  1. Cut it. I can unsnap mine from the buttplate between my legs, remove the belt, lift up and drain the lizard with ease. And I've actually danced several times in my armor. Chicks love it.
  2. That pic of the disney suit from behind looks like shoes instead of boots. WTF?
  3. You can put superglue into a cut and it will stop the bleeding? I didn't know that. The stuff is not toxic?
  4. Me neither, but could you really hear it over the clanking of the armor?
  5. I guess it's up to you. The backs of mine are velcroed, although I very seldom have to undo them. BUT, it does come in handy for other things. Like if you ever need to get your thigh pieces off without removing your boots and calve pieces. Like for maybe taking a break in the changing room and you want to sit down for a bit (this helps on those really long troops) or if you actually need to drive a bit (not recommended but I have actually had to drive for a mile or two or three in armor). No one really looks at the back anyway and if you use the white velcro and do it right you can't tell it's there anyway. I'm sure someone here is going to say glue it for screen accuracy but it's your choice. That fact that I can remove mine without removing the boots and calves for emergencies is worth it for me.
  6. I guess each to his own. I've worn front and back not split and I've worn front and back both split. Give me front and back both split anyday. I, for one, can tell a big difference.
  7. I have to go with this one, too. I was 12 years old in '77 and when I saw these bad boys blasting their way in my jaw dropped to the floor and I thought "Those are the coolest suits I have ever seen!!!" Even though I was a teenager I bought all the action figures and played with them. I mostly just used the trooper figures and just pretended it was Luke and Han still in the suits. After 28 years of yearning I finally got my TK suit in 2005 and joined up. Still get a huge thrill just putting it on!!! It's STILL the coolest suit ever. Clones do absolutely nothing for me. I do not have (or ever will have) a desire to get one. You can't improve on perfection!!
  8. Those do look very good and I wouldn't mind getting a pair myself. But let me ask you this; I have no desire to wear rubber gloves, could these just be worn the old way, with a strap? I use one elastic strap around my wrist and another over my palm. Does this material lend itself to affixing straps?
  9. Good tip, however I have never had this problem. I ran 3 long strips of insulation foam down the front and both sides of my calf pieces (on the inside). Keeps them tight around my legs.
  10. Some of the problems I have seen with Chewie outfits is that some people use drywall stilts. Yeas this makes them very tall but unless you add some kind of arm extensions it looks like their arms are cut off at the elbow. IE wookie length legs but human length arms. Very strange looking.
  11. I also use Underarmour. And I tuck inmy neckseal. I problem I don't like is that my UA shirt has about a 1 inch collar on it. So it covers about the bottom inch of my neckseal. I don't like that.
  12. Thanks for the advice. I am going to look into all of it.
  13. I am looking to buy some dvd editing software. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to buy, how to use it, how complicated it is, what kind of computer you need etc. I am wanting to make a dvd of just the best and fastest action scenes from movies. Keeping in mind that some shots may be only a few seconds long. I was thinking of taking all my movies and just making one big super action dvd. Compiling shots like just fast space ships shot from Star Wars, Tron light cycles, lightsaber fight scenes, Matrix fighting, the tube car thing from Running Man, wormhole fron Star Trk TMP, wormhole from Contact, trippy scenes from Altered States, 2001, etc etc. You get the idea. I don't want to just do each scene by scene, it might be a few seconds of one scene then a few seconds from another movie, then a few seconds from another, then another, then back to the first movie for a second or two and so on. I have never used any kind of computer editing software. I was aces using two VCRs and editing footage but it seems that day is gone. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I'm not worried (at this point) about adding music or anything I just want to be able to do a few seconds here and a few seconds there and so on until I have a couple hours or so of just non stop blasting action. Is this even possible? Or do DVDs have some kind of guard onthem to keep you from dubbing scenes onto the computer? I'm also worried about loading time. Since I only want a few seconds of each scene here and there, will I have to change movies everytime and wait for a DVD to load and then fast forward to each scene? I am totally clueless on this project and would appreciate any advice anyone could give me.
  14. Wow, I have been hunting for that Classic creatures one for years. Is that the one where Ackbar is singing "I'm so ugly"? I haven't seen that one since it was on tv in, what, 1983,84?
  15. I've only recently been introduced to E6000. I found one tube in Walmart in the craft section a few months ago but it has never been restocked. If I ever find it again I will buy several tubes. Devcon plastic welder is great but be aware that after a year or two it will tend to yellow. Make sure none is visible on your armor.
  16. Whenever I am drawing troopers firing the E-11 I always use something like PTOW!! or KTOW!!
  17. I actually have an old copy of that SW documentary. I remember when it first came on tv. We had no VCR back then and I put my cassette recorder next to the tv speaker and recorded just the audio. Must have listened to it a thousand times. About 1988 I found a VHS copy in a Blockbuster. I borrowed a friends VCR and hooked it up to mine and dubbed it off. A few years ago I transferred it to DVD. Quality ain't that great but I still watch it every now and then. Brings back lots of memories.
  18. I tend to agree, I don't like the thumbprint thing. I also don't like the "squared off" look of the calf pieces. It's like if you look at them from the top they are ,like, stopsign shaped, or hexagon or whatever. Not round at all. Don't like that. Saw my first set at a con last month. The detail is almost TOO sharp for me. Also don't really care for the "lip" all around everything. I have been told that it cuts into you some..That's just what I was told by someone--have no idea if it's true. I think I'm just gonna stick with my FX suit and MR helmet. Or at least until some hootin' palootin' eletist wants to start phasing that out too.
  19. The lining is okay, I did add some foam to the inside of mine. I like mine to fit really snug. The really biggest mod I did but didn't mention before is--if you are going to put speakers in the areaters then you will have a bit of a job to do. I put my Skullworx in mine. I love it. I also painted the inside of mine black. I guess I really need to change my avatar since that is my old FX helmet.
  20. Wasn't stun setting blue? Like when they shot the princess on the Tantive IV?
  21. As far as being a good solid, sturdy helmet I love the MR. All I did to mine was put some tint on the lenses, fill in the seam, put some mesh in the frown and replace the tube stripes. There will be people who will tell you you HAVE to replace the ears or put screws in them, open up the frown more-- You don't HAVE to. I seriously doubt any garrison will turn you down for not replacing, or shortening the ears. You might catch flack for it on this board but it is up to you as to how far you want to go with it.
  22. Yeah if you watch the trooper as he is walking out of the cell his helmet is up almost to his ears.
  23. It looks bent. Did you put a rod down the center? Or is it just the photos?
  24. Inflatable? I think those are used for something else!! I'm jus' sayin'!!
  25. Here in the Southern part of the United States this is used by EVERYONE, young and old. It is practically a prerequisite. Here, if you go to the trouble to actually say "you all" you would probably be considered a snob. The thing about this one is that it is such a regional word that it is part of our everyday language. It's such a part of our dialect that we don't even notice it. However if someone tries to fake it-ie- someone with a northern accent, we can spot it in a heartbeat. I can spot EVERY fake southern accent ever put in a movie or tv show.
