  1. Whats wrong with his drop boxes?
  2. The BT-16 is a spider droid?? I thought it was a new kind of bra....
  3. Yeah, those should work fine. If you have to paint them try not to paint the part where the glue or velcro will be. Also it helps to score the plastic with an Xacto blade first before glueing. But just score the parts where the glue will be. "Scoring" means to take an Xacto blade and make lots of little cuts ( NOT VERY DEEP) in both pieces of the plastic that are going to be glued together. A lot of little XXXX patterns will do. This gives the glue something to hold onto and forms a better bond. Also on the inside of your armor where the shims are attaching use some fine grade sandpaper to take the gloss off the abs. This and the scoring makes for a better bond and there is less chance of coming apart during stress. For most people I know we use Devcon plastic welder. It's in the hardware section at Walmart (do you have Walmarts over there?). It's only about $3 (american) per tube and It took me about 6 tubes to do my entire tk outfit. Again, hope this helps.
  4. I think they were talking about "that new BT-16". Don't have a clue what that is, tho. Anybody know? And the two buttons inside the helmet on that previous post are (at least on mine) the switches to turn on the fans and the voice amplifier, and no lips or tongue involved, you just cut them on before you put the bucket on.
  5. I built my mannequin out of pvc pipe, bubble wrap and about 20 rolls of electrician tape. I found a website called Haunter's Hangout that had a really good tutorial(sorry, didn't save the link). It's fully articulated but I never put a head on it and I never locked all the joints so it would free stand so it's just hung by the neck in my back room. If I ever get a bigger place I'm gonna finish it and build a stand for it. The only problem is that I will have to get another pair of boots so I can drill holes in the bottom of them so I can anchor it through the boots because I dont want a piece of pipe running up his butt to hold him up.
  6. Any kind of hardware store will have them. They are just those little plastic signs that say "For Sale" or "keep off the grass" or whatever. Xacto blades cut them very well and plastic welder or epoxy will bond it very well to abs plastic. This is what pretty much everyone I know uses for shims. Just make sure it is a white sign so you will not have to bother with painting it. Hope this helps.
  7. I have an FX suit that I keep on a mannequin when not trooping, are you saying I should pack it away when not in use? I don't want it to yellow but everyone gets a real kick out of seeing it when they come over.
  8. Just go to Walmart or Home Depot and buy some of those "For Sale" signs and cut them up. Works perfect!
  9. Okay I don't have the visual dictionary. I have seen what the bucket is really supposed to look like inside and I know that the boxes on the knee are ammo (correct?), but what is really in the belt? Are the boxes on it really supposed to open up? Are they full of supplies of some sort? Sure doesn't look like they could open up in any way. What are the drop boxes supposed to be? Do they detach and open up? The thing on the back of the belt: I've seen it called everything from a thermal detonator to an O2 tank to an Oreo container--which is it? The buttons on the ab plate: are they really functional buttons that perform something when pressed? The little box that has the 5 buttons, is it supposed to detach and be some kind of gizmo like a communicator or a tricorder or something? The little greeblies on the sniper plate: do they do anything? For that matter, what does sniper plate mean anyway? I assume it means something like when you go down on one knee to shoot it keeps your kneecap from getting shot off. Or is it to rest a rifle on for stability? Are the itty bitty boxes on the shoulder straps supposed to do anything? The rectangular indentions on the forearm pieces: anything? Just a few things I've been wondering about --for about thirty years!! If the answers to all these questions are common knowledge, please excuse my ignorance _________________
  10. Glad you are back, I check this board everyday and I have missed it!!
  11. Mine works fine and the volume is high enough without feedback for anyone in the general vicinity. It sux not having the static burst tho... You just tell yourself you will fake it before and after you speak but you always forget to do it.
  12. you say you are getting new blue vent stickers? Great but they need to be higher up on the "tube" only about a quarter inch below where the tube starts to bend outwards.
  13. I would love to have one of those..No more neckseal coming out from under my shirt
