I'd leave it there. Terrell or Billy can photoshop it out. We all know what it is, and that you'll just put it back on anyway. Ideally you'd have sent in the pix w/o it though.
I still believe they are what we used to refer to them way back - 02 cylinders. Even the action figure for the space trooper variant has the hoses plugging in to them.
It's certainly fine to sport at a non-canon event, but I do not believe it's been 501st approved as an EU accessory yet due to lack of permanence / enough different sources.
EIB doesn't specify and you can qualify with either. You can use four bumps, but three is what is movie accurate.
There are IIRC two folks making 3 bump ears.
I'm pretty sure they were killed. If not, they'd have been processed as prisoners once they reached Yavin and handed over the the Rebels, who would follow whatever protocol they'd established for dealing with prisoners.
Leather has been accepted for 501st standards for quite some time - I sure got mine OK'd in 2005 IIRC.
I'm not sure GL is a good judge of TK's - he seems to not be overly picky in that regard. To wit, he licenses the Rubies line just fine...
Let's be clear:
1) The FX buttons are not acceptable for size on all EIB, and color only for ANH/ESB. So even if you wanted to do an ROTJ suit you need to change out the buttons.
2) ROTJ EIB has a different color pattern than ANH/ESB.
