  1. (My English is not very good, but I want to write something) Hello from Ukraine! My name is Alexander, I am 23 years old. As a child, I watched Star Wars and immediately liked the stormtroopers, I set myself the goal of making exactly the same suit, and after many years I did it! The guys from the Ukrainian outpost helped me, without their help I would hardly have made such armor. Thanks to them for that! TK-55535 ready for duty! \

  2. Hi Mark, and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armour. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Let start from top: As suggested in your application " you might want to think about extending the paint on the traps above the ears to fill in the indented area a little more.... Since you are a dab hand with a paintbrush this should be an easy fix! (It also wouldn't hurt to take a few mm off of the brow trim ends). " Reference images Just a dressing issue here , your right shoulder bell aligns perfectly with the chest armor and the left need just a small turn movement to the front Reference Images An additional tip to solve this detail is to remove the return edge of your Bells to get them closer to the chest. Reference Images We are suggesting to move your biceps up a bit to allow a small gap between the biceps /forearms, making this you can improve the movement and comfort when holding your blaster . Reference Images Trimming a little more your small ab buttons panel is a small detail that could give a more accurate look to your armor Reference Images This is another simple dressing issue. As seen below, your thighs are riding a bit higher and too close to the butt plate and should be lowered about an inch , this could help avoiding some armor bites. Reference Images Finally in this section , we have your E11 blaster. It looks like your ammo counter in riding a bit lower than references. We are suggesting to repositioning it. Reference Images *************************************************** Centurion Requirements; In this section we prepare you for Centurion. Because Centurion photos show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. CRL L3: Back plate shall have no, or minimal overlap of the kidney plate. It seems like your back plate is overlapping the kidney armor. Strapping between the chest plate and backplate could be tighter, this will help to move upwards the backplate . Reference Images CRL L3 :Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top. This looks like just a strapping adjustment to the Ab/Kidney connection and perhaps tightening up the canvas belt will do the trick. Doing this will ensure there's no gap and to keep the alignment at top. Reference Images CRL L3 : Canvas belt must be firm / sturdy in appearance. No creasing or sagging Some creases can be seeing along both sides of your canvas belt, you could try tightening it up or making some ironing would be needed. Reference Images Your Thermal Detonator control pad sits a little high and It needs to turns a bit lower so that the controls/round washer can be seen . This could be achieved just bending backwards a bit the metal clips to allow the TD to rotate. Reference Images Your posterior plate is riding pretty far out and really should be brought in to where it aligns with the kidney plate. Looking at your internal strapping, I think you could move or add another "V tab" to the end of the plate and this should make the fix. Move or add a new V tab to the pointed place Finally Trooper, there's a small , but noticeable, gap in the front of your left thigh . Gluing a small piece of ABS plastic behind and filling the front with ABS paste would do the job. ************************** **************************** Congratulations Mark , welcome to EIB and I'm sure you can deal with the Centurion requirements in a great manner so we'll be here waiting for your application soon.

