  1. Oh boy. I have to pay for my ATA armor kit soon, but dang, $350... I'd have to pay $120 to see it at C7 anyhow (can't go alone)... It has 11 dimples on the left arm, and 12 on the right. Isn't that indicative of TM? Too bad I'm a 6'4" ectomorphic freak, but I'll make it work, designers. -- I read the fine print and it says you MAY INDEED CANCEL PREORDERS FOR FULL REFUND any time before it ships. That makes it worth reserving a spot at least until we see it up close! I feel like a kid again
  2. I made a howto thread on modding this thing with some more pictures: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30848-howto-mod-the-new-disney-e-11/#entry395931
  3. Where can you get them shipped cheaper? I've tried UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL...
  4. Unfortunately I can't get the shipping lower than $55 for one shipped in the US (or two if you unbox them), and that's without any extra profit on my end at all. 😦
  5. I've read that it has some nasty seams along the mag receiver and that the dimensions are off in general
  6. I couldn't resist cracking it open. This is a godsend for those looking to put electronics in tight spaces AND have the stun mode. Somebody please put these guts into a sterling or at least a resin pipe build!
  7. They're $25 at Downtown Disney. I saw a few of the new-old ones with the old DL-44 board. I'd highly recommend the new one too. [[Only saw a few on the shelves but if people are interested in buying one from me (I'll make a FS: thread too) then shoot me a PM]] Looks like lots of the doopydoo kit fits without too much of a fuss to complete the ANH look. I can't wait to paint this friggin thing.
  8. Compared to my childhood Hasbro <3 It even has fire select (on the hengstler counter) endearingly in Arubesh "blast" or "stun":
  9. Not sure how close it is yet but it's way closer! And!! It has a stun setting! Tell me what's wring with it, I'll tell you how well my doopydoo's kit fits on it. I'm excited to find this. Good single accurate blaster and stun fire sound effects too! All I can notice is no power cylinders and the side t tracks are missing while the one that should be missing is there. Pretty decent out of the box!
  10. Darth Aloha has the tutorial, but his is for a scuff. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19398-howto-use-novus-plastic-polish-12-and-3-ah-ah-ah-i-love-counting/ Anyone had success removing cuts with Novus or another product/technique? Thanks all
  11. Couldn't find 9/64" (3.5mm). They're a good amount bigger than the ones from my ATA kit. Should I keep looking for the smaller ones? ATA on left, 6/32" on right:
  12. I bet if you flattened off the t tracks a little it'd look even closer
  13. Looks nice! Fyi I riveted my brow lower than I wanted, so I trimmed the forehead away to fix it. This left me with weird temple traps that were not as tall as they should be. Not sure if that affects EIB/centurion, but the Moral: temporarily secure it first and reassemble it if you're not 100% happy with it, instead of cutting anything like I did.
  14. Next step is to put on the doopydoo, but the t-tracks will cover the only holes thru which the light can be seen... Short of turning it into a pipe barrel, what can I do to fix this? I guess I can just shave off the bottom left track (the one that doesn't belong) and hand-drill the row of holes and ream them out to the right size. Anyone had success doing this?
  15. My stock Echo setup fits snugly in my ATA. Also adds some nice weight which gives a good feel. I'd recommend a fan of some sort, you'll have room
  16. I can only guess that around when that band Gnarls Barkley (Ceelo Green and Danger Mouse...[?]) became a thing (yep, 2004-present) I was in high school and this really tall and strong punker named Danny ("the Giant") apparently thought I looked like a "Charles" (not my name at all, it's Scott) My theory is that I admittedly looked like Charlie from the Chocolate Factory. After a while it grew to "Charles Gnarles". Never written, I could only assume its spelling and I never found out what he meant by any of it, but it became this running joke between me and this kid I didn't even really know or hang out with lol. I think it was while naming my Playstation Network account I had only enough characters for "charlesnarles". Feel free to add me on PSN btw, just say you're from here
  17. C7 for Epidode 7... I get it! I'll be there Saturday hopefully, but no armor means I'm torn between me and the gf going in TK buckets and civvies or we could do a jedi and bounty hunter pair. 1st world problems, right? It'll be my first C so I'm pretty excited. Should I expect Mark Hamill to sign my ANH hilt? Because I do.
  18. Didn't see a thread already. I'm considering going mostly because I know I'd never forgive myself for missing it, seeing as I live 20 min from it. It'd be my first C and I'd be in my jedi costume (don't shoot) I know lots are probably going in their approved Imperial costumes, but who else isn't approved yet and still plans to go? Not really sure what to expect... what does one do there? (lol sorry for the silly question)
  19. Not sure about quality yet, good reviews tho. I'll see first-hand soon. Anyone know about these? ------------
  20. Lots of different colors mean different things at different points in SW history. Orange, white and black are [some of] the OT (canon) Imperial Navy ranks and mean what they've said above. There's also all kinds of EU guys in armor or cloth uniforms with pauldrons, most likely picked for aesthetic reasons by the artist(s) vs the individual soldiers' rank. Lucas would hate to see anyone but sandies wearing them but who cares, right?
  21. What do you guys think? I can't see any differences from TKboots other than the front pull loop, elastic height, and a big ugly seam down the front... And it's $65 so I'll just get some from folks in the 501st instead! -----------
  22. "Green stuff" is good for small areas, and cheesecloth + some kinda sealant (black or painted black after) is popular for giving rigidity and a nice-looking inside finishing
  23. Pathetic in the noon-time CA sun!... Barely visible in the shade in the day outside... Not so bad inside without much other lighting. Time to doop it up!
