  1. I have a kit sitting in its box too. Waiting on a thorough tutorial to become available.
  2. Stormtrooper armor for the most part can get wet
  3. Tony is right. The return edges on the top of the ab & kidney armor don't have to be as thick as you have them right now.
  4. I throw my E-11 in my armor bin with my armor. FYI, this topic has been discussed many times. Check out these threads http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30768-how-do-you-transport-your-blaster/?hl=%2Bblaster+%2Btransport http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32838-transporting-an-e-11/?hl=%2Bblaster+%2Btransport http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/36497-blaster-rifle-carrying-casestransport/?hl=%2Bblaster+%2Btransport
  5. This topic has been discussed, many times. Here's a recent discussion http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35512-where-do-you-store-your-walletid-and-phone/?hl=wallet
  6. Using those old/broken glass frames is a good idea. Possibly hot glue them in place in back of the helmet lens material. There's not really a need to create a whole new thread for this topic. You could have bumped up the several older threads. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29798-wearing-glasses-while-in-a-bucket-the-real-reason-why-tks-cant-aim/?hl=%2Bwearing+%2Bglasses http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27948-eye-glasses-in-tk-helmet/?hl=%2Bwearing+%2Bglasses#entry353692 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19214-buckets-glasses/?hl=%2Bwearing+%2Bglasses http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/17511-prescription-lenses-for-helmet/?hl=%2Bwearing+%2Bglasses#entry213031 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/7880-glasses-eyewear-and-helmet-sizes/?hl=%2Bwearing+%2Bglasses
  7. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16995-darth-alohas-rt-mod-anh-stunt-buildrt/ Follow Darth Aloha's RT-mod armor build
  8. The RT kit uses an overlapping coverstrip method. The 'coverstrip' IS that raised portion. The side that doesn't have the raised portion would be attached directly underneath it.
  9. There is a lack of cast TK helmets because that is not how they were originally made. Vaccum formed. Cast helmets aren't ideal for trooping. They're heavier than vac formed helmets.
  10. HOw tall are you? Any problems walking in the armor? Your legs look a bit long, no gap between thighs and shins.
  11. Post your photos to photobucket or other image hosting site and then link your images to your thread here.
  12. I have a potential new member working on his ANOVOS kit. He decided to modify his bicep by attaching the bicep strap. This creates a lil problem though now for him. The bicep doesn't hang low enough. The inside taper of the bicep is low on this kit to start with. Half of the outside of his bicep is hidden under the shoulder armor. I told him he put good effort into putting it together & by adding the bicep strap but it is not a requirement. He's a tall guy, six foot +. I've seen that there are a handful of ANOVOS kits already approved at the Centurion status & they don't have bicep straps either.
  13. Has any taller troopers that have this problem ever simply cut the abdomen armor apart along where the belt piece would be and then add a horizontal shim in its place? An area of about three inches is covered completely by the belt anyways. That could be your extra inches you are looking for. As a shorter trooper, at 5'7", with my first FX kit that is the area that I cut off to modify that armor. Instead of shimming though I removed that portion.
  14. http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?act=idx Questions regarding the Sandtrooper are best answered on their forums. Basic construction questions could be answered here but if you want Sandtrooper specific costuming discussion I'd "move along" to the Sandtroopers forum.
  15. The general movie going population doesn't even know there is a difference in TK armor through out the saga. Its not going to matter to them now, never will. It is irritating though that Lucasfilm already knows that fans like us exist and would be the best consultants in production. But ah well . . . . apparently accuracy isn't important. 40 years go by and they can't make a TK look the way it did back then?
  16. I used to really hate the Rubies TK armor. But you can be famous from it. Look what "hip hop" trooper did to a Rubies. With a little customization from spray paint you end up with over 77,000 instagram followers and featured appearances at comic conventions.
  17. I have a couple of these. I carry my helmets separately in helmet bags. --------------
  18. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/36423-increasing-return-edge-on-chest/?hl=%2Breturn+%2Bedge You look like you have enough edge to support brackets on each corner. That middle part should work too
  19. I am a thin trooper. I carefully use a heat gun to assist curving my kidney and abdomen pieces to eliminate the extra room I have. Adding padding is another option too.