Stavros took pride as an Imperial Security Bureau officer with the Hellenic Outpost. Stavros was one of the Outpost's most active members and could always be counted on to bring a smile to events. Along with representing the 501st Legion at conventions, Stavros supported the Make-A-Wish Foundation in costume. Our condolences go out to his family, friends. "Buckets Off" We have plenty going on in the background presently, that is keeping your staff busy preparing for a huge July. As you may or may not be aware, July 6th 2021 marks our 15th Anniversary as a detachment so lots of forward planning is in play, so expect plenty of hype when that kicks off. Presently we have the C500 pin run to close out once those are received by Justin. He will start shipping them out to as quickly as possible, so keep an eye out on the sales threads for his updates. Anniversary coin run. Still in the interest phase of proceedings, but we have had a huge response so far. I believe the total interest is around the 700 piece mark already and no doubt that has been spurred on by the fact Celebration looks to be going ahead next year. Make sure you post your interest in the thread before it closes off HERE I can confirm one of our Attache's has stepped up to the call of duty and will be helming the run when it becomes official. Please join me in thanking TK12953 jsilvius (James) for taking on the challenge of helping his fellow brothers and sisters, we are one step closer to making this all happen. Currently we have had the designs checked with a few manufacturers and with minimal adjustment, these coins can become a reality. They still require Legion and , Disney LFL approval as any merch item quantity over 250 requires the House of mouse to say yes. We don't foresee any issue here unless we get restricted on quantity, but James and I will keep you up to date once we have final approval and launch the sales thread in the near future. We will get you pricing as soon as possible and will update the interest thread with that. Next it's time to hand out a well earned piece of recognition and an award. It brings the staff great pleasure to announce this members second 3D contributors award for his continued work and update on E-11 3d files, upgrade kits for the Rogue One variant and an outstanding and most professional set of instructions for his model. All this and it is free for members to download and build for personal use. Thinking quickly, she dialed 911. The wind blew the fire and smoke quickly onto/into her own building melting her shop front, burning her chairs, melting her vinyl, and wrecking her sign. Her window frame is ruined and it needs to be replaced along with the window, and there is water damage to the front of the building and deck as well. The fire burned so hot her metal door warped. She cannot properly close up her shop. The front of her shop has literally melted. The door is custom sized and needs a to be custom built to be replaced. Not only that, but the entire front of her shop was full of fabric, papercraft, and inside of her shop that is now irreversibly smoke damaged that needs to be replaced. Even when she removes those items, there is still smoke damage to the basic structure and it needs to be professionally cleaned. The person that was in charge of the building that caught fire is without insurance and will not be paying for any of these damages. Teresa is the epitome of a "Bad Girl Doing Great". She has spent this entire pandemic sewing tens of thousands of masks, giving them out to her community, to first responders, to anyone who ever even asked both locally and all around the world. As her 501st brothers and sisters, we would like to help HER out in her time of need: Troopers helping Troopers. For this reason, we have created "Geeky Pinks Fire Restoration Fundraiser". The blood clot in his lung has gone away! Recent scans show that the first tumor is now no longer viable which is wonderful news. However, a new cancerous tumor has been found and they’ll soon be treating it with target radiation. Currently Jim’s meld score isn’t high so he’s low on the list. In about 3 months that score will increase because of the cancer. They have to wait a full 6 months in order to allow acceptation points to be added to his meld score and we are only at the 3 month mark. Now, if he can get a liver from live donor he does not have to wait till later this year for the transplant. The longer he has to wait to for these points and a deceased donor the more his likelihood of cancer forming in his liver increases. We want to thank everyone who has already reached out to the hospital about becoming a potential donor. We were overwhelmed with the amount of people who are wanting to help. If you’re interested in seeing if you could be a potential donor please message me if you have questions or call Eileen at Allegheny General Hospital at 412-359-6253. Please help Jim so he can continue to be the dad, husband and friend for many many years to come. He can’t wait to get back to trooping in his Star Wars costume and putting smiles on kids faces again. Attention fellow troopers During the forum clean up process we have discovered many build threads that are affected by Photobucket watermarks and or broken image links and missing photos. Some of these we have been able to restore to their former glory, but others not so. Many of these build threads are very very good, and the levels of detail excellent for our new members, but due to some having upwards of 40 images, they are far too much work to attempt to restore by us. We are asking that if you have a build thread on the FISD forums that it may well be subject to the issues as mentioned above. If this is the case, you can expect your thread will be re-located to a temporary holding area called "Build Threads requiring Maintenance" and will be the responsibility of the original poster to fix the photo and image issues. These build threads will only be held in this temporary area for a period of 6 months, and if not attended to in that time frame will be permanently archived. All threads that are fixed by the original poster, will be returned to their rightful homes under the specific costume designation build threads on the forums. If you value your build thread and its information please attend to it before it is moved from view. Glen and I will start to populate the maintenance sub forum over the next few days. here is the link https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/241-build-threads-requireing-maintenance/ We appreciate your assistance with this, and hope to see at least some of these brilliant builds and history restored. Thanks to Rat and Teresa for all their efforts! Also here are our mid of the year insights to the social media statistics: We've not yet reached our goal of 16.000 followers on the Facebook page, but we're well on the way to that milestone. I'm confident the numbers keep rising when we can report of our members trooping this summer. Our Facebook group is still well received with a growth of nearly 200 new members this year! The FISD Instagram account enjoys great attention and could gain 80 new followers since the beginning of this year! Even though our number of followers on twitter has slightly regressed, the profile is developing great with hundreds of profile visits and more than 1k of tweet impressions. 5. Progress pics: Base sterling finished with some minor weathering, bolt painted & installed. Inner barrel is just black PVC pipe. The grip and the bolt charging handle are the original raw cast color. Bolt is painted with Mr. Hobby dark iron and chrome silver metallic paints. Hand brushed and then rubbed to a dull shine. Also added a light layer of black wash paint from Tamiya. The end cap photo shows the wrinkle paint pattern well. I could not get the same wrinkle pattern across the entire receiver but it added some character to the blaster and made it easier to attempt some worn weathering effect. The bolt completed. Some subtle metallic weathering on the mag release button and the mag clip edges. T tracks installed and a temporary hand wound spring. Next up is the scope rail, scope and counter and then I need to finish a set of power cylinders. Almost there.

