Glue Question: No ABS Glue/Cement
stukatrooper replied to Midnyt17's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
It would be very impractical if your suit fell apart if you use the wrong glue! E6000 or plastic weld is the way to go no questions asked Tamiya glues are for models and would not be suitable for the job in hand though they are solvent based you armour would end up in bits around your feet on your first troop. All that hard work and effort gone to waste! -
Pre-clearance photos (ANH Stunt)

I just noticed the forarm is not strapped to the bicep?try this method the forarm will hang from the bicep use snaps or velcro to fix. -

A good way to make the forarms fit better and bring the bi-ceps down a little would be like this. There are two ways to trim the chest plate first off like you said go for the Luke look, the second would be to trim the neck area down more and pull the chest plate up with some strap adjustments. All in all a top build EIB next! -
this lid is set for stun!
stukatrooper replied to R2Dan's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Nice one mate,You must have this picture of the super high res promo trooper suit.I believe paul replicated this suit some years back. Crayon sounds a good idea, last week i washedmy suit over with black Acrylic after it was dry i took it off with scrunched up news paper 99%,the 1% that was left looks fantastic with very fine black lines. Edit dont forget them boots. -

Good little tip for non lasting weathering is to rub the suit with cheap newspaper, for the scuff marks use some rubber neck trim gives some great FX and reversable.top suit my friend and a great photo shoot. -
The three pictures showing the set for Stun trooper getting blasted by Liea in #1 are frame after frame pictures.the blast seems more like a fuse rather than a squib charge. So maybe we are calling them wrong, they are fuses not squibs as we know them today. The blast starts small fizzes then fizzes red with lots of smoke just like setting off a fuse made of gun powder (sort of thing).I have no idea how these things are made, are they powder wrapped in paper? Im glad this thread has got going (A slow fuse)

Mine you if you look at this picture the trooper on the right has mr no stripes chest plate on with the tape.Maybe this is just a split chest plate? OOOOHHH i dont know As far as i can see he only has the chest plate, the shoulder bells and arms are not the same. One hell off a free for all in the costume dept.

This maybe old news to some of you but i love to find stuff out like this.Like you said Panda it almost puts you in the minds eye of GL as he plays the sceen through. Mr no stripes tape as he looks down at hes fallen buddy and the stunned Leia. This tape is in the same place as Set for stun trooper but on the opposite side.
-
I had some time on my hands today,so did what we all do and got my once a month fix of ANH.got looking at the gaffa tape positions on the suits, seeing if they were split or damaged.then along came set for stun with mr no strips, look what happened! Gaffa tape left side chest as you look at the picture. "theres one set for stun" Leia gets in first. Sets the Squib off on the left chest area were the gaffa tape is. Just goes to show you can never see enough of this film.So the gaffa tape we see are squibs, also Mr no stripes has one on hes right chest side as we look at the screen,so maybe Leia was ment to blast both troopers (Maybe)

Hi all,I have ever since i started to troop found it frustrating how the battery pack and the Rom-FX are two separate components.I am one for over engineering my trooper stuff for better or for worse so can up with this as a solution, everything in one box. It seemed a good idea to do this and to have it attach to the chest plate with velcro. Then i thought how am i going to turn it on and off without having to take the armour off. How about an external switch? Thats what i did,put a switch between the Rom and the battery pack.for this to work you need the Rom-FX switched on all the time,Its the external switch that cuts the power from the batterys. Heres how it was done i will do a proper wiring diagram soon, but the pictures are clear as to what goes were. This is not field tested yet but works great in the workshop, fitted with a nice big switch just tuck your hand behind your chest plate for on and off.I also fitted a jack extension for the speaker as seen in picture.

Not sure mate? I have trimmed the ears down as i always do about 10mm at the top.Loked at all the pictures i have and they all look as these do.The face plate as you look at the lid flares out on the right so maybe thats making them look a little fat. This right side flare is in all the new TM faces i have seen first hand, nothing i have done.

Hi all,i think i took longer opening the box than finishing the lid which is now ready for trooping. It seems some of you thought it was going to be ESB,but this was never the plan and as it was first posted in the ANH stormtrooper section should have been enough of a clue.Anyway spent the week making the kit which went together very well, the brow rubber was positioned as close as i could to the SFS also the right and left ears, one being a little lower than the other finished with a set of Keiths mic tips..All details are painted exept the tube stripes which are from TK4510.Thanks to Paul for again making a fantastic new lid for my 2010 trooping. Thanks for taking part in this thread it was fun
