I know Dave very well and he is a good friend of mine. I was the first one he met at a 501st event and I got him hooked. I helped Dave build his first set or armor, and then he blew right be me and kept going. I now go to him for help with my armor builds. He is not one of those EBAY sellers, and is on Facebook. He sells the AM armor, packs, does commissioned builds (I have seen him at work at his house) and other items. You cannot go wrong working with him.

John - How did he shims on the shin work out? I am running into the same issue for a suit I am building for someone. I was going to Velcro a piece to just the inside, but my GML told me that would not pass. I am trying something similar to the above. Glue an inside piece on one side. Glue another wider piece on top of that so the plastic is now flush with the armor, and then Velcro the other side to the inside. Then Velcro the outside tab as you normally would over that.

Both my TK and TD are from RT-MOD. I am just shy of 6ft and weigh about 218 LBS. I squat\deadlift and I need to trim the thighs to get them to fit. Mostly everything elase fit me without having to trim but, I left extra room in the armor so I could layer clothing for cold events. I can fit in my armor with a Lycra Wetsuit layered with underarmor type cold gear. The COD piece I need to trim. It overlaps pretty high under the AB piece. You will probably not have to do this with your height. If you have instagram, look up TK7186 and you can see photos of how the suit looks on me.

I thought it was a great deal. I ordered another suit for myself and one for my sister. My sister is 4 years younger. She followed me around as kid and now, in our 40's, she is doing the same thing

Sorry if this has been asked, but I was not able to find any information on this. I am helping someone build an AM suit of armor. I have talked to a few people and received different ideas. When velcroing the one side. Is the armor over lapping the other side of the armor and the cover strip is glued and even with the overlapping edge or are you gluing the cover strip halfway on one side and velcoring the cover strip to the other side of the armor? Which one is the norm that most people use? Thanks, Gerrit

I had police check the blasters only because the Mayor was visiting near by when we were filming the episode for Ink Masters a few years ago. Other then that, I have many pictures with local Law Enforcement and no issues.

Some very cool hobbies. From Fishing to Wrestling. I wished I lived closer to take advantage of the archery. My wife is much better at it then I am. We got into the TV show Arrow over the winter. We cannot wait to for the snow to melt so we can go out back and shoot some arrows.

Some of my other hobbies: 1970 Mustang - Not a true Mach 1. Bought car off ebay and when it arrived it had Mach 1 badging, so I left it. 2007 Mustang GT Car Show Nihon Goshin Aikido - Me being tossed around for photos. Probably about 10 years ago. Probably why everything hurts now.

Quick question. I want to update my ROTJ TK to have three blue buttons. The CRL states Dark Blue. You do not need a gym to get in shape. If you have a small space in your house look into TRX, Sandbag training, cross fit, etc....and work on circuits. Focus on the foods you eat and drink a lot of water. The basic thing is calories and coalories out. If you burn more calories then you take in you will loose weight. I was 225 when I built my armor and now I am down to 215 by mixing up my workouts with strength training and circuits. I converted my basement into a workout area and have a variety of things. Recently I wanted to do more cardio, I find running boring, and got hold of some of those Insanity DVD's and I am yet to get thru one, but I have found my stamina is much better during my martial arts class. I will mix those DVD's with Cross Fit workouts and the Sandbags. I will also do strength training with deadlifts, squats and tire flipping(in the warmer weather since my tractor tire is probably frozen to the ground).

I still play SWTOR, but had played Lineage 2, EQ2, Lord of the Rings, which I may play again, and Star Trek. Just finding the time these day to play any type of game is difficult. I got Assassin's Creed 3 for Christmas and I am yet to play it.

Here are my dimensions at the time I bought my RT-MOD suit. I only had to take about an inch off the thighs to get them to fit snug. 5'11" 220 Lbs Chest = 45" Chest\Shoulders = 52 1\2" Calves = 17" Thighs = 24 1/2" Waist = 40" Forearm = 13" Bicep = 15" Head = 22 1\2"

I am trying to get my wife to dress up, but she wants a character that does not have a helmet, mask or wig. The closest I got, was to get her to dress as Princess Leia for Halloween with the white dress, hair buns and a blaster. So she wants me to research that line of costumes. Not many Empire characters withour a helmet.

My first troop was in April 2012 and I have done about 9 or 10 so far.

Interaction with people when they hear me talk with the amplifier and ICOM. Also, the children get excited when they get a trading card.

I will be there and will be dressed as my TK on Sat at the Shoot A Trooper table. I have been to Comic Con before, but it will be the first time in a costume.
