  1. No worries Terry - it was a joke. Staff doesn't have a lock on knowledge after all.

    TROOPS

Right with you. I've seen oodles of fan films and this is still the one that really stands out.
  3. Great to hear it ended well. This is why we always say that buying armor is more than about the plastic - it's the person and their integrity too.
  4. Because I forgot to allow general members write access (all others are fine) when I set it up (IOW, a bug by me). This is now fixed.
  5. Currently Terrell (SuperTrooper) is the person who does all the photoshopping. I'd suggest that anyone who wants to help out give him a ping and see what help he needs. For example, the thumbnail pix are all devoid of any decoration other than a background. If we were to make them look more like MEPD, e.g. Then this is a bunch of work he could have help with. There was a suggestion about putting EIB info directly in the image but my concern about this is the rework that would need to be done should someone's status change, and to be honest I like that the background is a subtle method of making this distinction.
  6. I think we're all agreed then to use animated gifs. This is what we're doing now for profile pix, so we'll just continue to do so. Vern - this was sent by an FISD staff member and while it's great having you here, it's pretty impolite to disparage others, most especially those who work tirelessly to make this a better place for others. That kind of comment is certainly not in the spirit of "troopers helping troopers". I'm pretty meticulous in picking staff and we work as a team. If you say something unkind about one, you're really taking us all down.
  7. Great find Tom! Pinned for this year as it's the 30th Anniv. of ESB.
  8. Alas. all TE & AP derived armor are not true ANH/ESB. They were from a later set of armor that was reworked to ANH. Helmet is a different story of course. Apparently MR is laser scanning suits in the archives...
  9. The transition is a bit slow IMHO, and also you're larger in the pix then the rest of the troopers. Normally there is more room for the background. Ideally it would be great if they were consistent with the other 90+ folks. Still you whipped this out fast - perhaps you could lend Terrell a hand?
  10. Still awaiting mine, alas. Can't wait to get it!
  11. Great PI work Tom! Shawn - yeah if you look at other shots in the SE editions of ANH such as on the Death Star, you'll find more ROTJ troopers too. Essentially Lucas seems to feel the ROTJ is what he wants people to see and thus we find them composited in. Either that or else they were the only suits able to be used - not sure which is the true story.
  12. I'd also suggest you contacting the detachment armorer and update your membership status if you're 501st. It will also give you access to the private boards, if you take my meaning.
  13. That is totally sweet!!!!!!! SpecOps is lucky they got the jump on that costume - I'd love to host that here on FISD instead. Hope it gets 501st approved soon - this is just killer.
  14. They also offer t-rack, but so far I've not heard a review on how good it is.
  15. Yes, we're working on it. We have most of an Academy site done but are working on the reference/tutorial pieces now. All the appropriate pages are stubbed and the rest of the site is finished, but it's slow going on the ref/tuts areas. Perhaps it would be best if we published the site as it is now and let the entire forum contribute, rather than the staff trying to slug it out alone?
  16. Nope, we don't make a distinction for now. We could include direction on this as an optional but it wouldn't affect the requirements. I have no preference either way, but I'm sure some people will
  17. I'm sorry, the awesomeness of these two troopers caused me to forget the question. I'll just enjoy this picture for a while then until my brain re-engages...
  18. Now that we have some dual EIB with more in the works, the question came up on how best to represent this on the EI page. To date we've used the background to denote EI cohort, e.g. an ANH background for ANH troopers. One thought was to use an animated gif or similar that would rotate between pix, but we're open to other ideas. What do you guys think?
  19. th are for detachment members only CRL POLL http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=9656 EIB POLL http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=9657 Polls open for two weeks.

  22. Amen to that - you know he must be good if other prop makers hold him in high esteem.

    HOORAY!

Always great to see your work Alex!
  24. Unrelated - I love your screen name Jake. I was a 67V for 8 years (have my senior wings ). Of course, these were on A plus models that I'm not sure are in service anymore (I got out in '97).
  25. A-men. Perhaps it's because I saw the OT as they came out, and like you felt the NT got better as it went along. I actually like EPII - guess it's because Portman is hottest in it and I like the EPII clones a lot (though some day I will get that 41st Elite clone...)
