TM 2011 ANH Stunt Kit a.k.a My First TK
TK bondservnt replied to TKmAx's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
the UKG has very high standards for clearance, but I'd take a few moments to look At EIB and Centurion Costume Ref Libraries for the details on split rivets, cod closures, sidegaps, belt details and blaster details. good fun! -
it is different, that's sure!! I never knew that vulcans wore pink button up shirts?

Novus polish question.

never use car wax on armor! it can rust it! novus all the way! -
I've never seen a sight rail like that before... why is it so high in the back? also the tube looks like you followed the BBClub plans and made it too long as the cocking channel, and end cap are obviously 3/4" too long. and the end cap is supposed to sit flush against the rear sight. as well the end cap lock is supposed to sit flush against the end cap with the tab overhanging the end cap. otherwise it's a fairly nice job.

I make ESB style blasters with 3 different versions. greeblie stunt, m19 style or m38 style, london prop store version. look in my signature and you'll see examples in photos. PM me for details.

Let's finalize this! Counter wires where do they attach?

as you can see there are different variations of the mounting points on the photos shown from the advanced weapons section. it's a judgement call really~~!! all the photos shown are actual star wars props... so I figure that sells the concept pretty well. if you look closely you'll see them connected in series with 5 loops per side. have fun! -
how could we miss this important day! hope it was fun!

E11 power cylinder templates wanted
TK bondservnt replied to sskunky's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
this work?? I cut the caps with a dremel a pair of pliars using the cutting wheel. there is a notch on the edge of the cap that the wheel fit's into and it takes about 10 minutes to cut 4 caps drilling them out for the screws in front is very tough to do. I usually order a pair from sean at 35$ it's not a bad deal for saving the headache! -
The cost is fairly reasonable for a model, but the aspects of accuracy are missing from almost all the placement of parts. the rear is wrong, the length is short in front, and the overall appearance is like it follows the dimensions of the hasbro. it looks like he purchased only the handle, folding stock and scope/ hengstler combination from doopy do, and then just mocked up his end cap, and other items.
-
actually it's bonded to a steel template. I have seen other machinist's making tubes, but none of them have the end cap lug diameter correct. the tube should have a 42mm cap on the end, for the rear lock cap.
-
I purchased these a long time ago. many errors on it. the 1/2" top front hole is not listed, the folding stock swivel mount is too far back, the breech is the wrong shape. ect. ect. ect. many small errors. also it lists the overall diameter at 38.1mm and that's ok for the front parts of the tube, but he does not list the end cap dimension at 42mm like it should. don't buy these plans! I did and I regret it. live and learn!

you can clearly see that the PS3 renders are different from the renders with the lightsaber hanging in the air.

AP armor arrived today... so shiny!
TK bondservnt replied to niugnep's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I'm making 3 armors just like that. such fun! it's really helpful if you get a handheld belt sander. eats through plastic like butter and sands edges quickly and sharply! -
those screencaps show a completely different paint scheme than the felucian renders.
-
you can clearly see that these screencaps have a different paint scheme than these clearly the ps3 version is different from these... and now we can see why there is a variation of scratch pattern, color and placement of the stripe on the helmet. the color is much darker, and the scratches are different.

I use grey waste pipe from lowes. it's 40mm.

this hobby is awesome. set for fun! TKC helmet lines! woo hoo!
-
take the red lines off the more forward view? larger? is that from the felucian renders? PC version? PS3 version? here's my own suggestion on how to widen my line, and put more of the edges in, as I layer on the lighter colors. I've also added some grey paint where I'll be putting chips. ------
-
I used the render labeled "correct" as listed in the photo section for the TKC. I used the scratch pattern from the felucia renders with the lightsabre. I didn't use the menu or "lobby" screencaps that paul lists. if the pre visual game render is not correct... then bloody why do we have it listed as a paint reference? and how can this version be labeled "incorrect" when I follow it?
-
when I look at the mic tip line matchup it looks like the line runs between the vocoder and the tip edge. see the new photo I've added to try to replicate the shadow, and angle of the first screen cap. my mic tip line ends inside the well. the face front render is the game pre vis render. (notice how there is no angle at the eye line?) as you can see from this photo the line ends inside the well of the hovie, as I believe it should? right paul? I don't personally agree with mason's angle concept at the eye line. and I'll be working to show more paint layering and adjustments. here's a shot showing the terminate for the front line in your screencaps paul, is that all from the same console version? or are we mixing and matching different console renders for our refs...?? some of the screencaps show no drop boxes, while others seem to show white ones.. lot's of details seem to have changed on different consoles. when I look at the felucia caps for instance, it's almost like we're looking at a different model. when I look at the scratch pattern and the width of the line and it's angle from the screen caps it clearly shows a vertical line. the pre visual game render even has no abdomen buttons, only the side panel. but you can clearly see the grey sides end on the drop boxes on the "correct" render. this render is what is shown on the CRL in the images section, and the angle at the eye line looks completely incorrect in my opinion. ------ thanks to everyone for their input. notice from this screencap the line is vertical. Unlike the suggested angle. -------- -------
