  1. Welcome to the FISD! Can't wait to see your build thread. I love my ANH ATA kit, it will be cool to see an ESB build.
  2. Colin, I posted it on your FB share, and I'll say it hear as well. This is amazing. I'm truly in awe of your creativity. I hope to try and mimic something like this. Thank you for sharing!
  3. Welcome to FISD Victor! I still think Shiny White Armor is the way to go, but a nice Black TX is good formal ware. Good luck with your build and your brothers, let us know if we can help! Can't wait to have you join us.
  4. Welcome to FISD and to Garrison Tyranus! I'm just down in RVA, so not too far away if you need help. As Jason said, there is plenty of help to be had here and in the Garrison! Good luck with your build and I hope to get a chance to troop with you soon!
  5. Welcome, and I'll echo what several of the others have said, take your time, do some research (as you are doing now), and use the approved vendor list as the majority of those are vetted and have positive feedback from members of the FISD. I will say to make sure when talking to the vendors, you get an idea of the size of the armor. I went with one that has a good reputation and the armor is solid (ATA Works), but I didn't know the armor was meant for someone under 6' and less than 200 lbs. At 6'2" and 250lbs, my armor looks a bit small on me.
  6. I hear that, and I'm happy to hear "for now" and "already planning" [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  7. Are you bailing on a build, or just pausing? I'd hate to see you not join us!
  8. As 2020 is winding up, I just wanted to add my Three "unofficial" troops, just so I have them noted. I got my TK approved Feb. 15, 2020. The following Saturday, my wife and I did a dry at a small local con at a local high school to help their drama department. It was just amazing the smiles I got, and how much everyone loved to see my stormtrooper there. Then my son and I did 2 "unofficial" troop for a Sci-fi marathon at a family owned Drive-in Theater. We did it 2 of the 4 night they ran the movies, and it was amazing. So even with COVID-19 ruining 2020, I still got 10 TK troops in (even if unofficially). The Garrison did get to "film" the Christmas Parade this year. We did it Halloween morning, and the aired it last week, but my TK is currently under going some repair, so I had to wear my TI Reserve.
  9. You guys are amazing, now I just need to figure out how to tie "Do you know what is going on" and "maybe it is a another drill" together. LOL
  10. It is an interesting watch. As a new builder, I can tell you the horror of using the heat gun. I destroyed several pieces of ABS trying to learn how to use it. As with most building tools, experience is key. Test and practice on scrap. I found the hot water bath method works in most cases with the ABS.
  11. Your build is looking amazing. Keep it up.
  12. Looks great. I currently have an ATA kit and I'm thinking about making it a TD and getting and AM kit. Keep up the good work, I'm enjoying watching it come together.
  13. Good luck, can't wait to see how the process goes! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  14. Congrats! I am in awe. I hope to get mine to EIB standards in the new future. Thank you for your hard work and sharing these images. This helps other Troopers, like me, see what we need to do to meet the requirements.
  15. Number 6 in the TK. VAComicCon 8/22/2020 This was my wife's first official troop. She is Mara Jade DS-32076.
  16. Congrats Trooper! Welcome to the front line!
  17. Jason, Welcome to FISD and Welcome to my home Garrison! I'm one of the FISD Attaches for Tyranus, if I can help you with your build, please let me know! James
  18. Welcome Trooper! Congrats on your successful build!
  19. Welcome Dylan! I've got an ATA kits, and I just finished building one for my son. Make a build thread, do a search in the forums for some build guides. Take lots of pictures, and ask lots of questions. It seems a bit daunting at first, but take your time, and don't rush. E6000 is your friend as you can take it apart if you make mistakes. Also, cut slowing, and take a little bit at a time, it is easier to remove more than it is to add it back on. There are a few great building guides on youtube as well. I watched several members youtube build guides. Also, join your local garrison and see if they have any build parties. I know with the social distancing it is a bit harder, but we've do a few, and since we are normally wearing masks since we are working with glues and abs shavings and it is a good idea anyway. Good luck and let us help, just ask, I'm sure there is someone here that I can give you some pointers.
  20. Welcome to FISD! Be sure to create a build post and show your progress once you decide. I don't think you can go wrong with the classic ANH Stunt TK! Be sure to ask lots of questions, that is what we are here for! We want you to have the best kit you can build, and we are here to help!
