Not yet. The whole thing is being re-done. I hope to get movement on this by end of month.

The Last Jedi (TLJ) Stormtroopers - a first look
Daetrin replied to tkrestonva's topic in TLJ Stormtrooper
Man, Jimmy you be on point! -
Well, it looks like getting spare parts for extra biceps will become common. They are doing to us what they did to the clones.
-
Fair enough, updated.
-
Do you have a good picture of this? I want to ensure I have it right before updating the wording.

FYI I'm making the shim update in about 10 minutes. As Tony points out, there are *tons* of details we don't put in the regular CRLs. I'll probably cull some out unless they are needed at L2/L3. We are bending over backwards a bit because we want to ensure that people are not taking an ANH kit and trying to cut corners. I mean they could, but we are really steering them towards getting an R1 kit from the get go. Kinda like you could take an ANH kit and go ROTJ but it's a lot of work & modification (ask our original CRL models!), but you could also just get a CFO...

The Official 2017 What is a Heavy Weapons Trooper Thread
Daetrin replied to Daetrin's topic in Heavy Weapons Trooper
Update: recommendations sent to LMO. Will keep you posted on his reply. -
OK, so now it's back to the LMO to get the photos posted and approved.
-
OK, I'm adding... L3: Inside each tear will be a raised area that is grey, with the black lines being engraved, not painted. L3: Frown is recessed to the proper depth compared to ANH.

The Official 2017 What is a Heavy Weapons Trooper Thread
Daetrin replied to Daetrin's topic in Heavy Weapons Trooper
Where we are at is that we just did a major forum upgrade, completed first draft of the R1 CRL, and got out a newsletter. Whew! I'm packed tomorrow but should have time Tuesday to push this further. -
Only if there is a db backup. Locitus may know something I don't though...

Ooooh! Ooooh! Man, this is one costume that is hard to get right and you are off on a great first step. Usually the weathering is too abrupt, but you are ROCKING IT! Do try to go Centurion on this - we have so few TKC Centurions and it would be great to replace me as the CRL model. Mine was the best of the best at the time, but people can do so much better nowadays.

Have you tried using a regular computer, e.g. a desktop or laptop? I know it sounds heretical to you young folk, but it is far easier to work with a full size keyboard/mouse driving double 22" monitors on an actual computer than a phone. Just saying...

Jeff's ANH Stunt Armor Build Thread (High Anxiety Edition)
Daetrin replied to Wozza's topic in ANH Build Threads
Just remember that you can always get replacement parts. You can also cut material away, adding it back in is hard. You will have to get up being a perfectionist. After a bunch of troops, things will shift and move and you'll want to make adjustments anyway. Good luck though - I suck and building and somehow made it work too. -
Wow, excellent work! As you can see, it's far, far easier to go Centurion from the start than afterwards, so it's great to see you hitting it on the get go.

Yes. You can put a shim on the back and put a cover strip on top of that. Actually I disagree with Randy - my first TK I trooped exclusively with Velcro thighs and never had a problem. Even marched in the Rose Parade with them. If they are splitting it simply means that you have them too tight it all. When you do switch out from Velcro to glue though, you have to leave a little more room as the Velcro takes up space and also has a little give. I made the mistake of taking off my Velcro and gluing directly, and then found my thighs were too tight and had to hunt for new ones. Ouch!

Using Dropbox instead of Photobucket
Daetrin replied to MechaPumpkin's topic in Forum Help & Support
I've had success using images on my OneDrive too. OneDrive & Dropbox are both excellent. -
FYI, I may have started it all, but it was the tireless and unrelenting effort of a whole team of people who helped build and grow this site. Everyone who has ever been on staff is owed the same gratitude.

11 years ago today, this forum was cranked up for the first time and users registered and logged in. At the time I wasn't even sure if I'd get 10 people to sign off on the charter, but I figured if I could help at least a few troopers avoid the mistakes and mis-information that were common at the time, I'd be OK. It's been a fun ride - here's to 11 more!

Well, the inbox limit will not change. You are better off saving them via PDF, etc. than relying on the inbox size increasing. Even us staff have to continually prune our inboxes and archive off old items that we need to retain Think of it like a sweep & keep at work.

It's my #1 item to fix. Sigh...

It's still there, it's just at the top of the forums. Nothing was deleted at all. What happened is that "Recruits" was essentially renamed to "Welcome to the 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment" and moved to the top of the boards. All the content is still there, though I created a subforum per AC's request called "501st and Detachment Access Requests", and put a few topics in there. What were you expecting to see that you can't find? I can help
