  2. If one of the ANH film heroes can get away without a counter then i say with or without should be fine.It should be up to the indivdual trooper to whether or not to put the counter onto hes or her blaster. Pictures borrowed from a thread over on the MEPD. And to give balance to this. case closed melud lol.
  3. stormtrooper repair kit, every ABS clad trooper should have.....NOVUS
  4. I got some aluminium strip 20mm in width bent and shaped it for a good look and fit to my canvas belt.I found that it marked my armour rubbing the back plate so i put some white velco loop on to stop that .worked out real well.
  5. 2.5 feet would cover one lid mega price for the correct trim 10 feet for me. UK based.
  6. all i did was head over to eBay and picked up a brand new pair of black boots for about fifteen squid ,then white dye that was it worked out great.I also have some trooper boots from ca boots and like my home done ones better. Leather-Jodhpur boots is all i typed in to the engine.
  7. here you go a link to the disney page scroll down to the troopers. disney trooper suit.
  8. NOOOOOOO dont get me wrong ,was not putting it down .just look at the prositive posts you have on the look ,you have put the parts together well on a difficult material to deal with.what i have noticed is that the elastic that binds the shoulder bells round the biseps would look better black as screen used.

  11. I have Robs armour and am very happy also. The one thing i found is the overall size compared to the FX . --------------
  12. i was just going to post the TM has made no quote in saying anything about hes armour infact this thread is the most he has ever said about it.There has been no post ever other than hats off for hes time and effort in making the best fan made suit out there. I might add that its the two guys from across the pond that make claim and counter claims about there molds and suits, but saying that again this is the first time i have seen there work.GINO thanks for posting pics of your stuff, they look good in pictures. Pictures is what almost all of us can go on in making our choice or opinion in screen acurate looking armour even the actual armour used in the films. It is the privelaged few that have seen, held or own it,but TM has to have a mark of 10-10 for hes replication of it. "Bottom of the barrel" you say i think you are way out on your own on that quote mister.
  13. I have used the link tutorial,in addition good old chalk pastels from any art shop.Rub them on with finger, use sandpaper on them to create a powder and sprinkle as much or as little as you like. This then blends the colours of the base weathering and does not need fixing with hair spray. For scratch marks use rubber helmet trim ,cut a one inch piece and strick it on your armour, leaves a nice black mark on edges or high spots and does not scratch because its rubber.A nice Subtle touch.
  14. Here you go,this is how most of the MEPD guys weather there suits WEATHERING TUTORIAL Hope this helps
  15. TD = sandtrooper TK= stormtrooper The TD did not have the canister on there belt Its the TK that uses the canister .
  16. this stuff melts the two sufaces together,it is a little thicker than water ,so what you do is hold the two parts of ABS together use a small brush loaded with the stuff and apply round the join.As it is like water it runs round the join and 10 seconds later you have a purfect finish. It drys almost as soon as you put it on,almost evaporates leaves no colour nothing to say you were there. DO NOT LOAD YOUR SMALL BRUSH TO MUCH<IT WILL RUN PAST THE JOINS AND IF YOUR FINGER GETS IN THE WAY OF THE RUN IT WILL LEAVE A FINGER PRINT. Just try it on some scrap first. Its all over eBay.ABS GLUE or weld.
  17. Its a form of ABS glue.It is very liquid ,i press the two parts together then run the glue round the edges with a small brush loaded with the weld solution. It runs round the joint 10 seconds and you have a rock solid weld.Meaning the two surfaces have become one by melting them together.
  18. here you go. http://www.tonybarnett.plus.com/snaps.html
  19. yes mate i have painted the whole of my FX suit with KRYLON FUSION ,and yes you can get hold of it in the United Kingdom.I used Gloss white with no sanding or primer .All i did after it had set for a few days was give it a buff with a car polish job done,no fuss no nasty mess and good covering power.I converted a TK set to TD so had lots of mods with differant shades of ABS.Heres the link to the only UK suplyer of KRYLON.Shipping a little on the high side but worth it for a good finish,i sugest you get three cans of gloss white. ------
  20. Thanks dave for your first class report, along with the pros and cons of a first troop.Lid off to you mate.
