I have tried a bunch of different systems... here are my personal opinions: 1. Aker amp (10 watt).- A powerful little amp that does change your voice a bit. Easy to use, and you can plug an MP3 player into it with TK chatter. 2. TrooperTalk- Bought an Iphone just to get this app. Never got it to work. 3. Trooper Amp (TRamp)- The remote button has 4 options for various TK responses, i.e. "Move along" etc., 2 buttons are for random responses on a "loop". You can change the responses, (fairly easy if you are familiar with computers) and they are EXCELLENT... It has an option to change your voice, but I can't seem to get it to work. Downsides- Expensive (over $200.00). Long wait time (I waited 10 weeks). A really nice setup with 2 types of mics included.

Digz Graavz First Build - ANH Stunt from AP

Before you glue your sniper knee on, can you post a quick pic of a view showing how the bottom is trimmed? -
You should be fine with the 15 mm cover strips, but for additional strength I would suggest putting cover strips on the inside as well. You can use scraps from your build as they don't have to be pretty. Be sure to save some scraps for the inside front of the calves as well. Since they get a workout from constantly opening/closing them while putting on your armor any reinforcement helps.

They are little disposable disinfectant/cleaner wipes that are made by Clorox. There may be a minute amount of bleach (although they don't smell like it) but if so not enough to damage plastic.
-
Off to a great start, Matt! One thing I would suggest is that if you have any hesitations, questions or problems to post up photos of the area in question before cutting or gluing. Blue tape will be a constant companion, so keep plenty on hand. We are here for ya', sir!

If it helps with mobility (bending your arm) you can increase the size of the scoops.

Centurion Anovos shim

If I could make one more suggestion, it would be to buy 3M SandBlaster silicone sandpaper. It is incredibly flexible, will not tear, can be used wet or dry, and seems to last forever, (I used one piece to do an entire TK build). It costs a bit more, but is well worth it in the long run. https://www.lowes.com/pd/3M-SandBlaster-Pro-4-Pack-4-5-in-W-x-7-in-L-150-Grit-Premium-Sandpaper/50191417 -
Trooping as a Vet with PTSD and issues in crowds.........

Really nice job, James, and thanks for sharing!! -
The diameter of mine is about 1 1/4 inches, (a little over 4 inches in circumference).

There are ways to get rid of the yellowing depending on how bad it is. If you post up some photos of the pieces we can help you try to remedy that.

Higher ankles are a definite plus. I have seen many a trooper with the boots poking out from underneath the bottom of the calf pieces.

The "scoops" in the biceps should be more or less the same size, but sometimes you have to sacrifice symmetry for comfort. Affect your aim? Can you post up a photo of the inside (scoop) of the forearms?

I keep a container of Clorox Handy-wipes and a clean dry cloth in my bin. I wipe the inside of each piece down and dry it before putting it in, so no musty smells.

Looking forward to it!! If it turns out as well as I'm sure it will, I will pin it in the Tutorials area. Thanks! -
Hi Scott! Unfortunately, you have a bit more searching to do. The screen used ones were Chelsea boots painted white, but as per the CRL for basic approval they must have a flat sole and a short(er) heel.

If you are up to the task, a detailed tutorial with lots of photos of your endeavor would not go unappreciated, especially by those who need it.. (Hint hint, lol). -

Good point, Eric! A tall baby-food jar works great. -

Hint: Cut the ABS scraps into really tiny pieces, and purchase full strength acetone from Lowe's or Home Depot. Add it a little at a time until you get the right consistency (think toothpaste). Also, be sure to do it in a GLASS jar with a lid. When making a large amount, be patient and mix frequently, as it sometimes takes a while for the acetone to dissolve the scraps. Keep the lid on while waiting, or it will solidify quickly. -

The rivets Anovos supplies are certainly passable at Centurion, Mark. As for shimming, level 2 (EI) only requires that the shim be flush (not overlapped). For level 3, the seem must not be present. As mentioned, ABS paste is really not that difficult to work with. If you (or anyone) needs some Anovos ABS scraps to insure the color matches I can probably round up some for you. The main key is not to add too much ABS paste to the seam... just enough to cover it. The more you add, the more you have to sand off. Here is a great thread (read down a bit) that may help: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30226-side-shims-on-abkidney-help/ -
Hi Shaun, and GREAT to hear that you are looking to go to Expert Infantry level! As Brien mentioned, you first have to get 501st status on the FISD (via the link he provided) which should only take a few days at most. After that, post up all your required info. and photos in the other thread and we can get started!

To be honest, what I would do is go with what you have and then check it after each troop or 2. Being flexible, the E-6000 should hold it well and prevent further damage, and like you mentioned it will be covered by your belt. Repairs and upkeep are pretty much a constant to armor. A crack here or there, strap replacement, scratches, etc. all come with the territory, which is why I check my armor after each event to stay on top of things. It's like the old saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".

Just as Q mentioned, as long as it's not seen you should be golden. If in doubt, attach it with blue tape, take a pic and post it up. -

MUCH better, and the thigh placement looks better as well. Should make it easier to move, and will get rid of that "clicking" sound I assume you have when you walk. -
