Thanks Tom. That's probably one of the best posts I've ever seen a maker provide with regards to their philosophy and design methodology. Not only is it always preferred to have the person doing the actual work speak to it, but also the objectivity provided as to "here is why" without the least equivocation or obfuscation whatsoever. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the ranks.

My Whoops! Par_ was a big contributor to the R1 CRL, and I was remiss in leaving him out. He's added in now. Thanks Reese!

Actually, that's a good suggestion wrt to "me too" posts. Even though yeah, they don't mean a lot, some people "game" it by posting to new threads with things like "great idea" or "me too", or "welcome to FISD". Even if we did that though, they'd just game it to have a longer comment. Besides, sometimes a post of "good point" during a conversation is a valid post. In the end they are what they are and show what they are intended - activity levels. The fact that a few try to "game" the system doesn't mean the feature - used by every forum out there - doesn't work well for the other 97% of members.

Most of the history of FISD taking on what should have been MEPD's costumes for deployed troopers stemmed from the staunch old guard at MEPD to keep it focused on ANH sandtroopers ONLY, e.g. 1 costume. So we (FISD) stepped up and took them on. However as ever in the Legion things evolved. Can you believe back in 2006 there were many in the Legion who were against the very concept of having a TK detachment as the Legion already "had it covered" in the garrisons? The guidance that should have been in place years ago is now being resurrected. MEPD's leadership is changed, and the membership there has changed, and they are embracing their true roots as the place for "dirty TKs". They are now doing: 1. Special Edition (ROTJ based) OT standtroopers 2. Battlefront II Heavy Weapons Trooper 3. Battlefront II Sullest/Magma Trooper 4. Jeddha Trooper from Rogue one (dirty boy!) What is referred to the Crystal Patrol that is only ever seen in the book. It's not even clear if this costume will ever have its own CRL, as it is essentially the same costume as the deployed R1 TK (aka Jeddha Trooper) with a different pack, so they will probably just have both costumes in one CRL with two pack options. There was a discussion that Phasma would go over to SpecOps as she is not a "clean white TK", but the feedback was that the Phasmas prefer to stay here on FISD, so that is where they will remain until such time as the costume holders decide otherwise. Such is not the case with new costumes entering the Legion where we'll hold the line more closely to stick to clean TK's here on FISD, have "deployed" TK's over to MEPD, and anything other than a clean TK go to SpecOps. Hope that makes sense.

