  1. What are you talking about? Mark Cheng TK boots are super comfy. Heck, even the johdpur boots I have are great. Just like regular shoes.
  2. I think it's whatever we want it to be. Even the whole SL, BH, whatever in the Legion is just for convenience. Actually it's moving away from these designators and moving towards actual costumes. What does it mean that SL is just as valid for Vader and some obscure EU sith lord both? In the holiday special - which is canon, no? - there is a non-TK based stormrooper - I forget the number. So whole thing of TK-xxx for *all* stormtroopers is pretty silly. As you can see if it's just nnn then there can be at most 1000 people on the Death Star with TK-nnn. If there are > 1000 stormtroopers they must use something other than TK. If you say "why can't they be TK-nnnn"? If that were the case his TKID would would have referred to him as TK-0421, or TK-00421, or whatever. Sorry to piss on people's cheerios...but hey it's all just fun anyway, no?
  3. Gmail all the way. I still use hotmail at times, but that's more for business stuff and IM.
  4. A few scuffs is perfectly fine, but there is a line between gently scuffed and weathered. The only exception to this is for the TK Commander, where being scratched and scuffed is encouraged. I think the HWT can also be a little scuffed
  5. Yeah, which is why in the movies we see everyone's chin from under the helmets. A pox on those books.
  6. OK, Billy loses. Congrats Ron on being EIB #73. We are now officially over 50% of MEPD deployed troopers. Great job guys!
  7. OK, now I *have* to bring armor. Brian & Smitty in the same spot. Oh yeah - FISD party tiime! Just need to pick the day/time.
  8. I bought my first set from Ebay. That was back in the day when an FX suit cost $1200 and you were happy to get it at that. I'm glad to say those days are long gone.
  9. I'm 6'0" and did the AP and now TE2. RT is also making a slightly larger helmet than the ANH sized ones that is way more accurate than the FX. You can try him as well.
  10. That, and me and Billy need to play RPS (rock, paper, scissors) to see who gets to update your title & add you to the list of EIB troopers!
  11. But now I think I will, if only to get a pix of you and me in kit Smitty. I have the FISD banner and will bring that too.
  12. Doh! Well, Germany and the UK are pretty close, and they troop tons if you need a fix
  13. We can. I wasn't going to bring armor, but perhaps now I should. Hmmm....
  14. That could be why - but alas the VisDic is full of poodoo in terms of explanations that make no sense.
  15. My vote is O2 canister and is was called that long before thermal detonator. If you think about it, it makes sense. The only thermal detonator we see is what Leia/Boush has and it not only looks the same, but is so powerful to put fear in the hearts of everyone in Jabba's palace. I can see no reason why troopers in the Death Star carry these around everywhere, and in an easy to grab by someone who is not themselves location, if it where a TD. An O2 canister makes much more sense. Actually my guess would be something even more mundane as a water bottle. Those uniforms get hot - you have to store liquid somewhere. In the end they're just there to look cool by the art department, nothing more.
  16. Looks really good to me. I'd suggest a strap between your butt and cod to keep that tab from drooping is all. Let's see what Terrell says
  17. Bing bing - give that man a cigar!
  18. Actually they're not really ranks at all. Expert Infantry, Lancer, and MEPD Police Officer are not ranks. They are detachment specific programs that encourage and recognize costuming excellence. On BSN "Pathfinder" just means a full detachment member, e.g. a 501st TB. Here we just use "Stormtrooper" to denote a full detachment member (501st TK). Andrew - I'm guessing via your avatar that your a "Pathfinder" on BSN, which means you'd be a "501st Member" here. Essentially FISD, CTN, BSN, MEPD follow the same format: Member (non-501st) 501st Member (501st, but does not have the costume for that detachment) [Detachment Member], which is custom to that det's forum.
  19. Yup - can't wait to see them. Welcome to the Legion Mo - seems you just joined recently. Hope the Central Garrison is taking good care of you Also - you may want to post in the appropriate forum to get your membership status upgraded.
  20. We need some good shots for the Legion CRL project. If you have an ROTJ costume (EIB preferred) that is up to CRL standards, we'd love it if you'd volunteer to have pictures of you taken in your suit for us to use. Essentially we need buckets on shots of you from a back side and front side angles, but the more angles we have the better. Think about it - you're kit will be the first ever featured for this costume's CRL - that's quite an honor indeed! Interested? Let us know and post away - the LMO would like these completed by Dragon*Con.

  22. +1
  23. Looks like a lot of fun - that sure is a nice kit
  24. Answer = nope. Luckily, there are several sources for hovis here. You can try Stomper and Keith for sure.
