Sly11 replied to sharkbait's topic in Request Centurion Status
OK Rebecca, I am having troubles with Photobucket at the moment so hope this reference image works, but we will need you to remove all the return edge from the wrist end of the fore arms. You still have some to take out where the dimples run on the back of the fore arm. There shouldn't be any left at that end at all. Forearm Armor For 501st approval: Forearms are fully closed. For level two certification (if applicable): For level three certification (if applicable): No return edge on the inside of the front of the forearm is allowed Post up a new photo when done and i can post up your review -

TK-29118 Requesting ESB Centurion Status [AM2.0/RT-Mod] [284]
Sly11 replied to sharkbait's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hi Rebecca A D ring on the rear of your blaster is a requirement for your application with the type of E11 you have chosen. Please add one and post up a new photo E-11 Blaster (ESB) For 501st approval: Based on a real or replica Sterling sub-machine gun, scratch-built, or a modified commercial toy Stormtrooper blaster. For level two certification (if applicable): Folding stock (does not need to function). No ammo counter shall be present. D-ring mounted on the rear. Sterling based blasters have the correct M-38 or M-19 style scope. The M-19 scope is preferred. No power cylinders on the magazine housing. Scratch-built, resin cast, Hyperfirm rubber cast blasters shall have a total of 6 T-tracks on blaster (leaving the lowest row on the magazine housing side uncovered). If using the Hasbro E11 toy blaster, it is modified to have the correct number of T-tracks (6 total), with a lower row of open vent holes on the magazine housing side. This is accomplished by covering the pre-existing rows of holes with T-tracks, then grinding off the lower integrated T-track on the magazine housing side, and drilling a new row of holes in its place. For level three certification (if applicable): Hasbro blasters are not allowed, even conversions. -

Hey Michael, thank you for your Centurion application, and thanks for the re alignment of parts and the Thermal det screws, excellent work. Well done CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Your armor displays all the elements required for Level 3. On behalf of Ukswrath and myself congratulations and welcome to Centurion!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Maybe just shorten those top straps of the shoulder bells so they touch the bridges and you will look perfect. Continue to make the Legion proud Centurion. -
TK-12513 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [RS} [651]
Sly11 replied to Coloursergeant's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Jon, thank you for your application, lets see what we got!! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. and your armor represents all elements as required for Level 2 CRL,, with that said, Congratulations and welcome to Expert Infantry!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by us and your fellow troopers. Suggestions made here are to improve the overall look of your armor . If these suggestions would effect an application they will be mentioned in the above or below sections. Another very nice set of RS armour and another great build, never get tired of reviewing these, and I'm glad to say there is not much to suggest in this section. You can probably close the gap between the chest and shoulder bells a touchby simply rotating them forward. Moving the top straps to the bells forward can also help make them sit closer. The other fine tune point would be to drop your left thigh and balance the gap between the tops and the cod. Reference image Centurion Suggestions: In this area we try to prepare you for Centurion. Any needed corrections will be posted here. Only two areas to address and place you in the best possible position for a successful Centurion application so here they are.. As per the CRL For level three certification (if applicable): Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box.We think you just need to secure these from behind the belt with Velcro or a dab of glue so they cant slip on the canvas belt Reference image The second point is the side shims. This will take a bit more work, but the end results we have seen by others in the past, make the effort well worth it. In the below image rthey look to be mounted behind the kidney plate, where they will need to be flush with it, the same way a but joint is made with a cover strip on the inside. The seam then needs to be filled with ABS paste, sanded and polished so as to make the entire part look as one piece. The CRL states For level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor.A single visible seam line is present. The seam line refered to is the line between the Ab and Kidney, and of coarse needs to be replicated on the opposite side as well. There are loads of build threads and a few tutorials on FISD that go through the process of ABS paste There you go Jon, congratulations on a great EI review and award, see you again soon in centurion -

Hey Mark, not really much to add, expcept maybe keep an eye on your under suit it is pretty bunched up at the elbow on both arms. Also could you please add a photo of the other side of your Thermal det so we can see the screws and bracket positioning clearly. Thanks and don't forget to update your photos without the decal on the shoulder bell. Maybe just the front on and action shots will do. Cheers

The Absolute Best Way to Fix a Cracked Yoke?