The transition from summer to autumn is a busy one, especially for those of us with kids. If you thought FISD would pause while the staff got adjusted to the new schedule, think again. We’ve been busy! On what might you ask? Just a few simple things: 1. Getting the Rogue One CRL to *done* 2. Getting the The Last Jedi TK CRL to *done* 3. Getting the The Last Jedi Executioner CRL to *done* These should be released any day. Huge, huge thanks go to Glen (TK-85421 | gmrhodes13), Kit (TK-44840 | kitgutierrez), Jim (TK-82480 | jimmiroquai), and Reese (_Par) who were instrumental in getting the photos and text sorted out. The CRLs would still be languishing if it weren't for their combined efforts. Many other members contributed thoughts and ideas on the R1 over many months to get it where it is today. Glen & Kit are the first two The Last Jedi - Executioner applicants in the Legion and are ready for speedy approval. Please join me in congratulating them both as it's not every day you can say you were the first in a costume category. Huzzah! What does it take to make a Last Jedi stormtrooper? Come on by FISD and found out - it's not that much different from the regular First Order TK, and a great variation for holders of that costume just like going ANH Hero, ESB, or HWT is for ANH Stunt troopers. Having the Rogue One TK CRL complete also will make it easier for MEPD to complete the Jeddha Trooper "deployed" version of this costume as well. In addition we have new merch that is about to be launched. Coins for certain, but also an FISD "1st Millennium" special SWAG for exclusively for the first 1000 Expert Infantry stormtroopers in the Legion. It will be amazing, that's all I can say. There is still more to come in October, but for now I think that's quite a bit. Before I sign off, special recognition must go to our tireless webmaster Mathias (Locitus), who rescued the forums from upgrade disarray and got us back on our feet. The next drink is on us Mathias! Happy trooping, and here's to a great run-up in advance of the soon to be released Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Do you enjoy using your knowledge to help out future and existing Troopers? If so, we would like to invite you to join the Imperial Attache program! Members of the I.A. team are chosen to help out not only those here on the boards, but on a local level as well. Our aim is to have at least one in each and every Garrison, Squad and Outpost in the entire legion to be the eyes and ears of the FISD on a local level. A suggested level of EIB or above is preferred, as part of the duties include assisting those aiming for levels 2 and 3, but is not a requirement. Being active on the boards on a regular basis and helping out where you can is, though. Some of the benefits: 1. Access to exclusive Attache merch., including patches, etc. 2. Having the Imperial Attache title under your name. 3. Being a part of the team that welcomes new and prospective members of the FISD. 4. Being the "go-to" person in your Garrison, Squad or Outpost. 5. Exclusive access to the Attache HQ area, Imperial Propaganda Machine (newsletter) and merchandise discussions. We are currently in need of Attaches in many units, especially International Garrisons/Squads and Outposts. For more information on this program, please check out the link below**, and if you should have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at any time. ** https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/15252-fisd-attaché-program/?tab=comments#comment-184996 For a complete list of Imperial Attaches, go here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38483-fisd-imperial-attache-list/ With Unquestioned Loyalty, Joseph Pedigo TK-10963 "justjoseph63" FISD Amabassador Our 2 Contests Winners! I'm not talking about hurricane Irma, I mean the Photobucket disaster of 2017! For those who do not know what I'm talking about... I mean this: A lot of important build threads and tutorials have been destroyed. One of the most important victims was our famous E-11 Blaster Reference. This Super-Thread is critical to any blaster builder because it provides all the information you need to build a good looking detailed E-11. It's the main source of information to improve your blaster build. To save the thread and make it usable again, I managed to restore all the lost images. Our aim is to reach the one thousand mark of Troopers who have earned their Expert Infantry Badge, and although we are well on our way to this goal, we still have a long way to go! The amount of approved submissions is increasing (almost 90 this year alone) thanks to the dedication of those willing to go the "extra mile" toward screen accuracy. Did you know: as an incentive to hit this milestone, and as a way of recognizing the first millennium of FISD Expert Infantryman, we have some soon to be revealed merchandise that will only be available for a limited time to the first 1000 EI. So, if you are thinking about going EI, now is the time to do so. Here is a brief description of EIB as written by Paul (Daetrin), our founder: "Expert Infantryman status is not required for members of this detachment. It should be viewed as an optional set of requirements for those who wish to take the accuracy of their costumes to the next level, and be recognized accordingly. We're a costuming club - think of it as an award for costuming excellence and you get the picture. The requirements will not replace or supersede 501st standards, but only serve as an inspiration for the level of accuracy that can be achieved. The standards are meant to be high but achievable..." Besides the added pride you will have in your armor, those reaching this level can purchase exclusive EIB gear (patches, decals, etc.) and get a free certificate for your accomplishment. If you are interested or would like more information about the program, there is a link below** that will help. You can also contact myself or any Imperial Attaché, and we will be more than happy to assist you! ** https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35371-eib-and-centurion-what-do-these-terms-mean/ With Unquestioned Loyalty, Joseph Pedigo TK-10963 "justjoseph63" FISD Amabassador http://whitearmor.net/images/newsletter2015/followfisd.png Don't Forget We're on Facebook and Twitter! I only need the E-11. As long as it is against a white background where I can trim it down, I should be fine. The Crystal Patrol Duty Pack will be on MEPD, as they are doing the deployed versions of this costume. There is a thread on MEPD about it, and you can post it there. For the image, you can email it to me directly or simply provide an imgur or dropbox link.
-
Yes, it should be fine. From Wikipedia: Fiberglass is a common type of fiber-reinforced plastic using glass fiber.
-
FYI, *do* keep the comments coming. I know it may seem disappointing that all my not make it in to v1 of the CRL, but at some point they all will be. Remember, the Legion used to allow out of the box FX at one point too, and sandtroopers with ANH TK drop boxes, sniper plates, and ab plates.

Sorry, I should be more clear. There is a seam and the CRL says there should be a seam. But for that picture it looked more like an overlap. Maybe just a shadow?

Is it just me, or did they do an overlap on those legs? They look very different from the seamless on TFA.

FYI all the pictures have been posted and the CRL as it is is being reviewed by the LMO. https://origin-wiki.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_rogue_one Henry - I saw you posting while I was doing this. I'll read through your changes and see what may make it in. The one picture we really need is a good one for the E-11, or two.
-
Many reasons: 1. Because it was not a decision I was comfortable making on my own via PM without getting input from the forums. 2. Because I believe in transparency and there is no way we should make a decision on a new CRL like this without explaining why. 3. Decisions for CRLs actually in general should be made on the open boards so everyone is aware. Just because it wasn't used in L1 doesn't mean it wasn't a great find. You did good
-
So, the situation is that I still don't have photos for the CRL yet, which is the biggest block. Maybe the PI garrison can come through again like they did with the TLJ?
-
Photos posted to https://origin-wiki.501st.com/databank/TK_TLJ_Executioner Just waiting on final LMO review. Cross our fingers gents!
-
I will just say for now it will not be an L1 requirement for the cod.
-
Off to the LMO they go!
-
First I've seen TDK mentioned. Can someone at least post details in the 501st only area if this isn't meant to be public?
-
We don't have L2/L3 yet on the main TFA, so perhaps we can simply say "shall" for the overlap for now?

FYI I have moved this topic over to the TFA area as the PI garrison also has photos they took of parts, and offered to help photoshop. The more hands the better. NOTE: the punchlist of parts we need is on the first post, as is the CRL discussion thread.
-
OK, so I updated the shoulder bell to give some room there. Also, lmk if the bicep description keeping it in two parts is readable better that way. As Kit noted, all changes to the base FOTK are in green.

Executioner Stormtrooper Build (Jimmiroquai Set)
Daetrin replied to Kit Gutierrez's topic in TLJ Stormtrooper
I'll create a separate thread for it. -
FYI, we are not asking for drafts for the full CRL. We are only asking what you think will need changing from the base FOTK. I'll update the first post with the current CRL for the FOTK and the proposed changes for the TLJ Executioner in moments.
