  1. I think this looks great. The helmet at CE were more dirty than damaged and I think you've done a great job to get the look.
  2. I'm fully aware who Andrew Answorth is, and I stand by my original statement. Also worth stating SDS is not the same as TK Armour as was being discussed on this thread previously.
  3. Andrew did not create anything. He vac formed the sculpts by Liz Moore (Helemet) and Brian Muir (armour). General advice is to look elsewhere from SDS (Sheperton Design Studios is the general name people use for this armour).
  4. No, you need an adapter or a mic with a TRRS connection like the Rode Smart mic, which would then stop you being able to use the audio output I believe.
  5. The iPhone is specific about detecting the mic when using a cable adapter to split the mic and headphone signals. So far one 2 I know of have been proven reliable, the Conversor one here is one of them. This specific adaptor expects a sterio input, not sure why but it does. With a mono mic you NEED to use a simple inexpensive adapter to convert from mono to stero and it will suddenly start working all else being equal and the mic being appropriate. The application actually displays an icon top left to show which mic is in used after you press start proccessing. If the picture is a phone then it's the phone not seeing the external mic, the app poles all available inputs before selecting that image.
  6. Looking at the photo this would be my first suggestion. The extension might well do it, if it's a mono-> stereo cable.
  7. If you're considering TKVoice please make sure you read the hardware section on my website: http://www.cpearson.me.uk/tkvoice/ If you have any questions let me know.
  8. Good luck Ricky, good to see some more UKG going for EIB!
  9. Is it worth exploring a new provider if the cost increase is that significant? I'm fully aware of how non trivial this would be but with the renewed growth it may be worth considering.
  10. Money is always an issue, and something more affordable is sometimes fine. This may well be that case. But you say you want to clear it, maybe even in a hurry. I am aware of this being cleared by 2-3 garrisons, but none in Northern America. It may well clear with your garrison, my best advice would to be request some up to date images from the seller (or maybe look on their Facebook, think there's some there) and send these to your GML for advice on if they will clear. If time might be problem it might also be worth enquiring on lead times now. Fit will as always, be down to you. I hope you can get something sorted for your friend.
  11. I can't remember the exact details, this post is from October, but this reply was more or less verbatim on several threads. I seem to remember there was some discussion on one of those posts but I may well be wrong. I was at the con mentioned in his post but I was busy trooping for the UKG and by the time I was done everything was over for the day so I don't get a chance to look in detail. Facts I can give you are as follows: the original armour won't clear. The new armour? I've no idea as I've not seen it. If he's at MCM again in spring I'll try find time to go look properly. But ultimately most critism has been acknowledged by the seller. You're right we should have probably called him out on some more of the issues, like the virtual office address on the website and why are all the images on the site from Asia? However we have a number of known good sellers people will be happy to recommend to you. They have proven track records and sell products known to be accurate enough to clear. I'm not going to tell you who to give you're money to. I will however only recommend people I feel deserve it and as of yet I don't feel I can personally recommend this kit until I've seen it and probably held it.
  12. For the Anovos helmet paints I used a mix of humbrol enamel thinners (Hobby craft), Isoproyl Alcohol (local pharmacy) and white spirit. I think I cover what I used for what bits in my build thread, see my sig. Be warned the thinners will chew through the transfers for the traps and stripes REALLY easily. edit: from http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35424-themaninthesuitcase-anovos-ahn-stunt-build/?p=477552 " The frown was removed using the Humbrol enamel thinners." You don't need to go as far as I did though, I chose to do a full repaint.
  13. The ROTJ CRL has some photo issues such as ANH images for a few parts, the staff are working to get these corrected. It would appear that the same image is used on the TKC CRL.
  14. That works, just that one stood out a lot given I've looked at that section more than you normally would. If it's in hand I'll leave that part alone.
  15. Question is are the permissible or mandatory? EIB: No visible rivets are allowed. could become Visible rivets are permitted between the 3rd and 4th bar. Which works for both mandatory and permissible. Cent: These are affixed in the front (no snaps, rivets or brads are visible). Permited: These are affixed in the front (no snaps or brads are visible, though rivets are allowed between the 3rd and 4th bar). Mandatory: These are affixed in the front with a rivet between the 3rd and 4th bar. (Can some one check I can count, I wouldn't trust me). The rear attachment would remain unchanged. Edit: might be better phrased as "a single rivet between the 3rd and 4th bars" or some ones going to use 2+ on each. Would also be a good time to change the image to an ROTJ build with rivets rather than an ANH one.
  16. TM is great, no doubt but there are less expenive options avilable in the UK. Again it's where you want to be on the price vs quality diagram. Best bet: Head over to the UK Garrision http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/. Sign up there, post an intro thread saying where you've gotten to and the armourer team will be able to help you get into the correct armour for you. That may be TM, RS or it may be something else, we have options here. If you want some guidance on the (roughly 4-5) armour options feel free to message me though I'd still recommend signing up anyway as you'll need to eventually to start your WIP for clearance. Chris. ps: Surrey + that logo = Woking area?
  17. Yeah, I'd stear of that one. Some really odd bits on that bucket. If you want some guidance feel free to PM me. Chris.
  18. Welcome done Kev, welcome to Centurion!
  19. That's the closest I got. As Paul says it all flys past pretty fast and theres not a single shot thats in focus/slow enough to have a sporting chance to get a clear view of the bit we need to see.
  20. Also check out ShearTech, they do both resin and rubber blasters from the UK.
  21. From what I am told First Order is less tolerant of non-ideal fit than the OT trooper.
  22. I have a feeling you're confusing 2 people here. 1 the seller of the recast First Order TK, 2 supplier of "less than ideal" armour to boogie storm. Either way, you can do better.
