TK-85421 Requesting Death Trooper Centurion Status (ATA) For your consideration: Centurion Application = No 10 Costume = Death Trooper Costume CRL Link = https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_deathtrooper Name = Glen "Q" Rhodes TKID = 85421 Forum Name = gmrhodes13 Legion Profile = https://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=15264&costumeID=241 EIB Application = https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/51526-tk-85421-requesting-death-trooper eib status-ata / Garrison/Squad = Desert Scorpion GarrisonArmor = ATAHelmet = ATAHeight = 5'11"Weight = 78kg \ No I didn't weather the DLT-19, I actually left it in the barracks when I was initially infected with the Blackwing virus and it never got used again as all I was then thinking about was brains.2 points

I have one of Jim's Sith troopers, now I have more than a few medical issues and I find it quite heavy compared to my ABS costumes. Other issues with the flexible fiberglass is it can crack in places which are under any strain, or as I found round pieces can go oval when stored, I think this was a curing issue and was fixed by strapping round again and storing for some time. Now in saying all of that I know of other troopers who don't have issue with the weight and although have suffered a few cracks they have fixed with a fiberglass auto filler and touched up the paint. Hey we get cracks in any armor, ABS, 3D print and fiberglass. ABS suppliers KB props, also 850 armor works, and recently Walt's (WTF) all on Facebook, now those kits are pretty new and I've heard a few issues with the helmet pieces aligning but no real feedback on the armor, there are a couple of builds currently on the forum which you may want to take a look at. No matter which kit they all need some filling and painting unlike an OTTK. There is another option of 3D printed we have one on the forum BUT I've not compared the details or if it would pass 501st approval, it's the same with most files, until you see them in hand you really don't know. Definitely go through some of the builds, you will find most have the armor make in the titles. Good luck with the research.2 points

Worked on trimming and sanding the edges on the shoulder bells... I almost cut along the "straight line" on the bell extension bit and glad I did not as it would not have had the correct curve!2 points

Started trimming today! This is for next time! That's it for today, took over 5 hours.2 points

Thank you Joseph, well no football team for the time being, accomplished my goal and I think I'll step away for a while2 points

Cheers Richard; It should be first blue I believe there is an issue in the coding, won't allow going over 9, I don't think the detachment even had 9 costumes way back then Blue stars goes up to 14 so we should be covered for a while, I think we just roll over to another color star after that, wouldn't be the first time I've broken a detachments higher level system though Had to change my avatar for that occasion2 points

Hi Glen, and thank you for your 10th Centurion application! CRL and CENTURION Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Centurion. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armour. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Number 10.. WOW! Congrats on that momentous number, brother. One more and you'll have enough for a football team!2 points

Hello! I hope this topic is fine, if not, feel free to remove it. So, whilst I've seen memes pop up every now and then, I haven't seen any actual thread with memes about the FISD. Because I personally love commenting the things in my life in memes, I decided to make a few memes about the FISD, based on things that I've noticed on here so far. Please feel free to share your own memes as well, if you've got any This was something that I had a bit of trouble with in the beginning... Perhaps some of you can relate, haha Don't worry, we appreciate it I've only been on here for a short time, but during that time there've been a lot of armors by Glen. Most impressive! The struggle is real. Now I just need the money and to decide on what I am going to build. "Troopers helping Troopers" really encompasses the spirit of the FISD and I appreciate that very much. No explanation needed Feel free to share some more memes or to take this post down if it's too off-topic for the off-topic area1 point

My personal preference is to start all trimming first. others prefer to satrt with the arms this thread is about return edges and can be useful . also you can check this useful thread1 point

Would seriously be up for wearing a patch to celebrate your achievements mate. Might even donate a few extra dollars for your beer fund!1 point

Thank again Chemi I had thought of getting some stars made to go on top of the EIB/Centurion pins, but I'm liking the idea of a personal patch, not sure if I could fit 10 helmets on it though1 point

Congratulations Glen... Any coins or patches to celebrate the 10th?1 point

Its the bottom of the thigh? I am going to remove all the return as you would not see it with the gasket in place, as no one will be looking from the bottom up. This will also help in making sure the plastic does not cut into the gasket material. BUT, trim back until you are comfortable (like Glen has pointed out) and you can always remove more after a trial fitting.1 point

Hi Glen, and thank you for your 10th EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. First, sorry about that Blackwing virus. Some Neosporin, a band-aid or two and a few days' rest and you should be right as rain! Shuffle along... nothing to see here. Centurion Requirements; In this section we prepare you for Centurion. Because Centurion photos show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper, be they living, dead, or somewhere in between. Maybe a manicure, but that's about it. Next up, Centurion # 10!1 point

A little bit of overkill but if you feel you need that much adhesion entirely up to you. Interesting you removed one of the raised ridges, normally we keep both as the minimum sizing, you trim 8mm from the rigde sides for a 15mm coverstrip on the arm sections. Then if needed you can add some foam inside to take up any slack, hopefully you haven't gone too small, which can happen, you want your arm pieces to look consistent in sizing. Even on the worst bent RS thighs (and they are pretty bad) with outer and inner cover strips they are strong enough to never come apart. Just make sure you rough both surfaces with coarse sandpaper before adding glue. Having an obscene amount of magnets (I have double that in the photo now), clamps and blue tape can really help speed up the assembly line.1 point

Sorry for the lack of updates. I will post more soon! In the meantime here is a sneak pack at the Pugman style ESB kit I am working on making. Some of these parts are reworked casts from ( and with permission from ) Mark at Shear Tech .1 point

Last year i made a full Stormtrooper suit including the helmet out of Eva Foam and it was not cheap when comparing it to an ABS suit. The materials and paint was around £400 and it took 3 months to build. My ABS suit cost as a kit around £600 , was half the work and took the same amount of time to build. The difference though is that my ABS suit is 501 cleared, movie accurate and will last many troops and just looks far far better when weighing up the difference. For me its a no brainier really.1 point
