I'm back Honestly, I don't blame anyone for not voting in the CRL Polls. If you aren't sure about the armor details, there's no need to vote on them. Is being known for memes better than being known as the one trooper who invites everyone to play limbo in armor? Asking for a friend4 points

Hello! I got my TKID last week, and I could not have done it without the help of my brother, dad, and AJ of the Cloud City Garrison. I'm also now receiving lots of help/advice from Joseph, so thank you to him as well! Also, I posted a topic in the new members area (even though I'm a month-old member) because it seemed like a good place for a general intro! Looking forward to serving with you all!3 points

Hello everyone, my name is Marek! I've been a trooper on this platform for about a week now and a member for about a month, but I figured I'd introduce myself anyway. I'm currently stationed in Oregon with the Cloud City Garrison. I'm 20 years old and having ANH TK armor has been a dream of mine for about five years now. I received the armor as a gift from my dad in the best way possible: unboxing the suit whilst surrounded by 501st members. The suit is my first costume/armor ever, and I plan to work towards the Centurion requirements here in the next week or two! I'm here because I want to others in the public (perhaps the younger generations, most of all) to experience the same level of excitement and wonder that I felt when I first came face to face with a trooper nearly 16 years ago. A couple of other quick things about me: I am currently working on a motion control rig (like the one used in The Mandalorian) because I am interested in pursuing a career in film and television. Additionally, although I haven't gone practiced it in a while, I like to spend time doing Star Wars toy photography! The experience I've had on here has been nothing but positive. It's an honor to be part of this group of amazing people! Me on bottom right, 20062 points

Hi Marek, and thank you for your EIB application for ANH Stunt! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations, sir! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Please note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Overall a super nice build job on this build, brother, and thanks you for posting up those requested photos and the quick fixes! Below are a few items that will not affect Level 3 approval but we feel would make this armor look even better! Let's get started, mi amigo... 1. We noticed that your bucket is riding a bit high. Not all noggins are made the same- and our field of vision while wearing a helmet is limited at best, so as long as you can see clearly it is fine, but if your eyes are at a level lower than the yellow line below it may be a good idea to remove or reduce any padding you have in the top to help you see better! Reference images The strapping that connects your biceps/forearms is pretty noticeable. I think the return edges on the bottom of the biceps is causing this by pushing it out, so you may want to move it toward the front to some degree (closer to the front cover strip) to make it less apparent. Reference image 2 quick items here- Ideally end of the canvas belt is hidden behind the TD, and a quick trim would give you a more screen accurate appearance. Also, when suiting up, ask the person helping you to make sure your TD is pushed all the way down. Reference images You mentioned that you were going out on your first troop soon, and you may notice that after a while that the tops of the right thigh (front and back) are (were) poking into you while you walked. These points can also potentially snag on your under suit. From a comfort standpoint, I would recommend rounding those out. Trust me on this one. Reference images The angle on your sniper knee plate should be a little sharper. BUT, if you decide to do this (wink wink, nudge nudge) don't make the corner a sharp one. Reference images Centurion Requirements; In this section we prepare you for Centurion. Because Centurion photos show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. First, don't be alarmed by all the issues below! Most are fairly simple things to deal with, and I honestly think it will take no more than an hour or two of your time to get them sorted. As you know, Centurion level is all about the small details. As stated above, some items below may not be listed in the CRL, but for a more screen accurate appearance we also rely on screen captures and official images for approval at Level 3. As stated in the CRL for Level 2, "Ideally the tube stripes are positioned approximately a pencil width from the side of the cheek" (which is right at ¼ inch). Although not stated as a requirement, we have traditionally insisted on this for Centurion. If you are willing to remove them for Level 3, I have an extra set of decals I am happy to send you for free (I'll even pay postage).. just let me know. You did a fantastic job on removing the extra paint from the teeth, so now it's time to use those skills to remove the extra paint on the bottom of your lower blue button on the large ab plate. Reference images This could be a tricky one depending on how you attached it, but the return edges need to be completely removed from the sides of the small ab-button plate. It should sit flat on the raised area it is mounted to. Reference images A little extra cover strip on top of the bicep is fine, but for a much better look the top of the right front should be taken down. 30 seconds with a Dremel and you are golden! Spot-on! Reference images The outside of your right drop box is in perfect alignment with the end of your ABS belt as required, but the left one looks like it needs some E-6000 behind the strap to hold it in place. EASY fix! Reference images Close... SO close! 100% of the return edge has to be removed. Dremel (or file) time! Reference image We need you to decrease the ab/kidney gap on the left side. This could be as simple as tightening your belt! (It doesn't have to be 100% closed, btw). Last up, bottom of the cover strip on your right calf is ideal, but we are requesting that you trim the left one to match. An EASY 20 second fix with your Dremel or Lexan scissors. And that's it, brother. It's obvious that you put a lot of pride into this build.. and it shows! We are here for you if you need any help.. I have 100% confidence that you can jump on these items and sincerely hope to see that Centurion submission soon. Now get out there and show off that armor as the newest EI in the Cloud City Garrison!2 points

