Dmorja: new adventure starts
Harbinger replied to Dmorja's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Good luck on your build. If you do go for Expert Infantry/Centurion and get stuck, let me know. I'm ~2 hours away. -

There is no such thing (see signature quote). -
Reno NV First Order Build [Diversity Props]

No problem. You box will look 1000% better than mine, I didn’t paint it. Just some minimal padding and some exterior bling (TKID plaque and some aluminum plates from our local R2 builders). -
MIMBAN TK CRL/Research Discussion thread.
Harbinger replied to Parquette's topic in Remnant Build threads
Never understood that logic personally. CRL updates would be so much easier if all the shared suits were in the same detachment. Either way this probably doesn’t end up in FISD if it’s dirty or a recolor, sounds like. -
Reno NV First Order Build [Diversity Props]
Harbinger replied to Reno_Geek's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
I saw one guy here that used a cut-up mattress pad from Walmart. -
We already specify size for the belt etcetera, some CRLs (looking at you, Pathfinders) calls out width for all strapping for the higher approval tiers, might be worth adding?
-
I double checked and this is currently what is there: The plastic shoulder straps need to be held down in the back via a white elastic band to the white fabric that connects/bridges the chest and back piece. ...This should probably be amended to specify size.

Harbinger’s F-11D Build (AKA sanding, the thread)
Harbinger replied to Harbinger's topic in Weapons of the First Order
Now that Anovos has set shipping dates for the FOTK kits, it's time to resurrect and finish this project (sans white paint!). Not much left to do, so final finishing of parts, electronics, and still trying to get some aluminum parts for this thing to give it that wow factor. -

Good luck, hopefully the wait isn't too long. -
ANOVOS (DENUO NOVO) FOTK Armor Delivery Possibility
Harbinger replied to JonnieBear's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
We'll see. I'm more curious to see a side-by-side of the premier and standard line kits. I opted for the cheaper one, so hopefully someone has the means to do a comparison when they start shipping. Sounded like it was just the better helmet, better TD and soft goods on the premier kit. -
ANOVOS (DENUO NOVO) FOTK Armor Delivery Possibility
Harbinger replied to JonnieBear's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
Yes! Time to go shopping. -
Shins... yeah sorry brainfart. Hot water bath is probably your best bet.

I ended up using ABS cement, it is a solvent-based weld so it is the “nuclear option” but only way I could glue my forearms closed. Only needed it on the one side like you seem to require. Make sure you don’t need to tweak fitting as it is quite permanent. PS: Hearing assist mics behind brow trim, haven’t seen that before.

ANOVOS (DENUO NOVO) FOTK Armor Delivery Possibility

Personal experience, this means nothing. Standard boilerplate response, but here’s hoping. -
Is AM/FX armor still good for 501st approval?
Harbinger replied to Nativtexan's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
The FX helmet won't be approvable but if you get a new helmet I believe you can still get basic 501st approval, it is just the higher accuracy tiers where you would run into issues. -
More progress on the helmet last night and today. I started by stripping out the factory-included liner, trim, lenses, mounting hardware etc. What was left was a plain white bucket: After that came separating the helmet into its respective parts (the brow trim is glued on so I'll leave it be): They left the protective film on the front part of the helmet that is obscured by the other half when assembled (I found it funny!): After that came cleaning off all the glue/residue from the old hardhat liner and tape that held in the from mesh, then sanding the entire interior with 320 grit sandpaper (not pictured), followed by masking off all the areas I didn't want to get paint on. Then it was time for paint, I was able to hit it with one coat of Rustoleum LeakSeal before it got dark: Tomorrow I'll give it another coat (or two) and start putting it back together. My USB lipstick charger should be here tomorrow too, so I'll be able to get the fans hooked up and test them out.

The Anovos guys had similar debates, FWIW. Shin-gate.

TK4187 requesting ANH Stunt EIB status [WTF] [802]
Harbinger replied to adailyptc's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
FWIW, I used snaps where possible so the position of "stuff" doesn't change as compared to velcro. I do use velcro for my thigh garter straps, but (protip) I used a silver sharpie to add a reference line so they are same every time. -
"E6000 + Snaps = Uh-Oh" deformation discussion thread

Can anyone with an ATA or other thicker-plastic kit chime in? I wonder if that solves the issue... -
Uxorious' first build - the road to 501st
Harbinger replied to Uxorious's topic in ANH Build Threads
I have the belt system, no suspenders. Considering adding a pair for reasons outlined above. -
Very clean.

Is this site acceptable for boots?
Harbinger replied to Darth Cobay's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
RS is reselling ImperialBoots AFAIK. -
If it makes you feel any better YOU will be the only one who notices. I destroyed my belt rivet caps while I was replacing the canvas portion of the belt on my Anovos kit, and had to source replacements from ATA - they’re just a hair off from Anovos’ shade of white, but if I try to point it out to other people they act like I’m insane.
