There's a couple of shorter women in my garrsion who are TK, once kitted up you'd never know. One has the chest plate at a slight angle but you'd need to know to tell. It's all in the fitting and there's actually a reasonable amount of room in the chest plate. Building your own armour is always what I'd recommend. Start reading now, have a poke through the various builds and ask questions. Most armours are, within reason, the same so other then a few details due to female anatomy differences you don't need to focus on anything specific. Even then some of us guys have the same shape issues in places. Read through the getting started section, and ask questions. As for the sound theres a few options but roughly: Mic in the helmet, speaker is usually in the chest cavity and optionally some means to do the voice changing and static clicks. Some people fit it all inside the helmet with speakers in the hovi tips. I use a wireless mic velcro'd in my helmet but also have a wired one. Speaker is an Aker unit in the left of my chest, iphone running an app on the right. My wired mic is a backup, this would go on before my balacla and neck seal, wire runs down inside those and simply plugs in. I use an iPhone app for the voice changing but there's dedicates boxes and even an all in one system. My personal recomendation at the moment is the Tramp (Trooper Amp), not the cheapest but the all in one means less wires to pop and crackle. Also have a look at TrooperTalk, TK Talkie, iComm and Rom-FX. If you have any specific questions ask them and I can be more detailed, this was a bit of a gloss over.

I'm really enjoying this build. Havign the real parts to measure up is really giving you great results.

£5 is probably as good as your going to get for a single piece. How thick is it and what material?

I kind of opened a can of worms there didn't I with my reply. I personally don't like pauldrons unless you're a sandy, can't tell you why must be something to do with colour contrast on a clean TK. That said, if you like them and your unit lets you use them for some events I'm not going to be the one to tell you that you can't wear it.

I don't have RS but Anovos but I had a similar issue, from what I am told the Anovos ones are very similar to RS. One of them has a definite twist to it, not just me several have had this. I use the hook method to close them which helps but they still have a small misalignment, but it wasn't an issue at clearance not 1 person has ever mentioned it. I suppose with velcro you could force it into line but then you're loading the part which can't be good for longer periods. Some have used warm water to slowly reshape the plastic but I don't think it's worth the effort given how small the difference is.

Those thighs need a fair adjustment, ones around 90 degrees twisted. The cover strip should run down the front of the leg. I had a similar issue initial, it turned out it was the elastic was too long allowing the armour to twist. Once sorted it looked better and also wore higher up so was easier to walk.

When ever a company says Q1 or H1 or something like that always take it as they will use every single day of that time. I remember with my kit people were getting upset as it was due "Winter 2015", but the Winter of 2015 will run well into 2016. In that case it was Feb 2016 when it shipped. Vague timescales are important for a company like this that is reliant on exported labour which then has to be transported across an ocean before final distribution. All of which is hard to control and liable to delays.

Hi Dave, where abouts are you? The first two you've listed are worth further investigation, the last isn't. Building a kit isn't as hard as it looks and can be done with a little time, care and help. It's not that different to requiring they post in the correct sub-forum. When they get it wrong the mods have a job to do either way. All that said I do see the advantage of being able to go "lets see what an RS build is like" or any of the dozen or so makers there are.

I'd prefer it was more like the AT with a tag in the title [AM] [Anovos] [CFO] etc. Yet more subforums adds clutter. Though the build areas is in need of a bit of a tidy anyway, lots of builds in the wrong forum.

When I signed up I found the whole thing massivly overwhelming. The search thing was a pain but by no means the worst. I started digging through the Getting started posts and the tutorials sections and 2 things stuck out: missing images and conflicting information. This seems to basically be down to age, old photos have gone away and as we've learnt new thing the older posts and info hangs around. Just look at the billgrams for example, I can't be the only one who built a collection of these and found there was 2 different colour guides, both now out of date! I actually made a new one of these to save me explaining it! (http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/39650-anh-paint-colour-guide/). For what it's worth a single archive of "billgrams" (not just the one by billhag) would be a great resourse, there's a few versions of a few of them now so having 1 post with the updated ones would be great (I think I have all of them). Theres also WAY too much for a new person, I was used to forums but I'd hate to be someone who's new to the idea. As you say 18 pins just doesn't work, and it's not just the getting started like this but also many of the build sub forums. We're going through a similar process in our garrison and I was part of the advisory team so I have a few opinions I could offer on what to do but I don't think that's quite what you're asking for here.

I'd start with the thighs, these are the first parts on when you kit up. What's hitting and where, are they too big, are they too snug or just so? Looking at them they want to come up a shade but there's stuff in the way. You're arms, abs, back, butt and belt also need looking at but one step at a time is the best way to good results. I'd also agree that having a poke through some of the Anovos builds its a good idea, maybe start by going to the centurion section and finding some members who cleared Anovos at level 3 so you can see what they did to get there. (plug: I'm one of them and I have a handy link to my build in my sig)

Nice work. I did some flash guards for my doopy Doo build and they are deceptively hard to get right. You've done an excellent job on these.

The doopydoo kit is one of the best out there for both quality and price (and there for value). But their already poor customer service seems to be getting worse and worse from what I've been reading. I was toying with buying another last summer/autumn but the rumours of stuff taking even longer put me off. There may well be a perfectly valid reason for all these delays but thanks to the "legendary" comms issue we'll never know. Guess it's time for us to all move on, which is a real shame.

Hi will looking good. I will say I wouldn't change out the hoster mounts. The rivets are what was screen used and I know the snaps are just a practicality mechanism and won't show when in use. I use this my self and it is a great compromise between accuracy and practicality.
