These are what I used on mine. https://www.amazon.com/Excel-Curved-Lexan-Scissors-2-Inch/dp/B0006O5KEG along with the "score and snap" method.

Looks good trooper! good luck, looking forward to seeing you get your TK number!

Welcome aboard! If it hasn't been mentioned yet, make sure you start a build post once you do get your kit. We all love seeing new kits getting built and it is a great way to show off your work and get help with parts you aren't sure meet the requirements! Good Luck selecting and building the kit for you!

As part of my journey in the 501st and FISD, I'm helping my son build his TK. He is going from Bridge Crew and TI Reserve to ANH TK, and we are hoping to meet EIB requirements, (I'm modifying mine as we go along). Here are a few pictures of our progress thus far.

Welcome aboard! I will watch your progress with great interest. I'm a novice 3d printer my self and I would love to see this get approved! Good Luck!

I need to do some more research, what it this "green" plastic? And for $650 I could get another kit... :-) I'm sure these are amazing. I hope all that want one get one.

Welcome, looking forward to checking out your build page! I'm thinking of picking up an AM4.5 kit myself as my ATA Works kit is a tad small on me. Thinking of turning it into a TD. Good Luck on your way to Centurion!.

TK-22020 Requesting ANH EIB Status (RS) (996)
jsilvius replied to TK22020's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
That's awesome Cameron! I'd love to see you do an update to your build thread if you made one to show how you do the shimming. I have to shim mine as well (the big hold up on my EIB application). You're on the home stretch! Your kit looks amazing. Best of luck! -
Congratulations! It is an amazing feeling. Can't wait to see you post up your Troop log! Welcome aboard Trooper!

Stormtrooper Armor Template
jsilvius replied to BlasianStormtrooper's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Good luck to you! I've not seen anything like this, it would be interesting to see. Most of use get vacuum formed ABS armor from one of the approved vendors. But if you've got the skill, give it a shot and check with your GMO to make sure that it will get approved! -
Can't wait to see your build and approval pictures! Feel free to ask any questions you come up with!
-
I wish I knew the answer. I'm going to guess and say yes, as I don't think I've seen any "reference images" that show that line. But as I'm not on the approval team, I'll leave it to them to say for sure. Are you looking to go EIB with the your commander? I'm working on upgrading my TK as well! Good Luck to you!

Welcome to the FISD! Make sure you create a build thread once you get to BBB Day! And be sure to ask any questions, we are here to help!

Nadas Requesting TK Pre-approval for HWT
jsilvius replied to Nada's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
tots jelly... That is amazing. I have to start work on a Backpack. Good job Trooper! -
Just based on what I've seen and learned over the past year, I would avoid getting any 501st related items from eBay like the plague. Unless you know the seller is reputable and is using eBay as a platform to drive some sales, I would check on the approved vendors list here on whitearmor that Mario provided and hit one of them up. The helmets is tough enough with two parts and two ears, I don't think I'd want to add a third part. personally. Good luck in your endeavors.

Thoughts on AM 4.5 ANH TK kit
jsilvius replied to Echo3_Skywalker's topic in New Member Introductions
Hey Stephanie! As the others have pointed out already, AM makes a great kit for larger folks. And you can trim it to fit any size. I wish I had done my homework before I bought the kit I did. I'm 6'2" and 260lbs and I have some issues with my ATA Works kit. It is a bit small either in the chest or abdomen, as well as the shoulder bells. My son who is 5' 11" and 175 lbs fits in his ATA Works kit like it was made for him. Whatever way you go, ask alot of questions, and don't forget to start a build thread so we can see your progress and help out anyway we call. We love helping new troopers get going! These folks at FISD are a great help. I'm happy I had access when I was working on TK. Good Luck! -
