What white paint for AP armour - UK
stukatrooper replied to james007bond's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
No painting needed for AP ABS .First off sand off the glue or lumps 100% then wet and dry paper the area.T-cut the area and finally T-cut the area and for good measure T-cut it.The plastic will buff up very nice. -
As i have only got my Tk numbers this week, though ive been around this forum for 2years or so.I never got the chance to troop with you mate.Im a little sad about that as i feel you and a few others that hang out here i would like to meet on a troop.

OK my friend got some time to put you on the right track.I have seen that you need to fix one side of your suit together(the AB and Back on the right hand side as you look at it.) There are many ways you can do this ....... Easy as you are slim is to run some velcro down the side and your done. The other side will overlap but will hold by its self.Or if you have lots of room run velcro down both sides and step into it. My old RT suit was masive and that was my fix.Found an old picture to help. Dont go with the heat ideas as i feel your not ready for this method (You really need to know what you are doing with plastic) Im still getting it wrong after lots and lots of practice. The other way is for a screen look suit with rivets down the right side . First off cut a strip of ABS .Drill three holes for the rivets.Push the rivet in from the outside of the suit through the AB part, through the strip and capped with a male snap head. Thats the Ab part done. Now offer up the back part, mark the position of the rivets and do the same three rivets and snaps on the back part (Right side only as you look at the suit from the front.) Like this.... The two halves front and back are joined like this ......... Three 1 inch elastic straps with female snaps. I have a ton of pictures of my old AP build HERE I hope some of this helps. -
Outstanding ,your suit is way off the chart mate. Some of if not the best pictures i have ever seen .

PGHtrooper21's First AP build[*AP]

good luck with your buid mate. Medium Viscosity is the flow of your E6000 not the strength, meaning its not runny like water. All E6000 has a very strong bond.just remember a little goes a long way,you are not trying to glue a tie fighter to the side of your house. The only thing i would sugest is get hold of some earth magnets 10x10x5mm these are used as clamps for the ANH finishing strips as clamps alone will be short. Keep us posted on your build and remember No question is dumb. -
Blimy Bill your reading my mind again,Well we asked for pics and we sure go them.just outstanding stuff mate. These shapes and curves should gloss the covers of top shelf mags.

Like i said i picked up my belt from the one and only firebladejedi (Mark) today. We had a meet for the first time. The belt was all thats needed to finish this suit so better get on......

Today is the first chance ive had for a test fit of the upper armour.Ive been building the TM this year on and off.The new TM kit as you may know is Acrylic capped ABS .I have still to add the shoulder details to the chest, this test fit was to check the strapping on the shoulder bells, chest and back plate. Im picking up the canvas belt today so will be getting the lower parts fitted over this May holiday.Im 5'9" and 150 pounds . Just an art shot of the parts for good measure.

High Resolution TK picture
stukatrooper replied to lor's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
every time i look over this picture hi rez (often).im always finding new questions that buzz around my head.Like i wonder what the gaps were filled with on the ANH strips running down the arms and legs? and how thick was the body armour? But like you say Billy just never gets old looking over it at such high quality .BTW is the troop a public showing PM me details if you got time? -

looking at your body size the strip measurements will work great.I dont think these strip sizes are set in stone its more about how it looks on you,but you cant go wrong with the sizes you quoted. They are the ones i go with every time. -
TK 8089 requesting AnH Elite Status.[56][FX]
stukatrooper replied to Zoltan Tyrell's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Fantastic news Nick good to see in elite great start to 2009! -
I think what i did was use the modeling iron to shape the flate part.Once it was glued i used a file then sanded with wet and dry .The ANH strip covers most of the errors. i knew this was going to be a problem so on trimming i left enough material to adjust the lip again with the iron. -----------