  7. Hey man! Have you made any progress on your ab to kidney issue? There were a lot of things about Walt's kit that gave me anxiety. What I did first was put a butt load of masking tape to enclose the right side of the ab to kidney section, making sure they meet perfectly at the top. Then I slide into the armor and had my wife tape the left side and made sure the top of the kidney and top of the ab plate were flush on that side as well. Then I had my wife take pictures from my back side to see if it was crooked. Just because the left side seems to appear to be lower than the other side, that could just be the natural tendency of the shape. If you put tape to make it meet with the top of your ab plate while you are wearing it, you might see that it won't be crooked. I have a feeling I didn't explain this very well. If you lost brain cells reading this I can try and explain again lol.

  21. Arigato Tino! The grip screw is set rather deep and I will try to replace that. The screw was one my dad gave me so thought to use it for this blaster but guess the threaded shaft is a bit short. I can use my resin casted part for this. The bolt paint could probably use some more work but I will leave it for now. The T tracks pretty much fit nicely after I shaped them but there was still some spacing issues. So I wrapped some tape around them all so they were squeezed flush to the receiver and then placed the blaster in my heated shower stall for about 30-40 minutes. It helped get them to sit flatter to the surface. No glue required thankfully.

  23. The wrinkle pattern turned out great. For a moment I thought to be looking at a picture of a real Sterling. The LOCK-FREE screw in the grip is a bit deep but no urgent need to correct this. Great result and a good paint job done on the inner bolt. T-tracks look very straight and perfect.

  26. Thanks for the info - I think the fact the mics are omnidirectional and not encapsulated, the pressure and vibrations can't be helped by just glue/padding. I created a panel to isolate the microphones in the ears. Unfortunately the mics that come with the kit are a little too tall for this application - and I think the SNR is a little too low. I'm planning on modding them with unidirection/cardioids with a higher SNR and lower sensitivity. I don't have a reference or baseline for the current ones, @ukswrathwould you be willing to share the specs of the mics? If not public, maybe PM?

The CRL for the armour should be straight forward, just the descriptors for the pattern of paint work. weathering and the back pack and flamer thrower, those will be where good descriptors are needed. What Red did you go with in the end, I'll see if we can get the actual paint codes used on the production costume for accuracy so we can create a guide for this costume like we have for most of our others.

  33. Hi Shawn...Could you please post a close photo of your thigh ammo belt (both sides, inside, to see the rivet type) and one photo of the rivets(6, left side of your Ab/Kidney) ?. Like This: By the way, excellent armor Shawn!!!

  34. No real surprises there. Just a couple of really nitpicky items Looks like your ab / belt are on an angle, lower on your left side, may be able to straighten with adjusting strapping Remove any loose thread from belt, you can see some between your ab and kidney Belt could come down at the back it's quite high TD could come down a little, you can see the clamps are not quite hitting the top of the belt The ab/kidney plates should not overlap You could also try to get your right back shoulder strap to sit down against the back plate. As I say these are really nitpicky details but something to watch out for for higher levels Good luck with approval

  35. Great finds, Henry. Thank you for posting here. Looks like I soon have to update the reference. Next two weeks will be busy for me at work, so it will take some time to get this added. Thanks again.

  36. Simpler solution, at least for me. What I found was insufficient ground pads on the microphones and R16. This only factors when you move the mics off of the board. Which is exactly what we want in a helmeted costume. So, on the trace side, scrape off some of the green protective layer on the ground plane near the negative posts of each mic and at both ends of R16. Bridge the pins to the scraped off area. If already assembled, just use a bit of wire. But if building a new kit, just strip enough wire to reach and solder the wire to both the original pad and to the scraped clean area. For R16, just bend the leads over to reach the cleaned area and solder to both pad and scraped area before you trim the leads. This gives sufficient ground to eliminate the humming you are hearing. That's all it is, a bad trace design by Velleman that works if you assemble the kit as designed, but not for us helmeted users. I have messaged them about this, but never got a reply. Looking at recent kits, they haven't changed it. But, it's a simple fix. To test this without any soldering, attach a piece of wire to each mic case, holding tight with your fingers. The hum should vanish.

  37. I places my hearing system mics in the last open teeth on either side. They fit perfectly and being black you would never know they were mics when looking at the bucket. no need for any new holes to be creates and easy to install or remove.
