Is the 501st requirements fair?
themaninthesuitcase replied to GandalfTheImperial's topic in Off Topic
As Joseph says you don't need a blaster to clear in 99% of the Legion. As for "based on" most troopers use plastic toys painted black bought at a local toy shop, or resin/rubber copies. Scratch build is completely fine and many do. 3D printing is also an option, not sure if there's any free files about but you can certainly buy a kit on eBay or etsy. The wording is geared so you end up with something that looks like the original, which was a Sterling submachine gun with a sawn of magazine, some rubber trim, a tank scope and a bit of a WWII radio set. FWIW I think most DLT-19s and all T-21s are scratch builds, not many people casting up a lewis! -
Bloody hell mate that hand file work looks machined. Going to have to have a look at these at a troop once you're done!

I did they will be hidden so it's sort of up to you and how close you want to get to a real one. -
Anovos Death Trooper Armor
themaninthesuitcase replied to TK-16845's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Wouldn't surprise me if LFL or Disney have had a word about how they handle new product launches. -
Anyone deal with Doopydoos lately?
themaninthesuitcase replied to Rotcorp's topic in General Weapons Discussion
Sheartech do one I think. Also based off a real sterling, whilst I can't speak to quality as I've never seen one the guy who runs it is a nice guy. You'll be able to find them on facebook. -
BSP shoretrooper projects
themaninthesuitcase replied to Nobita's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
This is the best fan made armour I've seen and probably on par with the pro stuff. I just hope to be able to own some one day (insert grumbles about the strength of the pound at the moment) -
That's the badger.

Adafruit do a simple board that will do that called the Audio FX board. They used to do one with built in amp too but looks like they killed that one It comes in a 2MB or 1MB built in storage and uses specially named files to work so is very simple.

For an S&T of recommend you speak to Mark, the ones I have done will probably look too small. -
Suitcase Props 3D Printed E-11 parts
themaninthesuitcase replied to themaninthesuitcase's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Mark (who as far as I am aware discovered this) and I actually were working on the sizes together before I released mine. All my dimensions are based on a Doopy Doo and the photos from Celebration. Mark now has a S&T based E-11 he's making and the dimensions are noticably larger in a few key dimensions so mine are actually undersized compared to the film ones but still "about right" for a sterling based E-11. At some point I might ask Mark to send me some dimensions and do an accurate one but at this time if people want 100% I'm sending them to him. If anyone wants the link then https://www.facebook.com/sheartech/?fref=ts I held the 1st cast out of the mold and it look pretty decent, certainly as good as a DD. -
Very tidy! I just used a bit of brass wire, seems to have done the job but time will tell.

Looking good Andy, going to have to keep an eye on this one!

Which boots?
themaninthesuitcase replied to Slayer6769's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
The first time I did that was the first time I wore them for more than a few minutes at home! They are really nice shoes -
Which boots?
themaninthesuitcase replied to Slayer6769's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I'd disagree. I've worn mine, as supplied, for 7-8 hours after spending a week walking round London and my feet didn't even register as a pain point. I've done this a couple of times. -

I also have IB, ordered 1 whole size up and they fit great. Very comfy too. -
I think it's pretty much only run via facebook.

As Marc says in the UKG you are required to have a weapon for any character that carries one. This dates back to the early days of the Garrision, possibly to the pre 501st days. Though this does not mean we would not honour a request from LFL or the appropriate authorites to not carry a blaster, which has happened. The armourer system description is pretty much spot on too. The social side here is nice but I've seen it lead to bad decisions being made when people listen to the wrong person. The UKG also has quite high standards so the system helps guide the new recruit towards these to ensure consistancy.

Any makers currently working on RO TK?

Touch harsh I feel. I quite like the new armour in a lot of ways. -

That's not stopped makers using vac form for both the Shoretrooper and Deathtrooper. I think they are adding the missing detail with resin parts. -

I which case it's probably an artifact of the forum update. -
Imperial Embassies section font issue
themaninthesuitcase replied to Bulldog44's topic in Forum Help & Support
That looks like an encoding issue somewhere in the pipeline. Hopefully its a problem on reading out not writing down. Without knowing the exact details of how forum works and data is stored it's hard to tell if this is fixable, hopefull the tech droid team will be able to help.
