  1. Does anyone have a copy of the measurement chart for RS? I have a chance at another set but the seller has all his measurements but not the chart so not sure which measurement is which.
  2. Unfortunately it kinda fell through, I didn't have the funds at the time so I listed my Darth Vader costume and my old FX stormy and they've both sold so I have the money now, the RS kit I wanted was on eBay but the listing ended unsold, I've tried contacting the seller but he's not responding, so the search continues..
  3. Is it just the circumference that's adjusted and not the lengths? If so it should be ok as I have very skinny arms and legs.
  4. Apologies if I'm asking this in the wrong section I couldn't find anywhere more specific to ask. I'm looking at a used RS TK and the current owner is 5'8" and 70kg, I am 6ft and around 80/85kg, what are the chances this armour could be a good fit for me?
  5. The helmet came with two 12v cage fans fitted and it's a very neat job but unfortunately they don't really work, I can barely feel a breeze from them. They're set up running on a 9v battery, I made up a 12v battery using four 3v button cells and tried running them on that but it didn't make a difference. Some good advice though thanks, I'll try mock fitting to see if there's space but should be okay as I don't have a particularly large head, and I'm bald too :-)
  6. Would these make a good set up for helmet fans? This for the power, two USB outs and on/off switch.. http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/products/7757508/?grossPrice=Y&cm_mmc=UK-PLA-_-google-_-PLA_UK_EN_Batteries-_-Rechargeable_Batteries&mkwid=sCyc7kzR1_dt|pcrid|88056613683|pkw||pmt||prd|7757508&gclid=Cj0KEQjwkZfLBRCzg-69tJy84N8BEiQAffAwqo0QlHjtwY_fs0A2COLe48ADexDnXvmx3XLjW4UxQR8aAtjA8P8HAQ Two of these.. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/5PCS-lot-Gdstime-USB-5V-6cm-60mm-60x15mm-Brushless-Cooling-Exhaust-Blower-Fan/32813050843.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.60.eKvFvR&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10152_10065_10151_10068_10130_10209_10192_10190_10301_10136_10137_10303_5360011_10060_10155_438_10154_10056_10055_10054_10059_100031_10099_10103_10102_10052_10053_10142_10107_10050_10051_10084_10083_10080_10082_10081_10110_10111_10112_10113_10114_10179_10182_10184_10078_10079_10210_10073_10189,searchweb201603_16,ppcSwitch_5&btsid=ccb186e5-f368-4e37-98a3-d598bf10f547&algo_expid=c0af704e-b278-4cf7-91b7-2ba2fcd10948-8&algo_pvid=c0af704e-b278-4cf7-91b7-2ba2fcd10948 From what I can see it would just be a matter of sticking them in with a bit of Velcro and plug and go.
  7. Thanks for the replies guys, it is as you pointed out an overlap, I bought the suit used and pretty much every join has been done with velcro so too much work for converting, this will be used maybe for occasional fancy dress and for the most part will just live on a mannequin. I'm on a very tight budget at the moment and just bought what I could afford for now, if I decide to join properly at some point I'll be saving for better armour. I think the best way for me to repair this is just glue from behind and maybe some liquid abs down the front to fill the crack. It actually split on the journey home from picking it up, I think due it being already cracked with age which unfortunately I hadn't noticed, the other thigh also has a crack but hasnt split apart yet.
  8. If the description of this is true, if what he's saying is this was made by the studio for the movie but not used, surely it's worth a lot more than the asking price? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Star-Wars-Sandtrooper-Stormtrooper-RotJ-ANH-Special-Edition-Helmet/222560095698?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D43781%26meid%3D56c629928b8f4c468340fff85a63b0fe%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D112453996280
  9. Thanks for all the food for thought guys, Ive definitely decided against the SDS armour, but still considering the one linked in the op.
  10. The one above is £650 or best offer, plus eBay is offering 10% off at the moment too, the SDS kit is also on eBay and is at £460 with no bids so far. I imagine either of these could come at around £500 and with the one above coming with the amount of extras it comes with it's going to be hard to beat. Another thing is I don't have the time or the patience to build my own and these are both ready made.
  11. Never say never, that was partly why I was considering the FX kit above, with it being approved kit (or so the seller says) the option is always there, after all there's only so times I'd be able to wear it before I run out of excuses and that's when I might get tempted to apply. Thanks for the replies guys.
  12. I've spent hours reading around the forum, I know exactly who I'd be buying my armour from if I could afford it but I'm on a tight budget. I know SDS is not very popular on here but I wouldn't be buying SDS armour with the intention of trying to join the 501st, incidentally is it five hundred and first, or five o first?
