  1. Blimy terry i have a week away from the internet and you jump on the back of a tie fighter full steam ahead for your TK number, elite and first troop. Congratulations mate job well done, theres a look of pride in your eyes as the UK tag is fixed to your armour.Hope to get to meet you on of these days.
  2. I love this glue,ok its not instant 24 hours for a full cure.Apply a film to both surfaces put by for ten minutes then offer the parts your glueing together the E6000 almost acts like a contact adhesive. Like all the above on the odd hic-up razor blade or super sharp modeling knife.
  3. what i have seen done is simply add velcro to the top of the boot front and inside the bottom of the armour.
  4. You must remember Lisa that the build is tailored to me size. The arms are 15mm strips and the legs are 20mm. The legs should still look right at 25mm strips. I have tryed to explain all steps, read very carefully if in doubt ask first. best of luck.
  5. Im sure if you contact the maker of the AP kit he will supply some ABS .That way you will get the colour match right.
  6. No words just lots of
  7. I use chicargo screws as well. Can be found on eBay CHICARGO SCREWS Also like your method Bill.
  8. Yes,and there it is three months of white plastic.Very well done mate.I take it these are your 501st pictures.I hope for the most part it was a good experiance?
  9. just a note, your 4 button section is upside down! should be blue at the bottom.
  10. I know what you mean about the AP kit.Mine was scrached to hell on about half the bits.I know some folk like there armour to look worn but when i get a new kit i expect it to look new.It should be upto me if i want it scrached and worn looking.
  11. Some close up of the detail
  12. Ive had this lid for some time and wasnt sure what to do with it.I have several lids all ANH look,so decided to go for a real prop replica lid. This is my representation of the found ESB lid that Jes has just made a great video of. The lid base is a TE HDPE the decals are from mike (TK4510) trim from Troopermaster .All ref was taken from starwars helmets.com paint used was Hycote gloss white with Hycoate primer.Weathering achieved with pastals and real paint chips and scratches. The patch is a real 1977 orig. Enjoy!
  13. yep i have one of the first four kits of Kevins armour and was blown away with how thick it is and as for the quality ,there is no one anywere close in the clone world. Also any and all questions i had answered how ever stupid, along with a back up web-site is giving fantastic customer service. Now what more can we ask for.....
  14. ABS is a very forgiving plastic, its semi soft flexable and will polish out scratches well. I have been able to heavy sand ABS with a very course paper, then a fine grade leading to wet and dry. This will leave a very matt finish. to get the shine back there are three versions of NOVAS heavy, med and final shine.its not hard to use but will require elbow grease.I have also had fantastic results with T-CUT and silver polish compound. But Novas is a must for your trooper tool kit.
  15. Thanks for yur PM, Answer time,No secret as far as the heat setting just have it on max. I always try to get as much of the ABS in contact with the iron as posible. The point of the iron normaly faces in. never add to much presure just the weight of the iron, but keep it moving. As the ABS starts to heat and bend add a little more weight and rock it to get the curve.Press it to get a 45 degree angle. keep the iron moving side to side and up and down. You need to decide your direction you want to bend and head that way. The cloth will leave ats weave patten on the ABS,so once you are finished sand with wet and dry paper and then buff back the shine with NOVAS or T-cut polish.I have found that the AP plastic can buff back from a very bad finish.
  16. I was at a fate and a couple asked for a photo, the guys misses asked for a picture with just her and me.The guy with a very serious face on him looked me straight in the lenses and said "This isnt the woman your looking for" I had no answer but she just shoved him out of the way for the shot.
  17. Thats what we like to see a trooper workshop hard at it.Great pictures.I hope that we can see this through to the end with you. BTW stop keep having your hair cut
  18. I get a news letter from Fenixprops once a month and there new stormtrooper helmet padding cought my eye. There are two versions available. One is for lids that have a hard hat linner already in,the other is for a clean inner lid. This means they have done there homework on this . I have ordered one and will post a full review when it hits my door on size and quality etc. I own several makers helmets so will be able to give a broad outlook to how it fits in these lids. Im not sure if this will work for all you guys ,the first thing that springs to mind is a heat issue but thats why we fit fans in our lids. Im not sure of the helmet shown in the picture. The padding is shown inside out on some of the shots. heres the link direct to FENIXPROPS for some trooper shopping. I have used them in the past for a clone trooper helmet upgrade set and found the service and quality of product to be very good.
  19. nice one paul as SuperT said, hope you saved before the glue set. I think a note to the makers is in order here. Some marking of parts would go along way for the troopers to help them on there way. I know someone not so far way does this for hes customers.
  20. You should spend more time on your lid mate and less time on the boards
  21. Comming together nice,I was wondering why you have cut out five teeth not four like the ESB and i would defo repaint the vocoder as you said.the eyes look the ESB part mate, and forehead rubber is looking spot on.
  22. Im clawing at my monitor screen at those parts . Im glad the tutorial is going to help someone out.I must say that the TM kit is a dream to build out of all the kits ive owned.Every part is mm perfect and as you said i think, there not just parts to a kit there mini works of art with all the subtle curves and shapes. Am i right in saying this is the ABS version? I will be with you all the way with this build ,looking over your shoulder in spirit lol.
  23. Yes i does get alot better,Finishing the Kits taking a step back to admire two fantastic suits ready for trooping in.Not forgeting the show off pictures for us guys.
  24. Hi John i followed this build over at the UKG im glad you took this project to the end.turned out great mate well worth your time for a first.
  25. the one way round your thighs hitting the cod is to strap them so that the centre line of the thigh is closer to the drop boxes.I wouldnt cut the thighs mate, just move the straps that hold the thighs up further apart.I take it they are connected to a belt or are they connected to your cod? The thighs on all suits tend to turn in so the straps further out will counter this and stop for the most part from hitting your cod.
