  1. Ditto what Chris said - the FL garrison is one of the largest in the Legion and I'd be surprised if there weren't regular activities. You should ask your GML or FISD attache for sure, or the local squad leader (FL garrison is big on squads). Alas also as Chris noted, it's a real shame that many garrisons lock so much away from the public boards. I've been there too (though it's been 10+ years), but just keep posting on your local boards and people will help out that way.
  2. My main suggestion is to *not* glue the backs of the thighs, forearms, or biceps until you have trooped once or twice and are confident that they are trimmed where you want them. Too many times - especially on the thighs - I have had applicants fully glue them after test fittings/walking around the house, only to find that they need further trimming to look correct, or in my first case, were over-trimmed and needed to be let out a bit. Thighs are the #1 rework item I've asked people to fix as a GML. They are very hard to get right the first go.
  3. No worries, we really should pin these somewhere.
  4. Billy's graphics are awesome! I think you have a double of the back and are missing the front though?
  5. Can't wait to see more pix!
  6. FYI, I'm pinning this as the de facto tutorial for this helmet. Great work!
  7. It would be great to see a post that shows them side by side somewhere, with the differences.
  8. The magnets are a good idea.
  9. OK, maybe this is only for us in the US, but I wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. We celebrate a time of coming together, sharing, and also that despite all that can go wrong, what is truly important in life. Loving family and friends, and the selfless active of giving. You may or may not be spiritual, but it is written that the three greatest virtues are faith, hope, and love (charity), and of these the greatest is love. May love of every kind fill your day today, wherever you are, and no matter what you do. Not everyone who went to bed last night woke up today, so cherish life. Love out to all my 501st & FISD family!
  10. Really? Wow! Congrats out to him - I didn't know. Blessings to him and Brooke!
  11. He is the only one, and may be away on holiday. How long has it been since he answered?
  12. I agree with Brian. I have a fan-made vest and paid a lot more than ANOVOS. With ANOVOS, presuming the quality is good, the price seems good too. I'd order one if I didn't already have one.
  13. Well, the OT TK's can be used as a guide. Took longer, but people seem happy that have them.
  14. For myself, the TK is like an X-Wing pilot - always better the more of them you have. I dislike being the only TK, or one of only two TK's, at an event. If I want to be exclusive I do something else, like wear a space pack, or rock the ESB or Hero look.
  15. Wow - looking great! Love seeing these brought to life
  16. Yeah, the waiting seems forever, but a month is actually pretty good.
  17. I guess it depends on how many details we need. At the least you can have a full body image and when you mouse-over a part, a pop-up will show the detailed shot we already have and then the text. No new images required, but will take either the use of an image map (old school, but no coding) or a little JavaScript code. I think we should do one as a template and then see how it goes. Or, we can just do those details that are hardest for people to interpret.
  18. My crystal ball then is you never cut it. There is zero advantage really for you.
  19. I think you are off to a good start. How tall are you? I really advise against cutting the cod as it's too easy then to get "happy trooper" syndrome and they weren't cut in the movie. I'm 6' and even shorter people almost never cut the cod.
  20. I can't wait either. I'm tired of being the only FOTK, or one of only 2 FOTK's, at troops.
  21. We tried visual CRLs and there are pros and cons. If you try to put every little detail on them they get confusing. Ideally you'd have the CRL photo and as you moused over a part it would show the detail, and we can include text as well. Yes, it would take time to do, but even if each took 2 hours, and someone did one once per month, we'd have 12 done at the end of the year. We had a huge team to actually get the CRL pictures done - I think at one point we had like 6-8 people on photoshop duty. The detachment is even bigger now, I'd think with some volunteers we could get it done, once one person makes the first template.
  22. Nice! Now to get your double EI
  23. Wow Michael, one thing is for sure your work is masterful. Simply amazing.
  24. How many total now? Maybe we should put up a poll to make it easier to track...?