It seems the yolk crack is becoming common, like cracking the shoulder bridges on an OT TK, almost the same method with a backing piece and ABS paste. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

TK-41975 requesting ANH Stunt EIB status (RS Propmasters)
Sly11 replied to lagces's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi again Luis It apperas that your sniper plate is riveted on, unfortunately, this is not allowed at EIB level, so we kindly request that you renove them and make some ABS paste to neatly fill the holes, take some new photos and post them up when your done. CRL For level two certification (if applicable): Sniper knee plate must be aligned with the ridges on the shin. Sniper knee plate must not have visible rivets or fasteners attaching it to the shin. -

Hey Sarah, thank you for your Centurion application. Let's get started. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All submission photos are present and your armor meets all the Centurion requirements. Ukswrath and myself would like to congratulate and welcome you to the Centurion level. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we make suggestions mentioned by your fellow troopers, or ourselves. . Our only suggestion would be to maybe try and even up those shoulder bridges, one is mounted higher on the chest and the difference is quite noticeable from behind. Congratulations again, on achieving this award -

TK42542 requesting ANH Stunt EIB status (RT-Mod) [647]
Sly11 replied to andylah's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hey Andy!!, thanks for your application, good to see another Aussie going for EIB, lets take a look!! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome to EI rank! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a couple areas we'd like to mention. First off, you look great, very nice build but as you are most probably aware, with the overlap method of TK assembly EI is as far as it is allowable for ANH and ESB, so if you intend to aim for Centurion, and I say why not, you would need to pull the limbs apart and reassemble using the but joint method. Example from Level 3 CRL section Forearms For 501st approval: Forearms are fully closed. For level two certification (if applicable): For level three certification (if applicable): No return edge on the inside of the front of the forearm is allowed. Forearms must be constructed using the butt joint and cover strip method. Overlap construction is not allowed. We do have a few other minor adjustments you can make to get you looking the best you can so lets take a look at those. Shoulder Bells: The top of the bells should virtually be touching the plastic shoulder bridge. I do realise you are broad across the shoulders but if you shorten the elastic straps that run from the top of the bell to the elastic under the plastic bridges, they will still come in some. The bells can also be rotated forward to reduce the gap between the chest plate. Reference Image Next up we have a slight overlap of the back plate over the Kidney plate. You have two options to remedy this. 1. shorten the white elastic straps that join the chest to back plate ( the straps under the shoulder bridges), this allow the plate to sit a touch higher and rest on top of the return edge of the kidney plate. 2. wear the ab and kidney plate slightly lower, achieving the same outcome. Reference image Hand Plates: I think a little more adhesive under them so they sit flat against the rubber glove will look much tidier, and avid the risk of ripping one off the glove. Drop box positioning: These need to be aligned with the ends of the plastic ammo belt and they should be almost touching the underside of the belt. I use Velcro to keep mine in place but a small dab of glue can also stop them from moving inward. Reference Image And lastly, just for the finishing accuracy touch.....you could change the screws on the Thermal Det to the flay blade variety, and paint them black, the icing on the cake. Reference image Centurion Suggestions: Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. This is also where we try and get you in the best possible position for a successful Centurion application. Aside from the assembly of the limbs, we can only see two things that need to be changed here. It appears that the Ab button plates are part of the ab itself and not separate pieces cut out and glued to the Ab. Please see the reference image below yours to understand how this should look. Reference image Last of all is the rear sight of the E11. This little piece is misleading in its looks and quite a few have installed it facing in the opposite direction. If you cant get it off, you can always try and modify it as Justjoseph did for his. He simply filled in the serated edges with model putty, and filed a set of groves in the other end, and repainted it. Reference image Andy, you have done an outstanding job with your armour, and I know we have discussed this off line, but I really think you should consider taking the next step towards Centurion. If you can separate those limb parts and but join them, follow the CRL and photo reference guide, there is certainly every chance in the world you can make that level 3. You have already taken steps in accuracy regarding the rivets, rubber gloves and latex hand guards, so why not go for it. We are here to help you get there brother. Congratulations once again and welcome to Expert infantry -
Hey Ken welcome to your EI review, we are here at last so lets get into it!! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for level 2. Welcome to Expert Infantry trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. Only a few things to mention here and these are strapping adjustments and all very simple. Your shoulder bells do need to come in at the top, so the bell virtually touches the plastic shoulder bridge. The but gap between the side of the bell and the chest plate can also be reduced First try shortening that top strap, but also if you relocate that strap closer to the front rather than have it right in the center of the main straps that join your chest to back, you will find those gaps start to close up. I can see that you are broad across the shoulders but you should be able to get those bells closer to the correct position. Reference Image The next one is to have a look at the strap on your left side, Back to kidney plate. The gap we can see in the below image could be caused due to you wearing your blaster in the holster, but just make sure the elastic strap is the same length as the opposite side. If not, shorten it up so the plates align evenly across the back Moving on to the side photos, we see that your Ab plate is slipping out of alignment with the kidney plate. This may only occur when raising your arms straight out, so as an option when taking some new photos for Centurion, maybe try bringing your arms forward rather than straight out and see if that alleviates the slip. Centurion Suggestions: Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. This is also where we try and get you in the best possible position for a successful Centurion application. The main thing that jumps out will be to close up those side gaps on both sides of your Ab to Kidney plate, and to really focus on the overall alignment of armour. Maybe coach who ever is taking your photos, on what they need to look for so you can look your absolute best. We are glad you sorted out the Photobucket issues and have been able to post up the requested images. Overall you look awesome, just take a little time going through the level 3 CRL and the photo check list, make your adjustments and we shall see you in Centurion soon. Congratulations Ken, you did it brother
