Ok guys, the test of the shoulder straps was successful; however, the Velcro attacked to the front top section of the shoulder strap to attach them to the inside of the chest armor was not sufficient to hold the straps in place. Although, they stay tucked inside the chest armor, they did move and displayed a gap between the straps and the chest armor. This is not a serious issue and I am considering adding a snap to the strap and inside of the armor to hold the straps in place. Here are some pictures taken when I test fit everything the night before my troop. And here are a few pictures from the troop. So, in the coming weeks I will work out the remold and how to attach the straps. Once all this is done, I will put a feeler out to determine how many of you Rogues are interested in these. As always, thanks for the interest.3 points

Thanks. It still need a lot of work though. The magazine is sanded and painted. The housing is not. The print lines are more evident IRL though. And it is a plus that I can print it in black ABS. The inside of the magazine is large enough for me to place the batteries that'll run all of the light and sound extravaganza! I'm thinking of 3D modeling a battery holder that will fit perfectly inside the magazine, and make magnetic locking system.2 points

More progress. The parts for the magazine and housing has been printed. It still needs a lot of scratch built details. The Power Cylinders are fixed in place with screws. I know these are not originally there. But I'd Rather secure my parts as best as I can. The screws will be painted later, along with the weathering process.2 points

Hallelujah, there is movement at last!! Yoke gluing to the inner back plate connection. Once dry, it will be glued into the back plate and be a complete piece ready for final sanding. I did manage more trimming, majority of the rough trimming is done, some of the fine sanding and trimming is done- the hand guards and knee plates are finished in that regard. I've trimmed and molded (where necessary) the boot spats, and now I'm ready to trim to make them look like the shape they do in the CRL photos (they're kinda wonky- I'll take photos later). But I'm not gonna lie, she sat pretty much undisturbed for a good three months before last weekend. I went to a Mando build party and finally managed to get working again. This kit is just a huge snot to work with. I'm constantly frustrated as I keep running into walls where I can't figure out what to do next. So I start on another part, and run into a wall there, then another part, another wall, repeat until so frustrated it sits for three months. Christmas and the holidays were busy (and cold in the garage), so that did slow me down a little, but honestly I had no desire to work on it even when I had time. It's not just the kit itself, by KB, it's FO in general- they're stupid complicated. Though the boot spats have me a bit concerned (more later). I thankfully have a friend's assembled FOTK kit for reference at my disposal (it's basically a mannequin piece, so he's letting me borrow it while I build), and that has helped tremendously. I got a little of the desire back after working on her this weekend, so I'm hopeful I'll be able to continue the trend of at the very least chipping away at it. My goal is to be finished and troop her at the Episode 9 premiere (locally). I need a firm date in my head to get me moving. I'll only forgo that if it comes down to producing quality work that I'll be happy with in the long run or just finishing it to be finished, at diminished quality. Realistic expectations. I should be able to get it done by then, provided I just keep moving. My Geeky Pink gaskets and neck seal came in, and they're phantastic! I really love them, and I can actually move better than I expected. I should be able to start assembling some of the parts, now- forearms, biceps, thighs and shins. My gloves came in (just basic Nomex, like my TK- they'll be primarily covered anyway), and I can mod them and add in the finger tip magnets for finger armor connections. Ironically we've got a potential new member working on an TLJ Executioner right now, and though he started after me, he's pretty far along and I'm likely going to be hitting him up for help and tips. I've also officially decided I'm going to pay someone else to chrome her. I will do the black base coat depending on cost, but I simply don't have the skill level or ability (or honestly desire) to attempt to chrome her myself. I'm actually happier now that I don't have that hanging over my head, too. I have two uncles who work in the auto industry (truck decals) and they have industry contacts I'm going to try and talk with. I have options, but I'm just not quite ready to explore them fully yet because I need more done to show them what I have and what I'm after. It will be expensive to outsource, but like this costume was gonna be cheap anyway, plus, I finally got that raise! (I'm proud of my negotiating skills, had to pat myself on the back there). For me, it will be worth it to avoid all the frustration and confusion. I still think there's a fair amount of viable at-home options for other Phasmas out there, just not this one. So... tl;dr version: finally working on her again, hope to keep it up, more updates to follow! Wish me luck- I need it all!2 points

