  1. RS is super accurate stuff and it looks like you did a good job putting it together so I imagine you’ll be just dandy with basic 501st approval, I would tighten up that belt so it sits correctly before sending off photographs though. That said, it comes down to fitnent issues. Belt as you’ve already mentioned, but also: - You can easily pull your forearms down a good 30-40mm toward your hands, there is a huge gap there. This will also give you more space between your forearms and biceps which will help with movement, especially things like being able to put on and remove your bucket unassisted. - Also, your right forearm appears to be rotating outward. A simple strapping tweak should fix that. - For best appearance (and EIB/Centurion) you’ll want to get those shoulder bells pulled in closer to your bridges, shortening the attaching straps should do the trick. Film reference: (You can also see correct belt positioning here, top of belt should touch bottom button of ab plate.) - Your posterior is overlapping your thighs quite a bit, this may impact movement and/or create unwanted noises while trooping. - There appears to be a seam where you’ve shimmed your kidney plate to close up the gap on the left, this will need to be filled in with ABS paste and polished out for Centurion only. Again, great job on your build.
  2. I believe they are similar products.
  3. FYI, the sniper knee rivet has been fixed in the CRLs.
  4. Fixed a couple goofs, WTF and RWA added.
  5. I used nylon for: - shoulders - kindey/posterior - with elastic the sides of the posterior kept flaring out and giving me wings - ab/kidney, left (rivet) side - to keep it cinched tight - thighs (w/ garter system) Elastic was used everywhere else for range of motion reasons, and so I can actually get IN my armor.
  6. Right on. Have fun.
  7. They usually have loops on the back don’t they?
  8. Anyone tried using Flex Seal instead of Plastidip on lining a helmet? Seems like it might be more durable. There's also Rustoleum's version: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-12-oz-LeakSeal-Black-Spray-265494/203165631
  9. PSA: This applies to all costumes, not just FOTK's. Keep it in mind when comparison shopping/pricing things out. An IOC uniform or TB may look cheaper but when you add it all up, it's always twice what you expect.
  10. Congrats Glen! You're well on your way to six-time Centurion, thanks for making all of us look bad.
  11. Coming together nicely. Good job on countersinking those bracket screws... looks even better than the film suits.
  12. Added some stunt/hero clarification, additional contact info, and link to the approved vendor thread.
  13. Good luck buddy. Not that you’ll need it.
  14. I can post again! Haven’t been able to since Friday. Safari Mac/iOS (latest versions).
  15. So true, 3 costumes in planning stages right now and I was pretty sure I was only ever going to have one (ironically enough a FOTK that still hasn’t shipped!).
  16. Hi Michael, good job getting your build completed. TD is held in place via friction. If it moves around, either your belt is too loose or the alumin clips beed to be bent tighter to hold it on, or both. Belt should be level horizontally so where it lays is where it lays, don’t worry about whether it covers the gap or not IMO. A couple things to keep in mind should you choose to apply for EI/Centurion (and you should, you’re almost there!): - You’ll need to shim to close up the ab/kidney gap on your sides, there ideally should be little to no gap, Centurion you’ll need no gap - Top of belt should come up to bottom of lowest button on ab plate - Drop boxes should be aligned with ends of belt I’m on my phone so its difficult to post reference images, hope this makes sense without. Good luck on pre-approval but I think you are on the right track!
  17. Congratulations. Now time for EIB.
  18. Either should do for Centurion.
  19. What kit is that? Some vendors offer taller shins which would help close the gap. For the arms its recommended to space out the hand plate / forearm / bicep gaos as evenly as possible. This guy is 6’4” and he was cleared so it is possible! (Sadly, Photobucket ate his photos.)
  20. On that note, I assume Trooperbay’s MP40 pouch will be L3 acceptable for FOTK’s? Or do I need to hunt down a specific one for screen accuracy? [/sidetrack]
  21. Nailed it (again). Congratulations. Onward to Centurion #2!
  22. Good work. Sniper knee... you will need all the clamps. ALL OF THEM.
