  1. Did not get to much in the last few days. Only cut the thighs and reworked the left forearm a bit. AAAAAND.... I submitted my basic approval request. As of this morning: TK24576 reporting for duty. Now to get ready for EIB and Centurion. Some tweets on the armour. For example the kidney and abdomen plate tend to overlap on the right side, when the belt is closed. I am not sure what I will use, tabs, magnets... Have to tinker a bit here. Work on the inner padding of the left knee, this is still a wonky and pushes the knee outwards And most importantly, the blaster needs to be done.

  2. Well, since MIMIC took my money and ran, i went to KB Props and JSIN. They were AWESOME. Not only did they help all of us that were taken advantage of by MIMIC, they supplied the remaining armor at a very low cost and had it available immediately. Thank you KB Props. Below are the photos of the raw pieces from KB Props. I still have to trim, sand and paint these pieces, but they look awesome.

  3. Finally! My scope is done!!! Oh boy, it's something else to have it all completed and painted as well. The small lens installation was finicky. I stuck it to the ends of the lens spacer with electrical tape and placed it in the small lens housing. With room to boot in the housing, I filled in the extra space with some pieces of a red rubber band and glued everything with E-6000. As for the reticle lens, I used green stuff following Tinos example. Using crayon to highlight the scope text was very fun to do! Patience and perseverance paid off!

  7. Seriously, what a crazy ride this has been. I was 65 lbs heavier when I started this. Last year, when I received my big brown box (in addition to another one due to some issues I won’t get into), I unfortunately, in the midst of cutting, gluing, measuring, realized that I wasn’t going to fit into this thing without some serious modification. Despite my armor (AM) being a choice for larger troopers, I was still having issues. The ab and kidney didn’t meet. I couldn’t close the thighs in the back. I was by no means morbidly obese or anything, but I was just too big. Sure, there are shims. ABS paste. Ways to make it work. But starting this build was eye-opening for me. If I was willing to put all of this time, money, and energy—the blood, the sweat, the tears—into building screen-accurate space soldier armor, what’s stopping me from losing weight? Getting healthy? I was happy to throw down 2 hours of build time a night, but not 30 minutes to take a walk? It was time to change. So I put my build on hold. If you look at my build topic, sparse as it is—the updates simply stopped. And during that time, I made some big changes. And the weight started coming off. If I was going to go to lengths to be a stormtrooper, to make 7-year-old me proud, I was going to do it right. And I did. A little over a month ago I attended a build party. I met some great people, laughed, had a great time. I made friends. I had a new surge of confidence. And so I continued the build. So here it is. Complete, approved, and already in a ton of pictures with people from Grand Rapids Comic Con. No shims, no ABS paste. I made it work. And now I’m finally thin, to boot. So, I want to thank everyone here, for the fantastic community, the resources, the help, the encouragement. It’s fantastic that despite how terrible things get, we still have people looking out for us. And I hope to meet all of you and troop with you some day. Special thanks to Eric Dyck, Steph Mortimer, Weylyn Kelley, Craig Hobbs, and my wife, for all their help and encouragement. Thanks everyone!

  10. Congrats on completing this stage of the build. The paint job really worked well and looks spot on. Also the reticle lens and the tiny screws are very nice highlights. Just wondering why you did not close this gap with green stuff prior to painting? Well on the other hand, not many people will ever notice it at all.

  12. Get the Kittle in white. It is a perfect match for the Anovos armor and is centurion correct.

  17. Just life advice for the average forum user, NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM EBAY! (Unless it is MTK, because he is verified) I would not reccomend buying this to anyone, so no it is not any good. Some reasons, some of the pieces look odd or warped, the ears have the bumps seperated, the second picture looks like an action figure, and the details seem soft. Because of the price and it being on Ebay, I would guess that is a recast of other armor (maybe TM, not sure). Overall, do not buy it and check out the vendor list for approved vendors. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/

  19. Really nice build on this armor, Eric! Fantastic job on trimming the ab-button plates, and the positioning of your TD plate (one of my pet peeves) is spot-on, brother. One of us will be with you shortly.

  21. Scammers like this make their money by people buying the rubbish. By even buying it even if you will refund it you’re helping them win. These scams are popping up a lot at the moment. A surprisingly large number people always say “well it’s worth a go” or “I wonder what you do get”. It’s obviously worth their while. The only winning move move is not to play.

  22. With respect, if it IS a scam (which I think we’re all pretty sure it is) and one simply gets a refund from PayPal or a credit card company, the scammers have won. This thread concerns me....

  23. I've made a few updates based on the feedback provided already. Pulling the thighs up and adding some foam to the top front actually helped a ton in getting the back to line up better, very happy with the results! Also, thanks for the tip on dabbing a bit of E6000 to hold the drop box straps, worked like a charm! Revised Front View Revised Back View Revised Left View Revised Right View