Hi, Last year with the presence of 501st members at Solo and Tokyo Comic-Con, it gave me the final push to pursue my own armor and membership. I've spend two month obsessing over the forums, CRL, and Youtube to decided to order a trimmed AHK TK kit from Authentic Props. Being a Canadian living in Tokyo provides some challenges but I have found support from local members already which has been great. I'm a very detailed and nervous guy, part of my profession, so it will be measure twice, write it down, measure again, question the accuracy of measuring concept, then maybe ask everyone to confirm my measurements. This might take a while. Armor : Authentic Props Arrived Soft Hand Guards : Authentic Props Arrived TD Clips : Authentic Props Arrived Holster : Authentic Props Arrived Gloves : Authentic Props Arrived Belt : Authentic Props Arrived Neck Seal : Trooperbay - Arrived S-Trim : Trooperbay - Arrived Comms: Ukswarth - Arrived Boots : IB - Arrived Undersuit : Uniqlo E-11 Blaster : 3D print project - Started assembly Fans: Still researching Mark from AP endured many emails from my timezone to his and was very helpful and supportive. The BBB has started the journey and with email updates set on the tracking number I will follow its progress up to the minute. I figured once I had the tracking number I could start this build log and have some of you wait along with me in anticipation of a show.1 point

Time for yet another round of "What have I gotten myself into this time?" courtesy of Sharkbait (ooh ha ha!). After numerous people telling me I should do a Phasma, what the character could (and should) have been (don't get me started on TLJ), how awesome Gwendoline Christie is, and that Make-A-Wish troop I don't stop talking about ever where our then-Squad Leader pulled every favor he ever had and then some to get the Make-A-Wish little girl her favorite character, Phasma (at the time there were about 10 Phasmas in the entire Legion), and I got to troop my TK along side, I finally decided I was going to do Phasma. Armor: KB Props, in hand Helmet: JImmi - in hand (Thorsson, in hand- being relegated to battle damage Phasma prop) Neck seal: Geeky Pink's, in hand Gaskets: Geeky Pink's, in hand Fingers: Jim (Starbuckcylon) (resin), in hand Belt: Jessica's, in hand Undersuit: TK undersuit/Easbay compression shirt and pants, in hand Cloth belt pouches: TrooperBay, in hand Boots: In hand, random black boots found on clearance for $12. Ended up using Calto lifted shoes. Inserts: 4.4''. I estimate with my barefoot height (5' 11''), the boot heel (1''), the inserts (4.4'') and the dome on the helmet (1''), I'll stand at about 6' 4''. Using lifted shoes for total lift, not inserts, but height still remains the same- about 6'4'' in costume. Cape: Jessica's, In hand Blaster: Heston3DSolutions F-11D in hand, chromed Chroming: Current plan is one of two professional chromers for the armor, I will do the prop helmet and blasters myself to save on costs. Extras: Heston 3DSolutions SE-44C, in hand and chromed and JJ Industries quicksilver baton. Are either from TFA? No. Do I care? Obviously not. Haha- hence "extras." Majority of my events are non-canon, the public doesn't know the difference, and that baton is amazing and I knew I wanted to play with it regardless. Toys and photo props and talking pieces. I won't use them at every troop, just once in a while for the fun of it, and obviously they will stay at home for the few canon troops we get. Also Heston had another 50% off sale and I had been toying with grabbing a SE-44C anyway, so just take my money already. Goal Timeline: Finish by the release of Episode IX - December 20, 2019, so I can troop that premiere (locally). Well, that didn't happen. New goal is Fresno State Men's Basketball Star Wars Night, January 4, 2020. Submitted for the third time 09/10/20. Third time's the charm, right?1 point

