  1. I enjoyed it better on the second viewing. I think I was trying to concentrate too much on the storyline and working out what some of the characters were saying! Can't wait for the blu-ray to be launched. Mind you, I DO still have some tickets after 'trooping at my local cinema
  2. Pics would be great Will I PM you email addy?
  3. Ok, so I've started rough-trimming, removing structural supports, etc. How are the limb parts put together? Did you glue them all front and back?
  4. This one... post #192 particularly.http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/37102-rotj-reinforcement-for-austria-the-empire/page-10
  5. I've said it before, but this is remarkable. I have a 4ft Battle Buddy in the garage, awaiting deconstruction
  6. Just to get an idea of the fit. I'm 6ft, and kinda at the upper end of the height level, before extended shins are required. I have a pair of extended shins already from Ross, as they colour-match with my SDS kit. Haven't trooped with them yet, though, as I still need to trim here and there.
  7. Great build Is that acrylic capped or standard ABS? Do you mind if I ask how tall you are?
  8. There was a ROTJ build recently, where the builder made an amazing job on the eyes... check out over in the ROTJ builds section.
  9. Sorry, mixed text up with photos, but you'll get the idea... OK, here are some pics of my recent outing to Dunfermline Odeon's Rogue One screenings. I have to say, I trooped in an unofficial (non-501st) capacity for the midnight showing on Wednesday, then for a couple of hours on the Friday evening, followed by an official UKG troop with a second TK (Mark Duffy) and our spotter, Alisdair Gilbert. The Odeon's management and staff were just wonderful throughout the whole thing and are a real credit to the company. So, that out of the way, a little background... The Wednesday night premiere was a very steady stream of customers from pretty much 10:30, when I arrived, through to 12:15am, when I de-kitted and enjoyed a much-appreciated free premier seat and hotdog During that couple of hours, though, I had been warned that a certain little blonde girl - maybe about 8 years of age - had appeared in full (rather impressive) Vader costume - At the midnight showing of TFA, and that she may show again. We weren't disappointed. My spotter saw her glowing lightsaber appear at the front doors. Alerting me, he ushered me to the foyer, where I stood to attention and welcomed the diminutive figure, dressed head-to-toe in black We spent a good while getting photos taken, chatting to her parents etc, as she strutted around. Turned out, she enjoyed herself so much, she wanted to make another appearance on the Saturday. And she did. She's Vader, she can do as she pleases What a wee star! Myself and the other TK were marching around the complex, escorting her, loads of customers got their photos taken with the three of us and she put many, many smiles on faces The manager even asked her if she'd like to walk in front of a couple of the screens, as the trailers were playing. Of course, she was up for that. With the helmet off, hardly a word was spoken by the shy little girl, but her grin from ear to ear said it all. We were all grinning. What a fabulous troop Some pics: (I'm the unbranded trooper, after my EIB application)
  10. Loved it. There were a few places where I think things could have been done better... some of the CGI etc, but overall, great. And if I was a 10 year old boy again, I'd be hooked And Vader is badass
  11. And a lovely news article, from the hospice visit https://stv.tv/news/features/1375584-force-for-good-star-wars-rebels-bring-smiles-to-children-s-faces/
  12. Had a couple of 'Non-501st' troops recently, collecting for a local childrens' hospice - CHAS - (for kids with life-threatening or limiting conditions). First up is a group pic - an eclectic mix of myself, some Rebel Legion (unofficial) and guys from a local not-for-profit convention. Then, we visited one of CHAS' hospices, just up the road from me, to spend some time with the kids and their families... And a completely selfish shot of me, with twinkly lights because I love it Photo credits: Mark Harwood.
  13. Inside my helmet, I used cheap kitchen scouring sponge pads (yes, really!). The rough scouring part sticks to the hook side of velcro. And they're inexpensively replaced
  14. Hmm... Try this: http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=28538&hilit=tk+loop
  15. Yeh, if you have a slim frame, the belt will pull the bottom of the ab plate in at the bottom, leaving the top wider. Some padding might help around the lower part?
  16. I'd guess that the raised part is maybe to push the cap part (and therefore brow trim) forward slightly, so it doesn't rub on the face plate?
  17. Some things should not be remade
