Just looked at the photos I took at CE2016 and the hip is indeed plain. Which complicated things a little as the answer is "both" unless we break it down to R1, Kenobi, etc which seems like a silly spit and just makes things more complicated than needed. This should be familiar to any of you in the IOC.

Looks like an amazing start. You've probably already seen these but these are the full res reference photos I took at CE2016 and you can see how they are assembled. https://www.flickr.com/photos/themaninthesuitcase/albums/72157671098462536/ -

Hi welcome back, If you drop me a PM and can tell me that email I can merge the two accounts and you can keep which ever user name you want from the two. -
Welcome to FISD. If I have a quid for each time I spelt the url wrong.... Unfortunately I don't think it's that simple. Just because you're 5% shorter doesn't also mean you're 5% thinner for example. Really all scaling shout be done to suit you. There's lot of videos online about scaling armour. You're best bet is probably the Iron man builders who really have to nail it.

Welcome to the FISD. They key to a smooth build really is reading up first before you do anything and then asking lots of questions. Sounds like you've mad a decent start on that already.

FISD Forum Fundraiser 2025 - Completed

Well it's a good thing I am not an accountant Im not exactly sue what I did wrong, but I miscalculated the goal, and we are going to need to re-open the fundraiser. The correct total to get us to the 14 month goal is $865.39. As of writing there is approximately $100 still to raise to make this goal. All donations will still be eligible for the 2025 supporter banner. We' would still ask for a $5 donation from members, but any value no matter how small will be appreciated. Apologies for the error. -
Please do not run un-official merch. We are discussing it, I can assure you. Things take time and need to be organised properly. I can't say what will or will not happen yet because we don't know. We are all volunteers and all have lives out side of the legion. Please allow us time to work through things, it's only been a week. I'm missing the details on this, but would be interested to know what happened to avoid any pitfalls. Honestly, if something were set up, we would only want enough to cover materials and postage. JRS used to have a standing merch store. I am not, or ever have been, JRS so I can only convey what I know. My understanding was you could just order merch from stock and not have to wait for a run. That is about as much as I know well enough to put here. The issue with this, from my stand point and no real knowledge of what JRS did, is who owns that stock? It won't be the detachment as we don't have standing funds to pay for it. So that means a member has paid for it out of pocket and really means that they own it. What happens if that member no longer wishes to hold this, do we have to buy them out? Or worse what if they leave the legion entirely and are now have an official legion merch and no reason to follow the rules. In short please leave it to the staff team. We are actively looking into this. Some things are simple and can happen quickly. Other things will take longer, or have complications we need to work out. Some things, as much as we'd like to, can't happen either due to logistical reasons or just not being permitted to by Legion rules.

MoreWag's R1TK build (jimmi)
themaninthesuitcase replied to MoreWag's topic in Rogue One Build Threads
Nice progress here. would be great to see another R1 trooper! -
I've always put this down to hard armour is not exactly comfortable. I've seen a lot of people build a TK troop an amount of time and now are only seen in an ID or a TI. The idea of something for the trooping awards is not a new idea, There was a staff discussion, I think last year, but it sort of fizzled out and we re-focused on more important tasks, The issue of stock is a big one, we are not in a position to be able to sit on any stock as some one will have to be out of pocket. The other option is to do low volume runs which isn't ideal either, Then there's things like "how many are you allowed", you don't really want an unlimited count on these. Also, believe it or not, FISD isn't a merch heavy detachment and never really has been. We probably have done a little more over the last year or so than in the past, but from what I understand we are not the highest volume producer. Either way, there is now a staff thread and we will consider it again.

Unfortunately this is a result of situations outside of his control. He is doing his best to get products to those who paid for them, as fast as possible. -
Thanks for updating that issue on the back plate, I only can see it as I know it's there. @Deployment Officer Team can you have a look at these for compliance with the current CRL text please. The photos might need to be re done though, especially on the helmet and some lager parts like the chest. The issue is the perspective. I am going to guess you've used a phone camera and got in really close. This distorts how things look and is most visible on the helmet, where the front of the helmet dominates the image. If you are able to using a longer lens (2x, 3x or 5x if you have it) and standing further away for the same framing will fix most of this. It will need to be "real" zoom though not just cropping in as this is caused by the optics. This image shows what I mean a bit more clearly. Same person, same framing but longer focal length (more zoom) looks more like what you want. This is using 2 extremes but demonstrates it well. On some parts this doesn't really matter and what you have will be fine. Just try and keep the camera level with the part and not to look down on them as you have here.

I've had some time to go back and consult references. 9 is indeed correct, and I am not exactly sure how we got 8 as you need an odd number, 7 would have been more understandable! So for this CRL, I have updated the text to 9. For the other R1 based CRLs I will need to make a request to the LMO so will probably only go live as part of the new CRL system.
-
In short, completely missed there had been an update as it fell into a busy period for me! I will add this to the list to do "soon". As @Sly11 said there's platform issues, and Enoch is already ahead of this as well, along with other CRLs from other dets. There are 9 teeth and a bit hard to see but 10 hollow spaces. The text was copied from the Rogue One CRL. If we want to change it, we could, but we would probably want to update all CRLs and also make sure that we're not about to cause a lot of headaches if the available helmets don't meet this.

Hi, Welcome to the FISD. Whilst we've got a few Rogue One troopers, and soon the Night trooper so can help out, the Mimbian Trooper is actually an MEPD CRL. https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Mimban_Trooper Their forum is here: https://forum.mepd.net/