Costume Approval Information - Legion Elections 2019 With the Legion election period about to start February 2nd, the membership database will be in lock down, during this time new member applications through your local garrison/outpost can not be finalized, you may however still submit them but they won't be processed until the end of this cycle. This does not affect the addition of any new costumes to an active members roster/profile, however it does affect any membership status changes ie: active / reserve / retired and any personal information updates. The period of membership database lockdown for 2019 starts Feb 1 and ends @ Feb 19 (GMT). Thank you for your attention.1 point

I know there is a mouse club (and not the mickey kind), is there another for droids? Looking to build a 1:1 viper droid to take on larger troops (put in a corner and guard it), I did see the build on the prop forum. Trying to get measurements and not finding anything (my google-fu is weak today). There is a forum that has the 3d print files, but it is closed to new members (builditandtheywillcome). Any help appreciated!1 point

Aside from my head, I have my self-built fan system, tactical padding and an EVA foam lining.1 point

The suit looked great in person, but that pack makes it look so heavy! As soon as someone makes a plastic version, I am in! We regular TK's enjoyed making fun of his symmetrical face, no wonkiness evident!1 point

Hi mate I posted some info in the other thread you posted in, here it is again in case you missed it: No you can't have that on an angle, the kidney plate and also the butt plate is sitting too high and needs to come down it shouldn't be overlapped by the backplate, this would help with the angle, but if you brought it down far enough to align with the ab section you may find you end up with a big gap between the kidney and backplate, you may have to add some shim material to the back plate to reduce this gap, but I'd try bringing it down to see exactly what gap there would be first. Here are a few threads on adding shims to kidney/ab which may be of help https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30448-adding-kidney-shims-for-larger-troopers/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29077-adding-the-kidney-shim-not-bad-but/ For level 3 you would have to blend in the join lines too, here is a how to make abs paste https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42866-how-to-make-abs-paste/ Pinched this from another build to show how the sides should align1 point

They are pretty close, and we have to save something for the EI review (hint hint, A.J.).1 point

Yeah, I always thought that MEPD took troopers that were dirty and modified for their specific environment. This guy just has a pack and pauldron. Kind of like a HWT.1 point

Just wanted to mention an issue, that surely many users had: When writing a new comment, the soft-buttons for 'Insert other media' and 'Submit Reply' are so close to each other, you can easily hit the wrong one. No big deal if only type text, but really annoying if you want to add photos and suddenly your comment went live. Idea: move the 'Submit Reply' button to the opposite side or add a pop up window 'Are you sure you want to post this now?' (or something like this). Just an idea, as I have no clue about webpages and how difficult this is. I love the FISD so just wanted to suggest something to improve the page a little bit.1 point

Okay, here are some close ups of the stands after equipping them with E-11 blasters. Below is the small fat stand. And here the slim wide one (looks better in my opinion). The top view shows the different dimensions and positions on the base: While one stand was meant to sit on the bottom of the large cabinet, the second stand required a shelf to rest on. Another MDF board seemed a bit simple to me, so I added two drawers, which I had found at work and painted them. These are perfect for smaller things like scopes and my counters. And this is what it now looks like with everything in there: Enjoy your weekend.1 point

If it were me I would not raise or shorten the thighs, James. The reason being is that it appears the tops are already a bit wide causing a slight gap in the rear (red arrow), and raising or trimming them increase this gap. If you felt ambitious, you could remove the rear cover strip and trim them down a little to give you a more tapered look at the top, but it really not needed. The gaps you have in the front between the tops of the thighs and the ab plate (third photo) are good to go. Reference image Just as Q mentioned, the bottoms of the calves are riding pretty high. When standing still this is not an issue, but during a troop this will more than likely cause the tops of your boots to pop out from underneath in the front. Since it looks as if you don't have the extra material to work with at the bottoms, I have seen several troopers with this issue make a stirrup of sorts, where they glued a piece of 1 (or 2) inch elastic to the insides of the calf and them looped that under their foot before putting on the boots. This keeps them pulled down and prevents that.1 point

Oh, shoot, yes! I'm sorry I didn't update on here! My armor is finished for the most part! I just gotta trim the legs a little more and add the knee plate [emoji106] my goal really was to just get it wearable enough for Halloween. I was able to get done thanks to the many many armor parties I went to before Halloween Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk1 point
