  1. Pretty clean there. Might have to do another of these with your kit. What are you gonna do about the hengstler counter?😉
  2. Not trying to shirk your question, but check out the 501st.com's Costume Reference area: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL That has all the requirements for all the levels. Good luck!
  3. So cool. Yeah it really does look better lol. Can't wait to see more. You're making it look so easy
  4. No, mines a Hasbro conversion kit so I don't have lots of pieces you'd get with a pipe completion set, not to mention it's all 40mm wide. I'd love to compensate you somehow for a front sight if you were going to print one anyways. Yeah, I was gonna replace it with the one on my Hasbro since that kinda turned into a pipe hybrid (if I even finish it). I'll pm you. Also wondering if your butt cap is tapered out towards the user like it should? Looks like it does, but wasn't sure
  5. Yeah it's a screencap for their TD example so... Why do people try to cheat when it's not even hard to build one authentic-style?
  6. You've got all the facy high tech tools! That's the way to go. I might have to ask for a 83% front sight/butterfly guard 😉
  7. Looks great so far. I need to redo my ears, they look like your before pic lol. I bet that belt sander rules! I only recently got a Dremel, I was filing by hand before. Keep going!
  8. First thought is stereo system power/volume knobs. Might be able to find old analog but digital would probably be more compact. You want that click for on/off like a radio, not just turn the dial to 0, right?
  9. I got one. My ATA is next he said and it's around my bday so I'm stoked to have another TK on the way for Xmas😅
  10. Aw, that sucks! Save $300 today!
  11. I read "I pulled the trigger" about 50 times (I think I said it too) 😋 and a few "my wife finally let me"s 😄 Not making fun either, it's just weird to have commercial armor for the first time. It's true tho, $650 for everything is still real nice considering the alternatives
  12. There's also "Affordable Trooper Armor" (ATA). Usually has lids on hand
  13. Sweet! I love Prime. Thanks for sharing
  14. it sounds a little better if you raise your voice. It must be for cons
  15. Really does sound like a nice line of products. I want that filler you mentioned. Nice and thick, and sandable in 20 seconds isn't bad either. I don't see prices which might be for a reason lol. Pricey?
  16. Here ya go!http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag209/charlesnarles/Mobile%20Uploads/th_trim.2CFC8064-68A8-4A91-8A9F-659A27113847_zpsxvcx1v3d.mp4 I tried to show how covering parts and changing the angle affects the tone, all Doppler-style. The scope will be closed, and the d ring covers the speaker almost entirely, so most of the noise will actually come out the muzzle. It's a pretty decent volume too. Not super loud but enough for a con probably. And then just google video search "Disney stormtrooper voice change mask" and there's a YouTube clip of that one in action (save for the voice changer, which only clicks afterwards but is much louder than I expected)
  17. Again, I'm more than willing to get them for anyone who needs them, at cost. Shoot me a pm and you'll be set 😋
  18. (I have a FS: thread for these.....) 😎
  19. Yeah I'll eat my kit whole if it comes in October. 😛 (Some people say contact lenses are a good solution if you have them. Others install prescription sunglass lenses lol)
  20. Very cool, that's the whole point of this. Quite a display piece his old suit would make too, complete with natural weathering. Good on ya!
  21. Colloquially we call them "mic tips" FYI. First push the middle of the mesh in (concave), then pull it out, flip it over and glue it in with the mesh pushed out (convex). Shouldn't need a whole lot of super glue since there's lots of surface area
  22. Okay, then the Disney is indeed scaled down in a lot of areas, but the scope and other parts seem close to original. I do need an 80% scale nozzle!
  23. Not to say the quality is comparable, but the $25 Disney TK mask has a PTT button and the static burst after speech PLUS 15 randomized but clean ANH chatter files. Comes with a 1 watt speaker and about 6 inches of wire between everything, but it's easily modable for the electronic-savvy: ----------
