First Order TKs - What's the Difference?
mikidymac replied to sharkbait's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I have found that just following the great build threads here like @ukswrath step by step from the beginning is not only much easier but Centurian level from the start is the easiest even if you are just going for basic. It honestly doesn't take any more effort. -
ANOVOS (DENUO NOVO) FOTK Armor Delivery Possibility
mikidymac replied to JonnieBear's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
I am willing to wait and see. If they have a blowout sale because of too much stock at some point that is fine with me too and I'll grab a couple for spare parts. The way I see it is I'm not in a big hurry and Anovos has always delivered at some point and if they cancel I will get my money back at some point too. So, yes I am out the money until they deliver or cancel but if $700 was a big issue in my income I would have never bought it in the first place. In the meantime I am enjoying my ANH TK. -
ANOVOS (DENUO NOVO) FOTK Armor Delivery Possibility
mikidymac replied to JonnieBear's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
I spoke with a supervisor and he stated there have actually been only a very few cancellations. Remember it’s not just us in the 501st buying them. As far as shipping they estimated to complete all shipping by April 2019, not beginning in April was my understanding. -
ANOVOS (DENUO NOVO) FOTK Armor Delivery Possibility
mikidymac replied to JonnieBear's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
Well, it appears that they can't even update their delivery schedule at this point. It still says Spring/Summer 2018 which ended on September 21. No news is Anovos news....... -
As said above the UKSWRATH's thread is the go to step by step bible for your build.

ANOVOS (DENUO NOVO) FOTK Armor Delivery Possibility
mikidymac replied to JonnieBear's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
I know it’s not much but I just finished chatting with a customer service supervisor on another issue and he said not much longer. Hopefully he is correct and at least it wasn’t the typical, I don’t know anything. -
Taller trooper question....
mikidymac replied to TK-42134's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
A little late but I’m 6’3 and 200 lbs and have the Anovos armor and am only rubber gloves and laziness away from centurion. What you need to do for the back is to heat the top of the back armor in boiling water so that you can bend them up and more vertical. This will allow it to sit lower on your back and close the kidney gap. Also get your chest lower too. It will look much better with a larger gap on top since your shoulder bells distract from that. -
I think without getting personal this is good information for people to know here especially if they already sent money or were going to send money since it sounds like he might still be selling. If a vendor is taking money and not fulfilling orders for any reason I think it should be said here to protect us from making a mistake.

ANOVOS (DENUO NOVO) FOTK Armor Delivery Possibility
mikidymac replied to JonnieBear's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
It’s nice they are at least saying something but feels like, they will take longer than we promised but then again maybe not. We’ll just cover our butts either way. -
Does this count?

I will agree in that I only used clear E6000 on my wife’s Anovos Shadow Trooper and it turned out great. If you have to use CA glue for some strange reason get the “foam safe” CA and it won’t leave the white marks and fogging.

Your best resource for the Anovos build is Ukswrath's build. It is step by step and everything is correct for Basic to Centurion.
-
Well thanks a lot Tony. After reading all your build I think I need a FOTK. I thought you might want to look at Bob Smith Industries. They are in Atascadero California and make many very high quality adhesives. Their rubber modified CA might be perfect for the FOTK gaskets.

Well, I am 6’3” and 195 lbs but thin to average build. I went with the first wave Anovos and couldn’t be happier. I received approval on the first attempt and can easily get EIB and Centurion if I order more of Just Joseph’s hand guards. The shins are a tad short but nothing major.

Timberwoof's Anovos ANH TK Build Thread
mikidymac replied to Timberwoof's topic in ANH Build Threads
The easiest method is to score with a utility knife then snap. I found that starting and ending with a snip from lexan scissors helped it break clean at both ends. Search for the score and snap method. -
Being made in China is all about cost and proximity to materials. Labor as well as materials are more expensive in the US. So yes, it’s a money thing. The US in general is no longer a manufacturing giant.

Preventing the blaster holster flipping around
mikidymac replied to 15117's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
How deep is your holster? I have the very rigid Anovos one and the blaster fits very deep keeping the CG low. Also the very stiff Tkittle bell helped immensely. -
Balaclava/head sock - why?
mikidymac replied to Millar007's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
That is one of the best reasons in my opinion. It holds my mic in perfect position. Plus you need to remember that almost every kid is looking up and under your bucket so it keeps the illusion of the Trooper. Maybe it’s just a 6’3” Trooper problem? -
Those gloves with justjoseph’s silicone hand guards are perfect and so comfortable.

Will these boots work?
mikidymac replied to Evil Robot Ted's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
The best paint to use is the Angelus Leather. -
Which hand guard for trooping
mikidymac replied to Falciform13's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I prefer the nomex gloves and JustJoseph’s silicone hand guards. I hate the abs as they would move around and lost them numerous times high fiving kids. -
As others have said, no armor is 501st approved. What is approved is how you build it and how it fits you. If you take the best armor and do a bad job with fitment and build you will not be approved. As far as the Anovos FO TK if you build and fit it correctly you should have no problem getting it approved. That being said, I don't think Anovos has shipped a single kit of the final FO TK at this time.

How do you remove E600 from armor?
mikidymac replied to Stormy3D's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Be very careful with the nail polish remover, it can melt plastic. -
Yet Another Anovos Build / Missing Soft Parts...
mikidymac replied to StevenBills's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
LOL, I thought you were me for Halloween but then I would be you. ----------- Looks like we finished at the same time. -
Mesh is not an actual measurement but micron is. So what micron is the screen? I don't know. Just a little nerd humor for myself, I deal with this all the time in my job. Sorry. If someone can tell me the micron of the screen I might be able to get a lot of it in stainless for members on the cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