That is always great to hear, Marek. Helping Troopers (or future Troopers) is what we do best! One thing I always like to suggest is that those who have learned from this site is to "pay it forward" and stay as active as you can here to help those with questions. You don't need to be an armor expert (although you are fast becoming one), and often it's a matter of just sharing your thoughts or experience on a subject or even if it's just to say "Hello and welcome to the FISD" to a first-time poster. That can mean a lot to someone venturing into this realm for the first time.1 point

So I had an interesting conversation over the weekend about this. Someone reached out to me asking about an ROTK accessory. I asked them who the maker of their armor was because the sizes they were providing seemed very odd, and they replied that it's a "scaled 3D print kit from Makerofthings." I haven't found the STL files yet, but if what this person told me is correct, Makerofthings has taken their recast of @jimmiroquai's work and scanned it into 3d files. I'll keep looking, but it's just another thing to be aware of, especially since 3D printing is becoming a popular option.1 point

An honor, Soldiers! I've been into costumes my entire life, and anticipated Halloween every year. My favorite holiday simply for the cosplay. Star Wars was my go-to. Loved it since the beginning. Obsessed with the Empire. But I could never find opportunity for a Convention... When I learned about the 501st, it became my dream. For years, I perfected my costuming abilities, and finally met requirements for approval! I look forward to giving my service! -222051 point

Thank you so much for all of the help along the way! I will get to work on those Centurion requirements very soon, and let you know if I have any questions! Thank you again!! Edit: And while I'm thinking about it, if you wouldn't mind sending the tube stripe decals, I would love to get to work on that and make the armor as accurate as possible! Thank you!1 point

Most armor makes can reach L3 Centurion, it's all about the assembly and research Again AM is for the bigger person so if you are average height and weight I would go for another make. Some like durability over accurateness, I went with ATA (no longer available) as it's a stronger thicker ABS plastic but not as accurate, RS is extremely accurate but very thin and can crack easily. Looking through others build threads and also the Centurion approvals is a good guide to helping select what armor is for you. Note many have the armor makers initials in their threads1 point

Note AM/Dave's armor is made for the larger frame/height, 5' 11" you have lots of options1 point

I don't personally have a full AM suit, but I know that it is a reputable one. However, there are also other great vendors too, which can be found on the post below. Some armors fit various body types better than others, but you should really be perfectly fine with any at your height and weight, which are basically the same as mine. I would definitely recommend getting your helmet and armor from the same vendor, and preferably from the same armor run to ensure the white plastic is color matched. That's not to say that you can't mix and match, but uniformity is best achieved when sticking with the same maker. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/1 point

Welcome to the home of shiny white armor, Matt! AM armor is certainly well suited for L3 approval, and below I've linked to several of my favorite AM build threads. I even formatted AJ/s into a PDF file for ease of access on tablets or print, and this first thread below is actually a "master" compilation of resources that I've found helpful on my own 501st journey. Towards the bottom of the thread are additional links to AM build threads and EI and Centurion approval requests. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40831-ajs-of-am-20-build/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31920-ukswraths-am-10-build/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/49991-oddvikings-anh-stunt-build-am-45-centurion/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/44658-ltms-am-tk-anh-build/ p.s. Dave makes my personal favorite version of the various thermal detonators out there, and it includes one of the few accurately-sized (to screen-used) tubes available in the US, which is also an appropriate color that likely doesn't need to be painted.1 point

I've been using these, painted black, for a bit of cleaner look with the same effect, if it helps! I epoxy the posterior side in place and they've worked well. You'll find you have less cracking edges and a significantly better range of movement and better fitting suit if you ditch the brackets though.... Being able to have your chest plate overlap your ab when you lean forward alone is worth it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07793L26V1 point
