.00. **Available in the UK in single packets for £3.15- Link here. A big shout-out to Ben @Ebio Amisi for this idea!
