kaa1304[TK]
I've been looking at my armour and wondering why forearms are attached to the biceps. My biceps are snapped to the shoulders in two places, and never ride upwards. My forearms have curved foam in, to match my arms and prevent movement. At the moment the only thing the joining strap seems to do is make it harder for me to get on! Of course I can just rip it out and see what happens, but thought I'd ask first! thanks
Locitus[Admin]
They are supposed to be attached together.
kaa1304[TK]
I figured the only real reason was "because its how it was in the movies". I may replace the glued down connection with a snap, just for ease. It wouldnt look any different.
Geaux Saints[TK]
I believe it's suppose to help prevent a large gap between the bicep and forearm, especially when standing straight with your arms at your side. Also, when you flex your elbow it brings the biceps with the forearm.
SubSkip[TK]
I don't. My forearms fit snug and don't move around.
Tray[TK]
I don't either.
TK - Lisa[TK]
I don't either. I used weather stripping foam (sticky on one side) to get a snug fit. Edited November 18, 2012 by TK - Lisa
Darth Hilarious
lol I free float my right one 'cause the strap went missing ages ago Mind, I'm ESB, so I probably should totally free-float my arms PS- Kevin dude, you're doing a RotJ, aren't you? I don't even know how their arms were done Edited November 18, 2012 by Darth Furious

I don't even know how their arms were done I am , yeah, I can't find anything too solid on how they did it but, as of now, I've not killed myself looking either I don't mind the material, I just want to be able to disconnect the arm sections, hence I'll replace the glued elastic with a snapper. cheers all

Darth Hilarious
may I recommend putting a snap at one end only? You'll never misplace your strap as I did, and you only have to re-do one end

Darth Voorhees[501st]
I was thinking of doing it just so i can have the forearms a bit more loose fitting. but not sure if i want to. Currently i do not.
TK bondservnt[501st]
my arms are too big to have the forearms sliding the biceps. would cause problems more than it would solve. the actors must have had 9" forearms and 11" biceps so they needed to "hang" the armor with straps. most people who have larger arms, lets use my dimensions as an example 12" forearms, and 15" biceps (at their largest parts) don't allow for screen accurate sizing, thus there is no extra room for sliding around, and since the parts are all larger, they don't actually need to "hang" the whole screen used hangar system is for people who have the bicep hooks, and the small arms to have a need for this type of strapping. Nicky
I don't attach them, they are snapped onto my forearm like on a snowtrooper armor.
TK bondservnt[501st]
not everyone can use the Screen accurate methods body size prohibits some armor fittings and methods of strapping.
Mogwai[TK]
Mine are not attached. I have some Foam inside, so they stay where they are, when I put them on.
