  1. Probably with modifications. The old EFX ANH was approvable with about 15 minutes of work.
  2. OK, and I posted such in the staff area...
  3. I think we should be. At the least, the SideShow toy can be an EIB/Centurion option for an accessory, and fan made like my old one perhaps as base? I'll have to chat with the LMO/DL, but it may be that it's all based on the figure and then it's just a matter of detail. The Sideshow is an ANH Stunt but yeah with 4 rivets. It is certainly fabric. I would say the only difference between and ANH Stunt and this trooper is the pack.
  4. I'll take more pix of the back then. All of my Sideshow figures are now out of the box - I'm putting my FO TK squad together now. I know it's a hit to resale, but having them sit in a box unused and unlooked at is not why I bought them. The FO TK's are not as posable I find, or I'm doing something wrong. I'll write a report on them next. This TK however is really easy to pose and get it to do what I want. The pack attaches with a magnet so is simple enough, and even the holster strap is magnetic to make that easy. If you can find one used, you could save some $$ and have a great figure still.
  5. I finally opened mine after nearly a year in my garage. I got the SpaceTrooper which you can find here: http://www.sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/star-wars-spacetrooper-hot-toys-902381/ This is an ANH TK plus the space pack and are only ever seen in the scene where the Falcon is pulled in to the Death Star. I was surprised at the level of detail on this action figure, if I can call it that. It's more of a miniature replica. The belt is fabric and has all the right stitching details. The thermal detonator is a perfect replica of what we use. I thought the armor would be glued on or something, but there are actual Velcro straps in all the right places to connect the biceps. You can look at the photos on the website, but they don't do it justice. This little action figure is more faithful to the costumes than what a lot of 501st people wear. They are not cheap, but they are accurate. I'm pretty happy with mine. What do others think?
  6. Kalani's solution sounds pretty good. If you are handy modifying a bucket, most fan-sculpts (AP, ATA, etc.) can be made to be bigger or smaller in how you trim/assemble them. I have multiple ATA helmets, and some I can get my glasses in on, and some not, depending on who built it. Having a set of lenses in the bucket seems a no-brainer to me.
  7. It's always good for a man to have an office. OK, for people more hands on, a man cave is better and they have tools and stuff, like a garage or a shop. Alas, I'm not that kind of dude, having been a coder or managing coders for 20 years. But, I finally have my own, true office that I don't have to share. I can actually display all my stuff that my wife doesn't like. Soon, I will have helmet stands for the 4 key buckets I own. Soon, I will have a way to display all the SideShow EP7 figures that have been in storage, along with all my Robotech stuff. First things first though, no office is complete without office humor. And what TK doesn't have a break room.
  8. Pretty amazing - great job Brian!
  9. Shawn is phenomenal. If he's connected to this project is should be great. I'm keenly interested in seeing a finished one.
  10. Holy smokes - these look GREAT!
  11. Personally, I agree with Dennis. Strike the pose, be happy
  12. Not sure you should be throwing any stones given the last few reports on your service Paul. Let's keep this on topic...
  13. +1 on trooper1 Ftw...
  14. Nice suit! Bondo will crack, is there a silicone sealant you can use?
  15. PM inbound...
  16. I thought about this Well, you could be right. Ever get a chance to see Star Wars on the big screen recently? I'm not talking the 100" screen you have at home with a projector, I mean at a theater. Honestly, even today I'm so wrapped up in the movie I just see stormtroopers and am focusing on the movie more than cover strips. IOW, what may seem galling to me on a still 12" away from my eyes on a computer monitor may be a totally different impression watching the film. So, I'm just going to hold off making any more judgments either way until I see the movie - in the theater - and the costumes in person.
  17. Wow, great photos. Keep up the excellent work
  18. +1 for flight gloves. Not as accurate as rubber ones, but for 90% of the troops they will be just fine, and far more comfortable.
  19. Actually not a bad format suggestion. Thanks for making it FWIW, staff was approached by a 501st member and we provided guidance and a listening ear. It is entirely up to the member to decide if they want to post, our job is just to ensure the feedback is objective and accurate. As you note, our job is to be unbiased.
  20. The feedback regarding PM's is valid and Christine is redacting her original post. Mark, please refrain from making accusations on speculation. Any FISD member has the right to post bad experiences with a vendor as long as they are objective. If you want to be "disappointed", then you can chat up me and Tim as it was our call in the end. Keep the discussion on target folks.
  21. Locked. She can create a new one when the time comes.
  22. Eric - can I suggest we break those posts off to a different topic? it would keep things cleaner...
