I picked up the latest issue of TIME magazine and the caption of a picture of John Boyega's character says he's a First Order Stormtrooper with FN in front of his ID # Could this classification be carried on to our group? FN = First Order Stormtroopers?

LadyInWhite Phasma Build
DarkTrooper replied to LadyInWhite's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
That is AWESOME! Well done -
looks like a ROTJ version to me----------

Armor looks good. What is your method to prevent the chest piece from popping out off the Back/neck yoke? From your pictures the right side is clearly up. I resorted tonight to using magnets. I know others have inserted snaps or velcro to keep it secure there. 2nd look at your thread . . . you say you have a yolk strap. Did it pop loose?

Opinions on additional trimming
DarkTrooper replied to Moostang's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I'd suggest trimming off the shoulder bells. They look huge on your frame. At least an inch and a half to start. The biceps are hardly visible. Interesting that you're working with a AM kit. Was that what was currently available to you? -
The butt plate while sitting down (at least for me) is not the problem. The problem is my thighs will push up my abdomen/torso, which in turn will push up the chest, which in turn will push up on the helmet. I'm sure sitting for taller troopers is a slight possibility but for me and other vertically challenged troopers sitting in armor is a no no. Agreeing to what was said before . . . trooping a movie and watching a movie are two different subjects.

ATA armor build in progress
DarkTrooper replied to Squimspickle's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
looks like you are on the right track. well done, keep it up. -
I purchased two kits with the intent of building them to my size and selling them. I just like putting together armor and encouraging the growth of the 501st. I was hoping to sell the kits once made for around $1,000 I'll wait though to get these kits in my hands. They were so 'cheap' when they were first up for preorder. I might just chrome plate one of them for a custom Phasma inspired trooper

About how much did you trim off the lower legs? not length wise, I'm talking about circumference.

Nice to get an update on this! I like what they're showing. Can wait to finally get this armor.

The red armored troopers I thought were known as Magma Troopers. I guess they changed it to Crimson Troopers now and this respirator trooper is a Magma now ----------

Limited visibility of your surrounds; including sigh and sound. Not a good combination if you are claustrophobic. That is a good idea to wear a helmet around familiar surroundings like your house to get used to the feeling. If you feel like you're not getting enough air then fans could help that problem. Other than the neck opening, additional holes to the helmet i don't think would be acceptable to 501st standards.

I saw your family at Comikaze. Great job. I remember seeing you pushing your boys in a stroller back at when WonderCon was last in San Francisco now they're trooping in armor. Well done!

Chest and back pieces help.
DarkTrooper replied to ehinote2187's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
A member of our garrison created his own back and chest pieces for 'larger' troopers. He could probably help you out. I'll PM you when I located his info -
I really like how this kit fits Max. As a thinner trooper I'm going to have to readjust my First Order armor to look more like this one. As it is now, my armor looks too big on me; which makes it uncomfortable to move and wear.

So who here wears their armor like, every halloween?
DarkTrooper replied to gunner's topic in Off Topic
One Halloween I wore my Clonetrooper armor around my neighborhood and went trick or treating with my nephew who dressed as Boba Fett. Previous to that I wore my TX armor to a party. That was my pre 501st days. -
For those that don't have access to a 3D printer, is anyone planning on casting these to sell as kits?

I used a seam ripper and or a hobby knife to cut the thread that holds the white part in place. I think in a couple places I actually cut too far and ended up cutting the main thread so I had to resew the fingers.

ATA Works bucket pre assembley
DarkTrooper replied to Ooggee's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I could be your lighting in that pic but damn, that looks really wrinkled/bumpy. I've owned two ATA kits and they didn't look like that. Could you take another picture in better lighting? -
I had it download overnight onto my PS4. I can't wait to get off work this afternoon and play online.

Trying to ID my armour... Help please!
DarkTrooper replied to kingwowns's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Yeah that's FX. If I'm not mistaken, that helmet will not be approved for a new 501st membership.
