Trooping all say Saturday at a library kids day. 3 sessions, 700 kids, and the 501st all sounds like a good time to me. Not trooping Sunday as it's Fathers day, but Saturday will be my fourth troop this month.
Fuzzy usually happens when you either hold the can too far away or paint in extremely dry conditions. What causes it is the paint starts to dry in the air before it hits the paint surface.
The little beads could be a couple things. Most new painters spray to heavy, but if your in the 1% that sprays to light you can get little beads where you are not getting enough paint on the surface. Their are a few others, but you wouldn't get a fuzz effect with them.
The good news is you can wetsand with 400 grit auto sandpaper and try again.
It's also like that on all the special edition stormtroopers, it's because Lucas wanted it that way. I don't think it's because of a modeler, it was probably like that on the references LFL provided.
Also keep in mind ABS helmets are also just as thin. My AP (ABS) was thinner than any TE2/TE/CAP/or TM I've seen. No matter who the maker is a face plate will always have thin spots.
