You'd be surprised, Alex. If you do decide to sell, it may help to take photos of you wearing the full set and include your height/weight. -
It's hard to say how many have been taken advantage of by Anovos. Thousands, by looking at their history. At first, they delivered decent kits at a decent price. Then, it seems that they went beyond their means, promising delivery dates that could not be met. There are those who ordered kits 3 years ago who are still waiting for it to be shipped! This is one of the reasons that Anovos is no longer part of the "vetted" seller area, and should be avoided.

Not to hijack your thread, Troy, but I HAVE to see this! Not meaning to hijack your thread here. Troy, but I have to see this! -
It depends on what you mean by "Talking like a Trooper", James. If you mean responses to the public, here is a thread that may help: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47603-howto-talk-like-a-stormtrooper

Yeah, I've been told that many times, but then the alarm clock rings and I wake up.

My apologies, Don. That image was in someone else's post and I did not do my homework on the originator. HUZZAH on the creativity, though! It actually made me spit blue milk through my nose!

Although you can't have the elastic around the bicep to hold it in place, I suggest using the "double snap" method to connect your shoulder bell(s) to the bicep(s). A two inch wide nylon strap with 2 snaps on each side should solve this problem. (Strap shown in blue, snaps in yellow).

Hi Katie, and THANKS for the Phantastic Capt. Phasma submission! You have an awesome looking build there, but we ask that you use imgur or a similar photo-sharing service to post the actual pics onto your thread. I realize there are a lot of them (which we really appreciate) and it may take some time, but it will make it much easier to expedite your submission and get you approved. Doing this also helps those who may be planning on submitting this costume for EI to see what an incredible job you have done and hopefully aim for the higher levels as well. You did a lot of work, so show it off, Captain!

This is what we are here for, Alex. Don't take this the wrong way, as it is only a suggestion. Years ago when I saw a Stormtrooper costume on a Halloween cruise I thought "Oh... my.. God..,". I have wanted to be a TK since 1977, and here is one right in front of me! So, I went online (eBay) and bought a kit for 280 bucks. While researching how to put it together I ran across the 501st and FISD. I was kind of gutted when I found out that it was a cheap re-cast and would never even make Basic approval. But, I built it anyway for the experience and then sold it on eBay for $340.00 as a "Halloween Costume". I made it quite clear in the listing that it was not 501st approvable, (I didn't want t deceive anyone) but it sold in 3 hours. What I am saying is that in a worse-case scenario you may want to consider selling it and purchasing a kit from one of our vetted vendors. There are LOTS of folks out there who want to be a Stormtrooper but have no interest in joining the 501st... they just want it for comicons (or to scare neighbors), lol. Unfortunately, this is not an inexpensive hobby, but if when you get a set of armor approved you have the chance to join the ranks of like-minded folks who come together to bring smiles to a lot of faces, which in my opinion is what it's all about. "...what paint is usually recommended for the gloss white on stormtrooper armor? Just as you said, gloss white. ABS varies in color from maker to maker, but as long as you go with a bright shade of white you are good to go, -
Oh cr@p, I forget who I asked permission from!
-
Actually, I got permission from DZFireMedic to use that, as he designed it.
-
Looking sharp, Jonas! If I could make a suggestion, it would be to purchase an under suit (compression suit). Sweatpants are a lot bulkier, which can make it difficult to get accurate fitting, and since you will eventually need one for approval, might as well get it now. They are available on Amazon or in sporting goods stores, but make sure they are plain black with no letters/symbols.

Truly sorry you got a bad deal on that, Alex, but nothing is impossible. It all depends on how much time you have to spend on it. Before you go any further, can you post up some photos (front/side view) of the helmet? This will help determine the maker of the armor. (Important). It would also help immensely to post up some photos of you actually wearing the armor to determine any fitment issues. Once we can see where the work needs to be done we can better assess how to proceed from there to get you started. Hang in there, and try not to get too disappointed. You are in the one true home of shiny white armor here, and there are more people than you imagine who are willing and ready to help. -

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Alex, but this armor is going to take quite a bit of work to bring it to Basic ANH TK or Shadowtrooper level. As for the Solo Hollywood premier lineage, I am kinda' doubting that. The paint job appears to have been done with a can of Krylon and a paint brush and doesn't have the "mottled" effect seen in the film. It is also not R1 armor. Upon closer inspection, the right shoulder bridge would need to be replaced or have some serious work done, as the patch job looks awful. Not sure of your size, but the biceps have an unusually large space on the sides and was built for someone with some pretty big guns and may have to be cut down. As mentioned, a Death Trooper could be an alternative https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_deathtrooper, If you do decide to purchase a new kit, I would highly recommend checking out this thread and asking lots of questions here on the FISD. We are here for ya' whichever way you go. -

You can put the ab/kidney strapping anywhere that it fits, as it's inside and will not affect approval at any level. They don't make flatter snaps, which is why I suggest mounting the snaps in heavy nylon. ABS is flat, which can prevent them from conforming to the curves completely and can result in an uneven or weak bond in some cases, I have a tutorial here that explains it a bit better. For rivets, just be sure the placement is correct before adding strapping. Note that the measurements are from the center of the rivet. Rivets on both kidney and ab should line up horizontally. -
Where to find a accurate ANH E-11 Blaster in Europe?
justjoseph63 replied to theshape.78's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
The blastpointprops is a fine looking weapon, but it's not a Doopydoos. There are a few differences that set it apart, like the corners on the Hengstler counter, the front of the folding stock, front sight, and no raised area where you would find the number cover plate. I'm not a fan of the wires, but EXCELLENT job on that scope weathering! Although Han and Luke used blasters with no Hengstler counter, power cylinders and a different scope, there is not a "Hero" version, as other TKs sported these as well. For level 3 Hero, they must adhere to the current CRL and have those items, but can have either the M-38 or M19 scope. Luke Han Stunts I'm glad to see that the bolt in the fan built photo has serial numbers, (always nice to see someone going the extra mile) but the originals had 15 numbers. When it comes to blasters, the sky is the limit. Some choose just a basic model for trooping, some do upgrades, and some go all out toward accuracy with scratch or resin builds. Will the general public notice? Not most of the time, but some of us are borderline OCD (myself included) and go nuts with the details. It's a sickness, lol. -
TK-41808 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status (RS) (949)
justjoseph63 replied to Ruffalo's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Wow, Philip, just WOW! One of the best looking EI submissions I've seen in quite a while, sir. I know you provided a link to those dynamite photos, but we are asking that you post them on this thread, (I suggest using imgur or the like), which would help us immensely as well as speed up your approval quite a bit. Besides, you need to show off that set of armor!
